It Allright!

It was pretty full, the only spot available was at the very top by the road but it had the best view of Shasta.

There were a couple of sketchy characters so I decided to car camp instead of set up a tent.

I did have normal campers as well. Which made me feel safer.

Sit is meh. There was a fire spot but i like being immersed in trees!

If you camp here check out Siskiyou Lake right down the way to swim it was THE best view of Shasta and the most mellow and perfect swimming conditions!

Great for tents/ cars not so much for trailers

This spot is great, plenty of space, quiet, great views of Mount Shasta, easy to access. Lots of spots tucked away to park next to, and even more tent spots you can walk to hidden just off the drivable areas. Saw about 5 people camping around us, mostly in cars with tents and some vans. There’s more than enough room for many people. There’s also a small creek you can bushwhack to to the east, and castle lake is a 30 min walk up the road.

I would probably not recommend with a trailer. I made it down with my Tacoma and a 12ft travel trailer but it was a stretch. Super easy to get in, but took a long time to turn around and get back out. Anything bigger than and you’re probably stuck. Other than that it’s perfect!

great spot! i got in with a lil mazda, tho i did turn back from some of the lower section. it’s a pull off to the left when going TO castle lake. spots splintering off along the main road. u can wander around and find one to ur liking, i got one with a wonderful view, fire pit, privacy, and a good sitting rock. enjoy :)

Recommended

About 15 min off the I-5 and climbing most of the way. High and dry. Great view of Shasta Mtn. 8 campers here in mid May. All 2 wheel low clearance accessible. 8 or more still available for higher clearance vehicle. T-Mobile reception good.

Grand view

Road dips down but rutted and I'm low clearance so can't tell what's down there. I'm in amthe o ly pullout off the side of the road before it Dios. Awesome view. Cannot hear water the other person mentioned but also haven't walked down the road yet. 3 or 4 rigs down close by. I am in a level spot but nowhere to walk except road from here. Again, great view.

Nice area

As of May 31st there isn’t access to some areas as there is snow blocking the way, some areas are wet from the snow that has already melted. The toilets up at Castle Lake are still covered in snow and inaccessible. Pack in pack out. Other than that nice peaceful area, you can hear the river running, and has a nice view of Mount Shasta.
