Wonderful location, Very well maintained, lots to do

We stayed at site 97. We we're close to neighbors on either side but it wasn't noticeable. Not too much traffic of people going in and out. The river ran close enough to our site that we didn't feel like we needed a premium spot. Plenty of spots for swimming or tubing if you drop in upstream. This site was okay for backing in, it was at a 90 degree angle with the path. It is all gravel so just keep that in mind. There was a slight 1-2 degree slope to the right. Very close to the bathrooms and trash. Bathrooms were amazing. The site had okay Verizon cell service with 2 bars around 30-40mbps. The campground wifi worked okay, but it dropped signal quite frequently. I would recommend downloading offline maps, as there is little cell service between the Campground and downtown Gatlinburg. We loved how close the campground was to the national park and downtown, but still isolated to make you feel like you were in the mountains. Overall the campground had great amenities, really awesome service from the staff, and was a quiet mountain getaway.

Absolutely stunning campground! My young family of six were instantly impressed when we pulled in and there were bounce houses, multiple playgrounds, a gagaball court, volleyball court, basketball court, game room, oh, AND a lazy river with a swimming hole! The sites were clean and spacious enough for our 31' TT and truck. They conveniently have a general store nearby and the Gatlinburg shuttle comes throughout the day for easy access to downtown (this is free to use and no carseats were required for the littles). This campground was peaceful and quiet, surrounded by the river and trees and scenic views of the mountains. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and well kept. Facilities were spotless! The only complaint I had was the laundry was a bit pricey and inefficient, but everything else made this just a minor inconvenience and didn't detract from our experience. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again! Highly recommend!

Perfect

This campground is perfect for a trip to the Smokey Mountains. We drove from Maine and have enjoyed everything about it. The super clean campground as well a very clean private bathrooms with free showers. They have a trolley that runs several times a day which is great if you wanna go downtown and do some shopping or go to one of the several tasting spots. Great little spot to go swimming and several free things for kids to do. Two giant blow up slides, basket ball, corn hole are just a few.

It’s nice, but…

So for the price we paid, it’s so not worth it. The spots are right on top of each other and this place is crowded. The staff is pretty friendly and they do have a cute playground for kids, but I didn’t pay for a playground. I guess it’s not what we were expecting or looking for. We like more nature views and less people views.

Even better 2nd time here!

Greenbrier has improved their campground even more. This time we stayed in the “new” front area. The sites are bigger and water front. There’s a new bathhouse with several individual bathrooms. The dog park is near this area as well as a swimming area on the river. It’s a short walk to the office/store and all the activities they offer. It’s quiet, peaceful, close enough to Gatlinburg to get there and back easily, and has a trolley that takes you on and out of downtown. There was music one night, BINGO, another night and an Ice Cream truck and Kona Truck came through every evening. Use Google maps to look at sites for width. Some are wider than others. Wifi is great for to one who need that.

Beautiful Scenery

We had a river spot and it was gorgeous. I will say that the lots are close to one another and it is not very private but it was pretty hot and we didn't hang outside by the camper much. Most of the time we were at the playground or beach. The river water is ice cold! A shock to the system after 100 degree days haha. Once you just plunge in it is wonderful. The campground is about 20 minutes from Gatlinburg which is a plus to me. Much more quiet and less populated of an area. The landscaping at this campground is gorgeous, they work hard on it for sure. There are big boulders that line the camps roads which were a little obnoxious maneuvering around when backing in but nothing that terrible.

Excellent except…

So, the location is great. The bath houses are great. The customer service is great.

But the sites are sooooo small and tight, and the cost is… quite a bit. Not saying the cost isn’t fair considering the amenities (and activities, although it was too cold when we went for that), but if you’re just looking for a place to sleep while exploring Gatlinburg, then you aren’t necessarily getting your full money’s worth.

We stayed on sites 70 and 71.

Wonderful Private Campground close to Smoky Mountain National Park

I was not expecting to enjoy our stay at Greenbrier Campground as I booked it simply because nothing in the National Park was available (it was a weekend). Boy was I wrong! The park was clean, quiet, and right on a stream - absolutely LOVELY! They also offered activities for kids, wonderful hot shower rooms, a laundry room. and gas grills for anyone to use! The first day we went out sightseeing and came back to find our camp chairs were gone. We reported it to the office and they were so concerned they actually gave us new chairs to replace them!! Above and beyond the call of duty there! I will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area!

Quiet River Camp

Great campground for anyone staying in the Gatlinburg area. The river sites are nice and during the winter when the leaves are down you can even get river views from some of the other sites. Sites are wide and provide good privacy. Greenbrier grocery is a cool general store with good local honey from the Greenbrier Bee Company. It’s located just across 321. There is also a good coffee shop heading towards Cosby called The Barista’s Daughter. Be careful trusting your navigation getting around in the area. 454 is not particularly trailer friendly and seems to be a default route for most GPS. Unless you’re local and know the roads, it’s probably best to stick to the main routes.

Great river front location close to the NP

We stayed 3 nights in the Baby Bear bell tent with our small children and it was perfect. We ended up arriving later than expected and the hosts were wonderful. Very nice and helpful our whole stay. The river front bell tents are where it’s at! You’re a few steps from a small babbling creek. The kids loved wading and catching minnows. Even when it rained, the tent was comfortable and roomy. I can’t say enough great things about how clean the bath and shower houses are! Close enough to Gatlinburg and the National Park entrances, yet far from the crazy crowds. Would definitely return here.

Island in the mountains

This has been one of our favorites thus far in our full time rv journey. The campground itself is beautiful and completely surrounded on all sides by the Little Pigeon river. We originally had a premium off river site but could still access the river behind our site via a short walk through the trees. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay a few days, since our site was booked we were able to book a premium on river site and it has not disappointed. The campground also has other nice amenities including nice bathhouses, campground store, laundry (albeit a little pricey), and plenty of outdoor stuff to keep the kids busy. If you have friends visiting there are cabins and RVs for rent. My favorite is the vintage trailer in the attached video. This campground is close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to enjoy all the activities the cities have to offer but far enough removedthat you can enjoy the peace of the flowing river. One of our favorite places to eat was Alamo steakhouse and is located 5 minutes from the campground. There are so many things to do in the surrounding area and the campground store has pamphlets displayed in front of store to peruse. We choose horseback riding, white water rafting, Ole Smokey tour and moonshine tasting, and a murder mystery dinner (that’s all we were able to fit in, most things will have to be scheduled in advance).

The campground is also located right off of the popular arts and crafts trail that includes over a 100 artist of various disciplines. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and worth a stay.

This was a great place for families to get together but unfortunately they became money hungry and are charging double the prices for sites. We will use this place but it’s not worth it for the money now. There is one guy that works the front desks and he is as grumpy as grumpy gets. Have fun going broke. They had a contest where if you shared their page you could get early access to booking. However when you got early access to booking he realized the price had doubled from last year’s prices and all you did was advertise for them no special perks  or anything

Campground is very well maintained. Our group was in tents, campers and the only cabin on property. The tent sites are a little tight and fire pits in slightly odd places with proximity to the tent pads. The fire pit grills worked beautifully. The swimming hole was a blessing durning the hot days! (Think ice bucket challenge). The tubing was fun for the older kids and adults. Best kept secret was the free arcade room in AC with couches to boot. The laundry room was fine. The bath houses were awesome with individual rooms equipped with toilet, sink and shower. I would definitely return in the future.

A larger campground with a smaller feel

Staying in site 1, downsides would be its right at the entrance, however we do have a small pebbled creek running behind our site. The creek runs along the backside of most sites at this campground and leads into a large swimming hole in the back corner. The hole has a few large rocks that can be jumped off of and you can also bring your own or purchase a tube to float down the mini rapids. Camp store is very well equipped and staff is friendly. Close to lots of Gatlinburg fun. Large trees in each site and throughout grounds. WiFi is OK, cell service is OK, not great. We’ve certainly been places where these are worse. Trout fishing abounds with the river being restocked every other week. Charcoal grill and fire pit and nice picnic table on each site. Bathhouses are very clean and have individual rooms with toilets and showered.

Easy to get to coming from I-40 as long as you follow the directions on their website and not GPS.

We’re loving our time at Greenbrier!

Great campground but a bit pricey

We stayed here for a week in May and had a great time. Wonderful site, very good distance between sites. We weren't on the island but on the newer area and the sites were large and spacious. However, on the island they were a bit closer. Overall, we really liked the site. The bathrooms were amazing and kept very clean!

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was a bit pricey. But I guess you get what you pay for.

Amazing location in the Smokies

We stayed for a week on an RV back in site. The sites can be soemwhat close together, but with this mostly just being home base, we didn’t find it to be a problem. Our oldest rented a bell tent, and when I say they are the cutest camping spot, I am not exaggerating. The bell tents sit on the river and away from all the RV sites. They even include 2 full size beds and lamps/nightstands. The entire grounds is surrounded by a river that has a swimming hole and can be traversed in a tube. The playground is large and our son was there multiple times a day. They have a movie in the park each Friday and offer church services on Sundays. The trolley runs through the grounds and into downtown gatlinburg, but takes about 30 minutes to get to town. The bathrooms/showers are all private stalls and pretty well maintained. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.
