Childhood memories

This is a great park to go camping, swimming at their nice pool, great fishing in the nolichucky river, but very dangerous river , DO NOT SWIM IN. but overall great place.

David Crockett is a small State Park, however there is a lot of attention to detail put into this historical area. The drive in follows the TN “Sunnyside Early Country Trail” through picturesque farmland with mountains in the near distance. Do your shopping before arrival, there’s nothing close to the park. Definitely a good park for young families, enough stuff to explore and things to do without a lot of traffic. You can easily hike all the trails in a day. The story book trail is short but fun. The area offers an amphitheater, swimming pool, playground, shelters, archery range, boat ramp and fishing right by the campground. Then there’s the Homestead to wander through and learn about. Mostly flat with a few easy climbs and rolling meadows.

The campground is surprisingly large, level sites, that are close together, not much room for toys. A small tent area that is adjacent to one of the shelters, which works well for meal prep if it’s not reserved. The showerhouse is at the front of the campground easy walking distance from the tent area and well maintained . There’s a store in the campground with attached pavilion.

Good for relaxed recreation time.

Great place for a family getaway

We try to bring our family here at least once a year. The park staff are awesome and the park rangers here are great. I would recommend this park to anyone who's is looking for a peaceful getaway.

Great riverside campground

Very nice, but small sites. Full hookups and wifi at a state park, which is nice. Historic area with demonstrations and visitor center. Beautiful hiking trail by the river and riverside sites

Clean, Quiet and Scenic

We stopped for just one night but this is a site you'd want to plan for more. The sites are level and a nice distance apart. The trails are nice and the river makes this site ideal. There is a museum and welcome center with information on Davey Crockett and the area along with a playground and lots of room to roam. The bathhouse and laundry are clean and modern and Camp Host John was friendly and offered any assistance we might require. The site has a replica of Davey Crockett's cabin which was interesting and thought provoking for history buffs like us. The site has recycle ♻️ containers located in the park and that gives bonus points in my opinion👍. The drive to the site is off the main road with hills and turns but with the scenery along the way, you won't mind.

Fun... Enough

Just a very small campground, seems to be family friendly with just enough amenities. There's a playground, sand boxes and paved semi level RV pads. I wouldn't come back but the place is very quiet. If you're into that...

Very Nice State Park

This park is right on the banks of the Nolichuckey river. It had nice trails for hiking. There is river access for fishing or launching a water craft. We were there in December when the weather was chilly and practically had the place to ourselves. The bathhouse was exceptionally nice and there was also laundry and wifi available.

Wonderful

Well kept and beautiful. Very relaxing with the sounds of the river. Full hook up we’re reasonably priced. We are looking forward to a return trip.

Relaxing and Quite

Nice campground with full amenities. Have stayed here at least 2 X per year the last several years. Restrooms/Bathhouses are always clean. This is a small Park, but they always have something going on in season.

Nice, quiet place!

This campground was a good find. Right on the river, not too crowded, and plenty of space between sites. Sites were nice and level. Bathhouses were good! The park was surprisingly small. But if you need a spot to camp in the area I would recommend this campground. (We were in a pop-up camper)

Car camping

This is a good kid friendly car camping spot. Lots of history and cabin replicas from Davy Crockett era. A joke along the banks of the Nolichucky River and even a pool on site. There is a heritage village and museum that you can walk or drive through with reinactora on site.

girl scout trip

The camp grounds run right up against the river which makes for a nice view and are well kept. Haven't been able to check out the new pool renovations yet but I hear from good friends it's pretty nice. Playground is great and was perfect for our girl scout trip. There's also a sweet man who gives tours of the replica farm of David Crocket.. in character and costume. Clean bathrooms. Overall a great place to camp, particularly with kids.

Great family activities

Lots of pull through spaces for larger campers and small ones as well. Beautiful view of Nolichucky River. Large swimming pool, TONS of historical events around, hiking & river walks. Super clean and new bath houses as well. Honors Tennessee state discounts. If possible make reservations online.
