Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

Nice resort just outside Zion. This was a great place to book last minute since the campsites in Zion get reserved pretty far in advance. It was a beautiful, quiet campground, and it had great amenities to come back to after a long day of hot, summer Zion hiking!

As a solo woman, safety was my first priority and it felt very safe the whole time. It was, however, a bit pricey, and the sites were not very private. On the plus side, the pool and hot tub were amazing after hiking Zion, the adventure add-ons were incredible, and the accessibility to the park is hard to beat for this price range. I would go back but I also assume there are other places.

If you can find somewhere else I would highly recommend it. The sites are narrow, not level and unkept with garbage around and in the firepit. The water pressure is also extremely poor. They should be embarrassed charging $120 a night when it's not worth $30.

Sites are not level, very noisy in the am or at night..no security and the place is run by a bunch of teenagers. The grill was full garbage and the sites were un kept and primitive. Not worth the money..nothing positive about this resort.

Lovely tent campsite with a picnic table and fire ring. Excellent shower room and restroom with laundry. Full service resort including restaurant on grounds. No cell signal but decent WiFi EXCEPT in the campground. There were many sites for RV’s, vans, and tents. They had full hooks available. Lots of room between sites. I enjoyed my stay.

Save yourself the hassle if in an RV! Four spots to be level (with tires touching the ground), the RV part was an after thought and it shows. Didn’t feel welcome, run by cranky teenagers. Thanks goodness our neighbor had a weed eater, grass up to knees everywhere.

We stayed at Zion Ponderosa Ranch, in the tent only loop, site 11, from 6/10-6/15. The site was large, had decent views, plenty of shade and was fairly close to the bathroom/shower house. The campground was very large and full. Arriving on a Saturday was a bit alarming at the state of the bathrooms-this place gets slammed on weekends and the staff can not keep up. Conditions were much better on the weekdays. Most neighbors honored quiet time. Firewood, ice, water and dishwashing station available. Showers were...camp showers...but welcome. Overall, too many people for my liking, but not a bad campground.

I booked this campground because of the proximity to Zion, and because of the great reviews. I cannot comprehend how it has received such favorable reviews. The resort itself seemed decent enough, a lot of activities if you are into that kind of thing. But the tent campground itself is not worth staying in, when there are many other options in the area, which are likely way less expensive. It was so bad that we drove in, took one look at our campsite, drove around the rest of the loop to see if there was something that might work better for our needs, and then left. It was clear that the campground was, at best, an afterthought to the resort. Gigantic groups stuffed into the sites, loads of vehicles, a pit bull tied up by a rope. Loud music. Worst campground we've been to, and we camp frequently. Totally not worth any amount of money.

Oh wowie this place was awesome. HUGE POOL with water slides really impressed me. Tons of showers and toilets so no waiting around. The tent sites are a bit close together but I’m not complaining because everyone stayed quiet. Free access to activity equipment to check out. For the location and price I was thoroughly impressed with my stay.

This site really has it all! The basics are great (hot showers, clean toilets, laundry, shop), and lots of extras (two hot tubs, two pools which were a blessing after long days hiking in Zion) and a really good restaurant.

There are also lots of activities on offer which we were less interested in but great if you are interested in that. I think you could do hikes of the Eastern part of the park from the campground. Do be aware that to get to the most popular hikes in the park, it is a 45 min drive back to the visitors centre and then the shuttle bus in peak seasons. Alternatively this site is well positioned for quieter but still beautiful hikes of the East rim.

This campground was perfect for our large group! We were a short drive to Zion entrance which made hiking daily easy. Restrooms were super clean!

Had the opportunity to camp here and I cant wait to go back. Excellent facilities, perfect for families.

Beautiful resort, deer everywhere, tons of activities, mini golf, 2 pools and 2 hot tubs, heated bathrooms and showers, restaurants food wasn't very good but the staff was super friendly. It was really cold in October, snowed shortly after arrival. Our site was huge, had 2 fire pits and a picnic table. Not too far from the bathroom. We stayed at site 10 but 11 had the best views in my opinion. Observation point trail is here plus more!

Great location for entry into the park, and quick to responded for needs dry camped and loved it

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. All sorts of different styles of camping, glamping, or staying in a lodge available. Great amenities, although we spent so much time in Zion hiking that we didn't make use of even half of what there is to offer at the resort. We will be back.

This resort has all sorts of options from tent camping to large lodges that can sleep 30+ people. You can sleep in a wagon, a cabin, your own RV, a tent, a hammock, whatever floats your boat. Pools are nice even if a little small. Lots of amenities and fun stuff to do. We only stayed 4 days and spent so much time in Zion that we didn't make use of all the amenities like I wanted. The resort was full and so busy that they had a hard time keeping up with housekeeping in the lodge and fully picking up trash around, but otherwise it was great. Staff was very friendly. We had a great time there and plan another big family event there again. I highly recommend this ranch. You won't be bored unless you want to be bored. There is so much to do and it is in a fabulous location.

We stayed in one of the “Cowboy Cabins”. The cabin itself was clean and cozy! The facilities are likewise clean and there are tons of activities right on property. The recreation room is fantastic for antsy teens! The on-site restaurant was tasty and a nice option if you don’t feel like cooking yourself. We highly recommend this resort.

Site 32 Probably one of the biggest site on the property for tent camping. In the summer time this would be my go to site. About 40min drive from the west side of Zion National Park. It’s ok though, the drive was very scenic with many photo stops and hiking trails. Inside the resort, you have a restaurant, tennis courts, basketball courts, clean bathrooms, and nice showers. I went during March after a snow storm but 3 nights was doable. I would go back to Zion Ponderosa in a heart beat.

Stay more than 2 days. So much to do and experience we had an amazing time. It was my boyfriends first time camping and he really enjoyed the experience. Also the staff at the resort is incredible and very friendly!

The cowboy cabjns here are really, really cute. The location is great, the property is beautiful, the showers are nice, and I’m sure all the amenities (pool, mini golf, etc) are really fun, I just didn’t use them. I would definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in the tent sites, some of the sites were small. But we had a ton of room

We were just looking for a place to sleep, checked out the first camping outside of Zion east entrance and decided to check out the next closest one according to info from the Zion ranger. Info said 2 miles, but more like 7-8. Upon arrival my kids eyes lit up and we booked 3 mid week nights. Free, private hot showers. Dish was station. Free pool and hot tub, ball sports, playground and fitness trail. Pay for stuff like bungie trampoline and rock wall and put put. 2 camp stores recently equipped, even individual beers(4%). Our site was a little small, tent was to close to the fire ring to feel comfortable with a fire. We peaked at the glamping tents and were jealous, maybe next time. Great spot at $30 a night plus taxes etc.

We finished out our Spring Break Outdoor recreation trip by clamping in one of the canvas tents at Ponderosa. I'd never been so excited to sleep in a bed. We slept with 5 people in each tent. The tents were accommodated with 4 beds (2 twin, 1 Queen, and 1 pull-out couch). We were provided with a power strip for phone charging as well as electricity, extra blankets, and towels.

While we were too tired to take advantage of all the activities offered at the resort, we spent a good amount of time in the hot tub and pool which we had all to ourselves. We then finished out the evening by cooking burgers over the fire and taking showers.

We woke up the next morning to a light dusting of snow, but were not cold during the night. We then enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast which was very nice, especially after having to wake early and make our own food over a temperamental stove each morning.

All in all, Ponderosa was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it (Plus it's located literally just outside of the Zion Park border).

Lots of fun for kids. Horseback riding, putt putt golf, pad boards, cabins, tents and Rv sites.

Great facility with plenty of amenities. Everything from tent camping all the way to cabins. we go back every year if not twice a year. Located to plenty of outdoor adventures

The Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is a large area with cabins, yurts, a lodge and a campground. The campground is located away from the resort features which we appreciated, so that is was a little more of an authentic camping experience. We still had access to the resort features including a pool, restaurant, and activities to sign up for, which could be a nice feature for some people. The campground area had a small store and great bathrooms and showers. Our site was fairly small but large enough for our small tent and car as well as a fire pit and picnic table.

The tent sites are well spaced and surrounded by trees. The showers were clean and plenty of hot water. There was potable water and a dish sink at the shower house. The pool and hot tubs were an awesome bonus. I enjoyed eating at the restaurant onsite even though it has limited hours. The coffee shop is open all day though! Great place to stay you really can’t beat it at 14 bucks a night!
