Big playground at the entrance. Clean bathrooms. Mowed and maintained very well. Full hook ups. Great place.

Good camper ground in Spearfish plenty to go and see but sites are close

A beautiful and well-kept campground! Very grassy. The spots are pretty close together compared to what we’re used to in state parks, but I would absolutely return. My kids loved the creek that runs through the campground and the fact that we could walk to the city playground. Very close to historic downtown Spearfish! The staff was super helpful and sweet.

Super quiet. Checkin was a bit confusing for a tent site since no one was at the checkin cabin. We talked to some campers and they said to reserve a “spot” online and then find a place to pitch a tent in the shaded area on the map. 🤷‍♂️

This is a beautiful campground.  The grounds are just about spotless.  The RV sites are pretty small with maybe 6 ft between campers.  The tent sites are quite spacious.

Great little community campground, something for everyone. Full hook-ups 45/night, dry camping 30/night, tent 25/night. Dump station and fresh water $5 charge if not camping.

Nice quite camping next to a beautiful fish hatchery. Lots to do in this Beautiful town some site are super tight for large RV’s

Nice city campground along Spearfish Creek and super close to downtown and has easy access to Spearfish Canyon. We definitely took advantage of the creek and proximity to downtown during our stay.

More like a campground in a city park. Seeing some awesome reviews so I'm glad I found this place we didn't need any power hook up so they stuck our little teardrop in with the tents. Showers is a big plus we needed a place with that after coming back from Devils Tower and mount Rushmore. Place even has a cute little brook that runs through

This busy campground is located in Spearfish city near the National Fish Hatchery.  Sites vary from full hookups (FHUs) to tent sites.  The more spacious sites with some FHUs are along the creek. The middle RV sites were a bit more crowded together.  Decent WiFi and Verizon cell phone signals.  Be aware that they turn the water off 1 Oct, but the price for sites drops.

We enjoyed our stay at this very busy and crowded campground. The area is beautiful and there is a creek that runs around edges and the fish hatchery to tour across the street.  Sites are very close and there were lots of unattended barking dogs in the morning and evenings we stayed as a rally going on. Bathrooms and showers were nice but they need a path so you don't have to walk all the way around the campsite loop at night and in the rain.  

Spend a day driving Spearfish canyon and hiking to waterfalls.

Always clean, great showers, quiet at night and it cools off wonderfully all summer.

One of our favorite spots by far! The campground has two creeks that surround the entire camp. People fly fishing right in camp, very cool to watch. The let us pull our van right down next to the bigger creek, so our chair we right on the water. Right on the edge of town next to a must see fish hatchery. We will definitely be coming back here.

Lovely campground close to 90 but a beauty of a city park. Well maintained and very clean. Along a scenic river with a paved path. Mature trees and level spots. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because the RV spots are very tight and there are street lights through out which we had spot 11 and were directly under one.

Bad cell service so far but nice place and not far from places I can go to work

This place was amazing. This campground was so calm and quiet. When camping their is a small calm swimming stream that runs right through the campground. If you get bored the campground is right next to the fish hatchery and a big park. There is also a bike path and some small mountain bike trails.

Such a great city campground. Beautiful scenery & a creek that runs through. Walkable to downtown spearfish. Spots are a little tight, but overall a great campground.

This campground is unbelievable. It’s a few blocks from downtown with showers. It was $25 night for tenting. Most campsites had fire rings and picnic tables. Very busy - but super friendly and safe. Drove about 15 min to Deadwood and about an hour to Mt Rushmore. I will come back.

You cannot find a place to camp more darling than this. Clean, spacious, affordable. Staff was great. Bike paths were awesome and plentiful. You can bike all across town. Fish Hatchery entertaining and wonderful. Don’t miss driving 14A for spectacular views. The town is cute. Entire experience was beautiful.

Like the title says, this campground on the edge of Spearfish is very well maintained and quite beautiful. Unfortunately the RV/Camper section is extremely cramped...the distance between sites is mere feet. The creek is very peaceful but oh is it cold!

We ended up going during sturgis bike week (unplanned). The campers around us were very nice and everyone was helpful getting us setup. The campground was kept up really nice and everything was very clean.

Place was empty. Very well kept and enjoyable. Love the creek going through. It was full so lots of wonderful sound.

I'll definitely be staying at this campground on my next visit to the Black Hills. Very nice for tent camping or boondocking with a small trailer. If you are looking for full RV hookups, they do have them but the RV sites are a bit tighter than I might prefer.

We tent camped here for a night. All tent sites are given out on a first come first serve basis. We got a quiet spot along the Spearfish River for $25/night. This campground has an awesome bathroom and shower which require a code to access. Definitely will stay here again.

Camped on a Sunday and there were plenty of open spots in the tent camping area. Everyone had plenty of room and a short walk to the restrooms/showers. Best part of this campsite is the creek that flows literally through the sites. Would highly recommend. No reservations for the primitive sites. Very friendly staff.

We stayed at this campsite for one night on our way down to Mount Rushmore, it was a Thursday night early September. We picked a site near the back of the camp grounds located near the creek and close to a small parking lot (close by to the pet exercise area on the map - though it's labelled as an ice rink on grounds). From this site, we were close to the bathrooms (which had both toilet stalls and shower stalls) and drinking water. The campground is quite large, with a lot of space for RVs and tent-campers as well. As a primitive camper, we were located quite close to other campers but everyone was respectful and we slept peacefully through the night. Each primitive campsite had a nearby picnic table, that was great for meal times. Being next to the creek was additionally peaceful, as we could hear the water through the night (which I enjoyed, though other sites are far enough away that you don't have to hear the water if you wouldn't want to).

The camp grounds is located close to the DC Booth Hatchery which is an interesting piece of the local history, and provided us with the opportunity to see some Rainbow Trout.

On the way out of the campgrounds, we were presented with an incredible opportunity to see a large bird of prey making off with a large Trout in its talons.

Great for family camping, or for a place to stop for a few nights but not what you're looking for if you're hoping to be out in the back woods.

Facilities are really nice I won’t lie, we just didn’t like how close every site was and how crowded it felt. Had two nights reserved cancelled after the first to find something more our style. Cancel by 11am for refund.

This is run by the City of Spearfish along the banks of Spearfish Creek. Real close to stores and I-90. Found this CG at the last minute one evening out of necessity. Plenty of drive up sites for campers/RVs or tents. Not too many sites have trees for hammocks, though it is shady. Sites are close together, so if you don't mind making camp friends this is perfect. Clean and well maintained. Our site had the creek running through it, which was great for relaxing.

Weekends are much busier than the week. Fish hatchery within walking distance, bike path goes through.
