Awesome cliffside spot
We camped along the rim in this area, lots of space. Amazing view across the Badlands.
Stop with a view
Arrived past dark, could determine where to go so parked along roadside. In AM found The Wall well populated with overnight campers. We can see why!
Amazing views/camping
Big open area with amazing views for sunrise and just to hang out! Will definitely be staying again. I went at the end of August and arrived to the spot around 5:30pm. Still a lot of spots open.
Epic views, lots of space
This was one of the best boondocking spots I’ve ever been to. There were multiple people there but there is so much space that you can definitely find a spot. There’s not a lot of privacy, but the views and wildlife make up for it and everyone is so friendly but keeps to themselves and is there to enjoy the outdoors. Great spot and right outside of the National park.
STUNNING
You just pull up and find a spot along the ridge. It was pretty crowded and due to the terrain you don’t really have any privacy but the views and stars make it totally worth it. There’s no facilities here, so prepare well, but definitely worth a stop!

Incredible Views!
High on a bluff overlooking a valley of beautiful mineral structures. Absolutely gorgeous! It is a bit windy at times so secure everything! Left everything during the day to go out exploring and nothing was bothered when we returned. Always other campers around, so if you want solitude this isn't the place. But met some great folks during our stay. Photo below is a sunrise from our camper door. Oh, and did I mention it is free! Well you paid for it in taxes, so come enjoy it!
Beautiful but windyyyy!
Awesome spot. Plenty of other campers, mostly with RVs or vans but everyone was respectful. We had a truck bed tent and as mentioned in one of the other reviews, the weather was unpredictable. We had some pretty intense winds and scattered storms come through the night.
super cool boondocking... not sure for how long herd roomers
totally cool views.
Wonderful
Beautiful location- lots of nice spots to chose from. Highly recommend
Badlands Dispersed Camping
Popular spot. Peaceful and serene. Beautiful sunrises.
Scenic and worthwhile
Nothing beats the experience of boondocking at the wall. Waking up to this view is a must.

Awesome views, lots of space
Been here twice in the past month. Set up camp right on the cliff overlooking the edge of the Badlands. No services here, except super fast 5G cell.
Amazing view
Free camping right by Pinnacle entrance of the Badlands...cant beat free! It is hot up there in the middle of summer though a breeze comes through ..we were in the 80s, so I can't imagine what it will be like when it gets to 100 degrees. Regardless, I recommend this spot if you like free and want a lovely view of the badlands.
There were a lot of RVs campers and people in tents, but still tons of spots to choose from!!!

Best Dispersed Spot!
Camped over July 4 holiday but still able to get a spot. Arrive before noon for best selection. Expect close neighbors when busy. But epic site along the wall. Road into the area is full of potholes so take your time.
Beyond phenomenal
The road in was a little rough. But we found the spot recommended by some for larger rigs and parked on the grass side of the road. We had fabulous views, amazing hiking and lots of memories made! Well….except for the biting swarms of cow flies. Hail. Extreme temp changes. Haha. But I guess it’s all part of the experience right?!
