Okay stay
Pretty view. Kind of a bad smell. Bath houses are hit or miss
Busy campground
Enjoyed the area and the fishing very much. This campground is a very busy place though. Sites are pretty close together and there is a lot of people. There is a disc golf course that is almost on top of the “primitive “ camping area. Good price, I think it was 24$ per night for a tent. Decent shower and bathroom facilities. Great views of Lake Chickamauga.

Great views!
We enjoy this campground. There is plenty of lake access for boating, kayaking and swimming.
Nice campground very convenient to Chattanooga
We enjoyed our time here, mostly because we were at the end of the island and had very quiet neighbors. The lake is beautiful and honestly, any site on the island i think would be a good spot. The spots closer to the Ranger Station, are just packed too tight for us. The lake level was a little low because of winter pool, but the lake was still beautiful and even more walkable. Our spot had descent wifi provided by the campground. The electric pole and water spigot were very new and worked as expected. The website said our spot was level, it is NOT but it wasn't too bad. The tongue of our trailer was only about 8 inches off the ground when we finally got it level. While i totally understand the check in time is 2, i've never been to a campground that wouldn't allow you in(within reason) if you got there a little early. That said, it did warn us not to get there early on the website. We got there 20 minutes early, trying to beat the rain and they made us wait til 2 to checkin. I do think it could be a better park if they updated the bathroom by the graveyard and made a few other improvements but i do think they're working on it. I did like having a park trash can beside each site. The picnic table was in nice shape as was the grill and the whole outdoor area at our site. We would definitely consider staying here again.

New to RVing
We bought a new RV and wanted to try it out close to home. We liked the place so much we have already booked two more stays there this year
Nice Campground
I really like Chester Frost campground.
Beautiful Views, great place to experience Chattanooga
Found this place because it was so close to Chattanooga, we used a primitive tent site right on the water our first night. The only problem with this was the wind was very strong that night coming across the water. It's a beautiful view but didn't get much sleep. Was able to transfer to a better site inland for 15$. There isn't a shop to buy firewood or other things(at the time of writing) and the bathrooms were just ok.
Quality time
We stayed 14 days in spot 21 and another 14 days in spot 16. Both spots are right at the waterfront. We especially liked spot 16 and would come back anytime.

Cramped and no sewer hookup. Nice lake views and access.
Very tight spaces. Some sites don’t have enough space to extend a large awning. Would be much better with full hookup (sewer).
Waterfront Tranquility
Our stay at Chester Frost was amazing. We stayed on site 172. We could not be happier with our choice. The campsite was very spacious, quiet and one of the best views! The sites that are waterfront are spread out really well. This is the most quiet campground we have ever stayed at, at one point we talked about feeling like we were the only people there. We were not the only people there, it was quite full. The campground provides so many recreational opportunities. They have a frisbee golf course, playgrounds, walking trails, beach, easy access to the water and fields to start up any activity you desire. We read about uneven campsite but ours was pretty flat. Bathhouse were fabulous. They have individual shower rooms, and the restrooms are up to date with contactless toilets, sinks and hand dryers. The showers and bathrooms were cleaned frequently. The sites do not have a grill but have a picnic table and a fire-pit. The wildlife is very active! The first morning we woke up to deer on our campsite, no better way to wake up! The raccoons scavenging spooked us too one night. There were ten right outside our trailer when I stepped out one night 🤣.
We definitely we stay here again with no hesitation. We loved it and it has moved to the top of our list of places to stay again!

Not too shabby
Our spot 65 was level with a view of lake but not on the water.
Chester Frost Park offers an Indian summer feeling to its guests
Chester Frost offers its guests Supreme tent sites along with RV spots where the smell of the RVs are never present the layout of the land on the lake and river give you the feeling of a place you never want to leave paved riding biking in Walking path Satan actually grow with the land bath towels in showers are plentiful clean I can only put it it's heaven on Earth I must place for any outdoor lover to Mark as a place they will always want to come back to
My go-to campground
Beautifully kept campground. Tons of room to walk and play. Great swimming and fishing. Boating is huge here Bc there are docks all around the campground to pull up to. Playgrounds everywhere. Nice, new bathhouse on the island at the back of campground. Affordable place to stay a few nights. Believe it’s 21 for water and electric RV sites. Dump stations throughout park. I use the BIG one at the entrance/exit of park, nobody ever there 👌🏻. Rangers patrol this place every 30 minutes at least. Very safe place. Try and grab a spot that I marked on the map, you’ll have tons of shade and close access to all the good stuff!

Good Family Weekend
This is a good campground with lots of amenities for families with kids. Multiple playgrounds, access to a beach and lakefront areas. “Buffalo Run” area offers great views of the lake but with a packed in site location. Hope your neighbors aren’t too noisy or smelly in this area! :) Other site locations offer wooded and more spacious options. 3 bathhouses near Buffalo run range from YUCK to nice... don’t recommend the bathhouse closest to the tent only sites.

Great
Normally pretty crowded but great place for picnics, family gathering, water play and more. Definitely family friendly.
Nice, and close to home
Beautiful views, waterfront sites, good fishing!
Chester Frost
We love Chester Frost and usually go once a year. Fishing, boating, kayaking, playgrounds, WiFi. Some of the bathhouses are kinda gross but they just built a nice, new bathhouse. There is a beach area open to the public just a short drive away. They just added a cool new floating obstacle course to play on for an extra fee. Campsites are nice but no sewage hook ups and some of the sites seem cramped. Try to get a waterfront site!

Gem of a campground, minutes from the city
The campgrounds are spread across two islands, many sites are directly on the water. There are a few sites that are basically in the middle of a parking lot with no shade any time of day. Anything water-adjacent is a great spot.
There’s a fairly new 9-hole disc golf course, several boat docks, and a couple of pavilions available.
Hamilton County residents get a discounted rate on site rental.

Great TN state park
Wonderful camping spot. Definitely would recommend to a friend
Camping and boating
One of the best places to be able To camp and boat. We where at Chester Frost for July 4th. Love staying on the lake front and watching the sun set.
Great Lake sites
Great lake side sites with fantastic view. Fishing dock and playground. Very convenient to Chattanooga.
Nice
Nice place to stay. Just do not like the minimum night stays for the best spots.
Kids wonderland!
This place is definitely somewhere you wanna bring your kids they would love it! There is a man made beach with a playground and loads of camping lots next to the river!
Awesome place
Great place to camp Gave it 4 stars for the waterfront camping The bathhouse however is a 2 at best needs to be updated.

Lovely lakefront sites
We stayed 1 night in site 17, a lakeside back in with W/E, firepit and a picnic table. Short walk to the bathhouse.
Ok camping for family fun
Gold camp sites. Big swimming area bath houses need work done
Nice camping area.
Looks like a beautiful area to camp! We go out the alot and use the day u beach and we fish too. :)
Quiet and peaceful, just stay away during mayfly spawning.
Clean well run campground. Quiet and peaceful. Nicely maintained trash cans near each site. Sites near the lake have easy acces to the water.
Just Enough
This is a park you go to if you're wanting a quick weekend get away near the lake. There's nothing that super stands out on a campground like this. It has a place to put tents and RVs but it definitely keeps it simple.
