A camper noted, "We stayed in C section with full hook-ups. They have playgrounds throughout the campground, trails from 1 mile long to 15 miles long that can be utilized by horse, bike, or on foot."
Winter lake activities: While summer brings crowds for swimming and boating, winter offers a serene experience at Wind Creek State Park Campground. "We were the only trailer in loop D. It was quiet and very enjoyable! Being right on the lake and having the ducks swim up really thrilled our dogs," shared one winter visitor.
Wildlife viewing opportunities: At Amity Campground, the nature trail leads to a marsh with duck, owl, and bluebird nest boxes. "There are two long boardwalks where you can walk over the marsh. There's a good chance you'll see turtles and frogs. There are also benches for birding," explains a frequent visitor. Kayakers can explore the sloughs to spot great egrets and blue herons.

Waterfront camping access: Many sites at Wind Creek allow direct lake access. "We stayed at site 100 it was an excellent site right on the water next to us was like a private beach. This is the only public access to Lake Martin," explains a camper.
Clean facilities: Blanton Creek Campground maintains high standards for their bathhouses. "The bathhouse is heated and has five toilet stalls and four nicely tiled showers with benches," notes a camper. Similar attention to cleanliness extends to the grounds themselves.

"Many of the sites back up into the woods for shade and a hint of privacy with plenty of space to setup outside," writes one visitor. At Blanton Creek, "Sites are on the smallish side but well shaded. Site 1 has another site 15 feet behind it. (RV butts back to back)."
