Directions

Hwy 101 Northbound: Take HWY 105 from Raymond 26 miles to Grayland. At entrance to community of Grayland, turn left towards ocean. Park entrance is on the left. Southbound take Hwy 105 South out of Aberdeen. After Approx. 20 miles where the highway forms a 'T', turn left toward Grayland. Approx. 4.5 miles at the end of Grayland community turn right, park entrance is on left.

Secluded and beautiful

Sites were super clean and hidden away from your neighbors. All sites were close to restrooms and we didn't run into anyone on the beach. Would definitely go back.

Great stay!

This was a great place to get away for a few days! It’s close enough to both Seattle and Portland to make the drive fairly painless, and once we arrived, it was easy to set up in our stall. The full hookup sites were a great addition, and not having to worry about finding a separate dump station takes a lot of stress off our stay. The beach is beautiful, the weather was fairly nice, and the campground was chill. We also needed to get some work done, so it was nice having reception with T-Mobile to keep in touch while we were away. We look forward to having the opportunity to come back and visit more often!

Great park right by the beach

The park was beautiful and well maintained, the facilities were clean, and you’re just far enough from the ocean that the ocean breeze isn’t overwhelming at the campsites. It’s also quite popular and while there is a decent amount of foliage to separate you from your neighbors, you can still hear and see them.

Peaceful and only an hour away!

We, in the PNW are lucky that within a short drive there are so many options. This park is really nice. You can’t see the ocean from our spot but the sound is perfect. Westport is fun - shops, breweries and restaurants are all good for time away from the camp (if you want).

Great Park, with tons of beach!

We have been to Grayland now twice. Each time we have had a nice time regardless of the weather. Trip one was late fall, nights were cold, days were cold and wet. These are the nature of Washington coastal parks, just dress for it. Also make sure you have plenty of propane for the heater!

The sites really are nice, there are a few that get restricted reservations due to flooding (it is at sea level) or just a bit above. The reservation site lets you know on their website.

Westport is pretty quiet this time of year, but hang onto your hat during fishing season, Westport is really busy and a lot of fun! Try the donut shop for sure, I went there when I was a little kid and I still remember the delicious smell of fresh donuts.

Verizon was reliable. Hotspot was decent speed for streaming movies and work.

There is a hardware store in Grayland not far from the park entrance, they have EVERYTHING! Super cool people too! Good places to eat and drink as well.

We have two more visits scheduled for this year and we look forward to going!

Great place

Great quiet park with friendly staff always there to help. Bathrooms and showers are clean but super cold in the fall season. Each site is laid out to be so private and filled with trees. Easy access to the beach and close to many tourist sites as well as many fabulous restaurants. Make sure to make a trek to Tokeland to the famous hotel for breakfast lunch or dinner

Great location on the beach

This is very well maintained state campground within walking distance of the beach. Very clean with all the amenities. Each loop is really quiet and shielded from the wind by the coastal forest.

Nice stay

We did a 2 night, full RV hookup site. Nicely maintained property with great beach access and lots of places to bike. Would definitely go back.

Amazing!

We go once a year and stay in a yurt. This is a family favorite. We love Yurt 62. It’s on a little cul-de-sac where the kids can ride their bikes and scooters around. There’s a trail to the beach and bathrooms very close. It is quiet and clean and you get cell service.

Loved it

What a nice place! So quiet and such easy access to the beach. We were one of the few tents there; most people are in their RVs. Going to sleep with the sound of the ocean at night was priceless.

Very nice!

My all time favorite

This is my favorite place to camp. Our kids loved going there and now our grandchildren love it. So much to do with a nice beach at the park. More beaches in Westport along with fishing and crabbing make the days go by so fast because of all the fun you are having. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

Popular campground with huge beach

Grayland seems to be off the beaten path when it comes to state campgrounds, only 30 minutes outside of Aberdeen. The campground is very popular but worth it for the great beach. The beach is massive, clean, and very few people are out there. We always feel like we have the whole beach to ourselves to let the kids and dogs run! Just up the road is the small town of Westport if you feel the need to be social. Stop by Granny Hazel's for a sweet treat, then hit the marina for fresh prawns or crab!

Awesome Beach Getaway

Hidden gem on the coast! Just south of Westport is Grayland Beach State Park. Perfect spot to dig for razors or to just get away to the beach. Great tent and yurt sites, lots of water access, and trails in the area. Visit Westport for a few hours and enjoy the small beach town vibe.

Great for families and short getaway trips, rain or shine.

Great campground!

We stayed in site 108. The pad was surrounded by trees and felt really private. Protected from the wind. We were a few feet from a beach entry. Waking up our first morning it really loved up to it's name. Clouds and spotty showers left us wet but excited for the day! We were a 5 minute walk from beach. Night time left us listening to the waves breaking on the beach. Great site and we'll be back.

Great camping and park in a beachy town

The vibe of this town and park reminds me of the coastal towns on the East Coast. Excellent wildlife (especially birds) and endless beach and dunes to explore. The campsites are surrounded by short trees and are very close to the beach, with some having views of the water. There are some yurts to rent too! Bring kites, surfboards, kayaks, and binoculars.

Great campground

Been comin to this park for years. Absolutely love the place sights have always been clean, most sites have good privacy kindling and firewood is for sale at some of the sites. Yurts are available near the dunes. The dunes between the campground and the beach make for a nice walk and an awesome place to explore and for kids to play.

One of our favorites anywhere

My family stayed at Grayland beach, our first camping trip after moving from Minnesota to Washington. So glad we didn't go to Ocean Shores, you can see all the tourists across the water from the observation tower in Grays Harbor.

Saw my first banana slug, a huge yellow one that crawled out from the water spigot post at the campsite!

We went back several times, including for one winter storm in January that cleared out all the campers but us, until we realized the yurt had no power (hence no heat) and found that there was no power all the way to Aberdeen! The pounding of the surf all night sounded like a freight train on the other side of the dune, we didn't get a very restful night but that's not because of the park- it's always exciting. We spent hours chasing waves, collecting sand dollar shells, and even found the remains of a large ray washed up on the beach.

We have talked to campground hosts who RV full time, seeing the whole country- but who say Grayland is their favorite!

Interesting to go down to the cannery road, and see the shoreline disappearing year upon year...people's houses lost to the waves.

A salty experience

If you want an easy trip to the coast with some key amenities nearby and plenty if beach access, the Grayland will treat you well, if it doesn't rain. There's plenty of access to the beach when it's open to razor clamming or you can even give it a go at fishing for surf perch. Plus there always surfing and find relic shells.

You gave grate full meal deal with camping facilities including a shower to rinse off the salt. The walk in campsites are a good treat if you want a little privacy or have a big group during the offseason.

Indeed it's gray and the beach is full of trucks?!!?

I was really excited about our visit to this part of Washington and the coast but the sad part is that once again there's a lot of families and kids and the beach had people who like to drive trucks on the sand doing donuts nearby.

There were great huckleberry bushes, but beware of the people who don't pick up after their pets--there was huge piles of dog doo along the shoulder where you walk to the beach trail and by the restroom where people tie dogs up and use the facilities.

The campsites are often used by people who book several sites at once for huge family gatherings so the bordering bushes that supposedly create some sense of privacy have huge holes in them--so your neighbors can hang out with you whether you want that or not.

The rangers who man the place are very young and I don't think they excel at cleaning and keeping guests inline with park rules. They dump trash, check people in, check people out, clean fire pits, change the TP and not much more. Their ranger station is so nice, maybe they would rather just stay in there.

The campground is mostly set back from the beach although the sound of the sea is still heard and that's great if you don't have a noisy loop. The walk to the trail is on a paved road, then the actual walk to the beach is long long long long. Lots of dunes, lots of soft sand and long flat little waves to walk through. You can walk a long the beach for a long time, but once again, weirdos in trucks speed by randomly and this spoils the sense of vastness we came here for.

I would not go back here again, although the folks who had sites right on the beach and in the yurts looked happy.

Beautiful Oceanfront Campground!

Grayland Beach State Park is made up of an older section, farther from the beach, and a newer section, up against the dunes. As campers leave, volunteers come through to pick up and rake each site. Sites are private and many have woodsy borders. Easy beach trails.
