Kinnikinick - DAY USE ONLY

Fishing and paddling opportunities draw visitors to this day-use area beside Mormon Lake, though overnight camping is prohibited directly at the lake. The National Forest manages this drive-in site with basic toilet facilities and space for RVs up to 22 feet. Reviewers note the access road provides numerous pulloff spots for free dispersed camping, with one camper observing "the road to get to kinnikinick lake is FULL of places to pull off and camp for free" at least one mile from the water. The road requires careful navigation but accommodates various vehicle types. Campers seeking overnight stays can explore places to camp around Mormon Lake or consider nearby Dispersed Camping FS 124 for extended stays.

great time, rough drive

Our family loves this hidden gem. Great place to fish, paddle around and campsites that aren't on top of each other. The road to the lake is pretty intense, so be careful and smart. But...so much fun!

Amazing!!

You cannot park overnight directly at the lake itself. If you look online, it says that you must be at least 1 mile away from the lake to camp overnight. But the road to get to kinnikinick lake is FULL of places to pull off and camp for free. We saw a ton of big RVs camping along that road. Any vehicle can go down this road. But you will see a sign that will say if you are within 1 mile from the lake so it’s easy to know if you are in a good spot to park and sleep over night. There were no reviews when I arrived so I was rolling the dice but this is PERFECT to camp for free in the flagstaff area. So many trees for shade and privacy and a bunch of spots to choose from going down that road.
