Nevada County Fairgrounds

White powder lines mark the hookup sites at Nevada County Fairgrounds, where RVs up to 50 feet can access full utility connections. This county-managed facility operates year-round in Grass Valley, accommodating both hookup and dry camping arrangements on grass surfaces that may require leveling adjustments.

The fairgrounds setting means campers sometimes encounter scheduled events, though staff can relocate visitors to quieter sections when needed. Marcus K. notes the "bathroom clean and in good condition," while multiple reviewers confirm the facility maintains quiet conditions overall. A small pond provides fishing opportunities for children, and the fairgrounds remain open during the day for walking.

Site spacing varies considerably across the property. Some areas offer generous dimensions with ample room between neighbors, while others place RVs in closer proximity. Power, water, and sewer connections function reliably according to camper reports. Surface streets provide town access without requiring freeway travel.

Dry camping starts at $30 per night, with hookup rates increasing based on utility needs. The facility welcomes pets and offers reservation options. For additional camping choices, visitors can explore campsites near Grass Valley or nearby Grass Valley RV Resort. This setup works best for RV travelers seeking convenient access to town amenities with basic fairgrounds accommodations.

Many campers appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, good utilities, and reasonable pricing. Site conditions vary widely from huge spacious areas to cramped spots with uneven ground requiring leveling.

Ok site

Hookup campsites are demarcated by white powder on the ground. If you dont need hookups looks like you can go anywhere. We booked a site not realizing we ended up in the middle of a bluegrass teaching festival. Fortunately they moved us to another location that offered more solitude”. Bathroom clean and in good condition.

Quiet camping

It’s $30 a night for dry camping and goes up from there depending on what hookups you need. Very peaceful and the fairgrounds are open during the day to walk around.

Definitely a good spot to stay!

Really nice with the lake and quiet woods feeling. No hassle booking and really reasonable price. Huge sites like 150x18 or there abouts.

Visit was April 2020. Had spot in rear of facility. Lots of room uneven grass surface but auto leveled no problem. Small pond for kids only fishing. Easy freeway access can get to town on surface streets. Overall was quiet clean safe. Would stay again.
