Walk-in access defines the experience at Tonto National Forest Falls Campground, where campers carry their gear from parking areas to individual sites. The US Forest Service operates this established campground within the national forest from mid-May through mid-October, accommodating the higher elevation seasonal conditions.
Located in the Young area, the campground requires advance planning since no vehicle access reaches the campsites themselves. Campers exploring campgrounds near Tonto National Forest will find this location offers a more secluded experience than drive-up alternatives. The seasonal closure from October through May reflects snow and access limitations at this elevation.
