Big Pine Flat Campground

Off-highway vehicle enthusiasts will find Big Pine Flat Campground positioned at a forest crossing with direct access to OHV trails, Jeep routes, and shooting ranges. The US Forest Service facility operates seasonally from May through October and accommodates RVs up to 30 feet, though the layout favors tent camping and overland setups. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with potable water and restrooms available throughout the campground.

The campground sits adjacent to an active OHV staging area, which generates consistent noise from dirt bikes and side-by-sides during peak use periods. Recent campers report large groups gathering across from the campsites with amplified music extending late into the evening. The $30 nightly fee reflects the developed amenities, though the proximity to motorized recreation means quiet camping isn't guaranteed. For those seeking different accommodations, Big Pine Equestrian Group Campground operates nearby with horse-specific facilities.

Sites are nice, there is potable water and toilets BUT there is also a OHV staging area directly across from the campsites. The occasional dirt bike is fine right? So I thought. There was a group of 20+ people partying and playing corridos so loud I couldn’t fall asleep. They had a side by side with large speakers facing the campsite :/ I wouldn’t be annoyed if it was free but I paid $30 to camp and the camp host said this is their turf and there is nothing he can do.
