Sweetest host and very nice campground

Nice showers and toilet facilities. Right be the water and far enough from the road to avoid the noise. Host was a class act helping us out with everything at 11pm when we arrived

Lovely park, good water access

We stayed in site 83, just at the top of the boat ramp. It was a good spot with lovely views. The bathrooms are clean. Showers are coin operated.

Sizeable pull throughs

We had a center lot that was fairly private. The whole park is right off the freeway though. Showers were coin operated showers

Pretty bay

Winter camping here means plenty of sites to choose and waking up to beautiful water views (in the sites with no hookups). The sites with hookups are in trees.

Nice, wooded state park

Lots of trees, with decent privacy between sites. It’s also right on the bay, with a small beach made of broken up shells. The Olympic Discovery Trail runs through the park.

Beautiful facility with spacious sites. A bit expensive for off season. Pay to use showers that had good hot water. The site adjacent to us looked like a homeless camp. Young couple with 2 forever barking dogs, obviously living there with amount of belongs strewn around.

Nice But Noisy

Well wooded and very clean campground. It was not very full, so the noise was not from campers (though it’s so big it probably is noisy during the summer), but rather from Hwy 101 which this campground is next to. It dies t really let up at night like I was expecting. I was even lower down in the hiker/biker sites and not up near the highway. I definitely needed earplugs to sleep. Also the food line was broken in P2, so if needing to hang food, make sure to use P1 or P3. P3 is by far the best site of the three.

Typical Washington State Park Campground

Stopped here on a bicycle tour. It's nice that they have a hiker/biker section. The price was $6 (as opposed to $5 in Oregon), and showers cost extra (they are free in Oregon). That part was disappointing for a budgeting traveler.

Otherwise, campground was clean and well-maintained. Staff was friendly. The bike racks at camp were not ideal for actually locking up a bike. I'm not sure who comes up with the designs for these things.

Nice Campground for a Short Visit

Site 80 is the best, it's a corner spot with great views of the water. The bike trail runs through the campground and there is access to sports fields via a tunnel under the highway. There are a few short trails around a creek and the beach.

Nice campground on Sequim Bay and Olympic Discovery Trail

This is a nice wooded campground located right off Hwy101 and on Sequim Bay. Boat launch and at low tide a pebble beach make this a great spot for water recreation. Some campsites are waterfront (#80-82 have best views) and others have partial water views through the trees. The Olympic Discovery Trail runs through the park making this an ideal spot for people wanting a protected and scenic bike trail cycling experience. Some hike-bike-in only sites as well.

Close to town and to the water- win

This one was a really nice spot for the family. There’s no vegetation between sites, but there are fences to hang your gear and give boundaries to kids. The sites are stepped, so even back from the water you have a view. We liked it. It wasn’t busy and felt safe and kid friendly.

Nice campground, but could be better

The sites were fairly level gravel sites, but as others stated, the sites are very close together.

The only issue I had was the hookups are oddly close to the front of sites for a back-in site. Not an issue for us since we have a shorter Jayco 174BH, but we had to park it so the hitch was just off the road. The only reason this works is because they have plenty of parking, so once you place your trailer, you can then park your vehicle across the road.

We used the 30 Amp connection, and the sewer connection. One of the things I disliked about the connections(other than the location being very far forward on the site) was the sewer connection was odd to me(first time having sewer connection at my camp site). It was a pipe that stuck out of the ground about 6 inches with a 90 degree elbow on the top. I don't think we spilled anything, but it did not allow our tanks to drain out of the hose until the end of the stay when I had to manually lift the hoses to evacuate them.

For the RV sites, each one is listed as XX feet off the highway, but there are plenty of trees between the highway and the camp sites to buffer then noise.

There are clean bathrooms and the showers require a token. Didn't use them, just noticed it. I mention this because you have to purchase the tokens and wasn't sure if they have to be bought during business hours or not? So be aware of that. The restrooms were clean and functional.

We have Verizon and had no issues with services at this campground.

Good, but not awesome.

The camping for RV’s with hookups is iffy. It’s very close to the highway and the sites are extremely close to one another. Our site in particular had hookups in all the wrongs places and a steep hill directly behind it (not great for families with little ones). Overall though, the campground was good. A lot of wonderful hiking trails and an adjacent biking trail.

Nice campground as a Launching point to Olympic NP

Camped here for 2 nights as we explored Olympic NP. It's a bit far from the western portions of the NP but still plenty to explore for daytripping in the area. Our campsite #82 was overlooking the bay and a bit quieter than the other sites. Bathroom facilities were nearby and relatively well-kept for a busy summer season. Showers were also a nice bonus ($0.25 for 3 minute token). Very family friendly site. Easy walk down to the bay during low tide where you can find crabs, clams, oysters, snails and all sorts of water critters... Very enjoyable stay!

Very Nice, but with a few tolerable issues.

The staff person at the registration booth was very cheerful and helpful. I also noticed that there is an herb garden planted in front of the booth- thought about asking for some sprigs of rosemary and thyme for our dinner that night, but darn I chickened out... The winding paths leading from the upper campsites to the water’s edge are a treasure trove for a photographer. Great fun. Our upper loop site had zero privacy, and was a bit noisy, as there was highway construction going on, layered on top of the background of the usual nearby highway noise. There is construction going on inside the camp as well, on a dock and a retaining wall I believe? So I was not able to explore those campsites nearer the water, but it looked like perhaps there would be more privacy there? Our paved pad was nearly perfectly level despite the online info of “slightly sloped.” Hookups (water, power, sewer) were fine. Bathrooms are very clean, with an excellent, roomy, clean steaming hot shower (tokens needed - pick them up at the registration booth - you need paper money to feed the token machine: 1 token will get you 3 minutes.) We had friendly neighbors who had some ideas about how we might find a replacement for our 54 year old broken door hinge... **Thanks Ray! **

Sheltered from wind

We drove in from Montana on our way south down 101. This site was great for our truck camper. The key is getting a site that is further down the hill. The sites down the hill are further away from the road noise and provide a great view of the bay. Toilets and showers were all clean.

Great park !

We stopped for lunch and decided to stay the night because it was so nice. Super clean bathrooms. The showers required tokens. Each token was $0.50 for 3 minutes. The check in office had a herb garden that was available for campers to enjoy use of. Our only complaint was that there were heavy equipment delivering construction materials early in the morning.

Ranger Review: Wenzel Tent at Sequim Bay State Park

Campground Review

This campground is a great spot for families wanting to be near the Olympic National Forest. The grounds are on Sequim Bay, with a few sites butting up against the river edge. The Olympic Discovery Trail runs through the campgrounds and is well maintained. For those with boats, there is a lot of moorage space and even space for overnight moorage. This campground has tennis courts, a basketball hoop, and lots of wide open fields. The sites are relatively open, and this is a favorite of families, so if you are looking for a peaceful time you may want to skip this one. There are full hookups and decent showers and bathrooms. You must have a discover pass to get into this park in addition to camp fees. Down the 101 to Dabob bay, there are great spots to go clamming and oyster hunting. On Sequim Bay, the access for boating and kayaking is unbeatable!

Gear Review

I was offered the opportunity to test out the Wenzel Shenanigan 8 teepee tent.

Pros: This is a great front county beginner tent for a family. This tent is huge and very tall! My husband is 6'4" and is able to stand with no issues of hitting his head. There are a lot of vents so the tent does not overheat. In each of the corners, there is a small pocket for personal items. There are three windows for venting and the entire door is able to pull back for screen venting as well. This is a perfect tent for kids.

Cons: The center pole tent is the only pole on the tent. The stakes are the only thing holding the base outward. If you are not camping in an area that has softer ground to stake, this tent will not stay open. The upside down T, for the opening, is difficult to get in and out of. The center tent pole, while making the tent very tall, does not allow for queen size mats or air mattresses. The ground cover fabric does not reach up very high so a tarp is necessary for under.

I was not impressed

Maybe the reason I was not impressed was this was my last night camping on a 10 day vacation, and we stopped here, just because we didn't want to go home. The camp sites were small. Lots of Ada sites, nice hiking trail, bathrooms were well kept, there are coin showers. The water in this part was very red and did not look healthy. We spoke with a park ranger, who seemed to know nothing about the algae blooms, nor did he seem to care. Told us not to worry about it. Well I worried a little. We didn't eat anything we caught. We left to go get some dinner and when we got back we had a woman as a neighbor in the next campsite, who told us that she was about to steal our stuff

Quiet and Convenient

Quiet camping right on the bay. Campground is conveniently located near the town of Sequim. Forest setting with campsites spread out. Clean showers and restrooms. Campground is accessed by the highway or if hiking and biking from the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT).

Small State Park with Lots of Activities

I was lucky to snag the last available site on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend and what a great site it was! I was on the edge of the campground with views of the water. Sequim Bay State Park is a fairly small park with lots of sites and recreational areas. There are basketball courts, a ball field, swings, and a horseshoe pit. There are also hiking trails and a bike path that run right through the park. The bike path can take you all the way to Port Angeles. It's a quick, easy drive to the town of Sequim and Port Townsend is also easily accessible. There is also water access (although it's a little too cold for swimming) if you are arriving by boat. The bathrooms have running water and showers (that require tokens). If you are visiting for the day you need a Discover Pass but camping fees cover that if you are spending the night. It's a little bit pricey to stay here ($48 for an online reservation).

Camping In Style

Now I’m not one to camp in an RV but I honestly can say if I was going to sissy-camp with an RV it would be at Sequim Bay.

They have a beautiful facility with many public restrooms and showers, RV hookups for both power and water, and easy to park lots. They also offer tent camping lots if that would be a preferred route.

It’s a quick jaunt to the shoreline, either from conventional trails or a bit off the path if that’s what you like (which, obviously, I do!) and has a boat launch and docking space for public access. Fishing and shellfish harvesting is legal while in season and I gotta say the beaches really pulled through as we harvested our own meals for the entire trip!

We decided to go a bit too early for swimming, being only May, but we still managed to get some kids to try our floaters in the Bay. They came back frozen but happy, and the adults were glad for a bit of silence, I’m sure.

overall a great place to have a late Springtime adventure!

Clean and Accessible

We had a late night stopover and an early rise for the #cotopaxi questival. It was easy to find, super well kept and quiet. 4 stars bc bathrooms were locked and traffic noise at night.

Sequim Bay

This Bay is absolutely stunning. The water is so clear, and there is so much wildlife in this park. Ive never seen more starfish, and seals. I was here visiting an uncle who lives in the area. We went kayaking on the bay, and enjoyed the weather. this is my favorite park in the U.S. I highly recommend it. There was so much to see, and do.
