Great
Spacious, beautiful, clean, quiet, easy, and lots to do and see.
Just passing thru
Campground was a little difficult to find but once we arrived, its was very nice.
Nice campground close to home
This campground isn't too far from our home in Maryland, so if they have room and we want to go spur of the moment, this one is a good choice. The sites are fairly large and they do have some full hook up sites which is nice. The bathhouses are ok....because this one is not as off the beaten path, I think a lot of people that really don't know campground etiquette come here. We find that people don't understand quiet after 10PM and so forth. Like I said, it's just a nice place to get away to.

Lots of Options
Older State Park just outside of Hanover, PA. Used it as a home base to explore Gettysburg and the surrounding area. Our site was in an open area in Loop D, but plenty of electric wooded sites available as well. Easy access to fresh water on the way in as well as various spigots inside the park. Verizon signal not great for streaming, but adequate for all else.

A Favorite
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. We camp with a pop up camper and stay in loop C. Bathrooms are clean, sites are spacious, and we’ve never had an issue with noise, even when all the sites were full. There’s a lot to do in the area. Tons of hiking, exploring along the lake, and Gettysburg within a 30 minute drive.
Great but many unlevel sites
We stayed Memorial Day weekend here because it’s so close to home. Our 1st ever RV camping was here 4 yrs ago. This time we’re in loop B site 79. It was fairly level but our front was as low as it could go. The worst part of the site was side to side space was very narrow. Our steps were just a couple feet from a steep slope that went down to our picnic table and fire pit. We didn’t use that area since our relatives were in site 78 which had a nicer area. It was super quiet with the exception of the few barking dogs. One sounded like it was being mauled and barked all day. The overall campground offers a lot to do. There’s a pool, splash pad, disc golf, Lake Marburg, a small museum, and lots of activities for kids planned. It’s near Hanover PA with the UTZ factory (tours Mon - Thur) outlet store, and near Gettysburg, PA. There are 4 loops, and loop B has some full hook up sites(look at sites in the 50s). The weather was perfect! Bath house was nice enough. Great trails for hiking and riding mountain bikes. Fishing allowed. We even found a look out point. We’ll be back again someday!

Not so nice campground
I had the worst time here, definitely do not recommend coming here
Full Hook up!
We stayed in the full hook up sites this year and loved it! Bath houses were still very clean and hardly used. Very quite towards the end of the season.

Good Campground, nice location.
First camping trip in decades. Had a blast with 3 young kids. Had full hookup. Lots to do around the park.
Camp store is tiny but stocked with everything you might forget. Great worship service on Sunday morning and they had activities for the kids.
Had some loud neighbors and sites are very close together. No real pad. Rangers came by, talked to neighbors, didnt help much but nice to see a presence. Overall a good time. Kids loved the playground and was close to our site.
A good, clean campground— but not super private.
I had a pleasant experience at Codorus State Park Campground during my 3 day stay. Me and my partner stayed at Codorus mid-October 2022 and booked during this week specifically to experience the peak fall foliage of the area.
After arriving at Codorus, we checked in at the visitor station which was quick and easy. After arriving to our campsite, we were quick to set up camp so that we could head to the camp store and purchase our firewood for the night. Upon arrival to the site (loop A, site 36), I noticed how close together the sites were, I specifically booked this site at Codorus because based on the photos on the website, it seemed quite secluded. However, in person, it felt somewhat crowded.
The camp store (near the visitor center) was small but seemed to have everything that a camper may need during their trip. They have two options for bags of firewood, including a small bag and a large bag. We found that the large bag was barely enough for a decent campfire, so plan on bringing enough money to purchase a couple bags at a time (the store accepts cash and card). The camp store (at least in October) is only open On Fridays and Saturdays from around 2:30-7, so plan accordingly. Any other time, firewood and ice and can be purchased right next door at the 24-hour fire and ice store. Here, campers can purchase firewood for $10 a bin. Make sure you bring cash when purchasing fire or ice from the kiosk, as you must leave your money in the slot when purchasing.
The rangers at Codorus were not too nosey or too big of sticklers. Occasionally, rangers would ride by our camp site a few times every hour, but did not bother us. The bathrooms located by the sites are super clean, which was a big plus. Water spouts are located throughout the campground for clean water.
During our stay, we hiked the Mary Ann Furnace Trail. This trail led to the lake, which is especially beautiful during the Fall season. If your group is looking for something to do, you are able to rent boats to take on the lake. There is also an amphitheater and a playground for the kids.
Overall, Codorus State Park Campground is a great place to stay. Personally, I prefer my campgrounds to be more secluded so I would likely find a new campground to try, but if you are not too worried about that then you will have a wonderful experience.

Lake access, kid friendly hiking, decent facilities
Camped with the kids once (6 and 4yo) and with another family and kids the second. Site 33 was recommended because of the shade, vicinity to bathrooms, and no grade, all of which are good for kids in tow. Kayaked the lake, rented a pontoon the second time around. Both were great. You can't swim in the lake due to vacillating levels, so that's one bummer. Hiking was good. Lots of trails, kid friendly too. Love the little general store and friendly people there. The facilities are otherwise fine—bathrooms are decent. Overall it's a great place to camp with the kids.

Plenty of space
Campsites had plenty of room. Lots of hiking nearby as well as the lake and the pool
Peaceful and spacious
This state park is very quiet and clean. The sites were the biggest we've seen in our 20 plus years of camping. We had so much room for our kids and dogs to play it was fantastic. The lake was big enough for boating and kayaking along with fishing and hiking. We had a great time checking out the nature trails and the amphitheater. This place is very large and so are the sites. Facilities are pretty nice and your basic state park amenities. We were very happy and can't wait to come back and go into town to check out the potato chip factory tour in Hanover.

Huge Sites
Love it here!! Nice big flat sites, lots of shared common areas. Heavily wooded in the sites we stayed in but there are some that are out in the open without many trees. Nearby hiking that was rather flat, easy for children to navigate. Allowed you to walk down to the lake and had beautiful views! Great for people would like water sports and fishing. Clean bath houses and dumpsters nearby. Only one dump station area so long lines on weekends trying to get out. Also a quick 12 minute drive to Camping World if you forget anything!

A great PA state park campground
We just returned from two nights at Codorus. We stayed at two different sites in the A loop, #18 and #31. Both were very shaded and large. There is a lot of space between most of the A loop sites which we prefer.
A loop is non electric sites and has a nice, clean bath house with warm showers.
The playground is over between the C and D loops, a pretty long walk from A loop which is the only real downside for my son and me.
Beautifully wooded
We stayed in B loop site 43 with electric hookups only. The site was wooded, clean and spacious with a picnic table and fire ring. We paddled in the big beautiful lake which had several different areas to launch. We saw squirrels, chipmunks, great blue heron, osprey, a bald eagle and ducks. We didn't fish, but saw several fishermen. We'll definitely be back.
Family Favorite
Love it here! Large sites, some recently updated. Nice and flat and easy to pull into. Great bath house with clean shower stalls. Dish washing station at shower house is very helpful. Nice playgrounds. When we went pool was closed but would love to try going in the summer so we could try it!

Nice campground for primitive tenting
Large campground but only 15 sites dedicated to“roughin’ it” tent camping. However, those sites are isolated from the others. The tent sites were in very good condition, spaced well, and fairly private. Most sites have plenty of shade and grassy, though a few are dirt only. Many sites within walking distance from the lake(no swimming) and set up for you to store and launch your kayak or other boat. Water, bathrooms, and showers a little distant but everything clean and in excellent condition. Ice and firewood available on the grounds. There is also a small store but I didn’t see it because it was open for very limited weekend hours only. Otherwise, major grocery stores are only a few minutes’ drive. Definitely going back…!
Great Stay
My family and I have camped here many times. The camp hosts are very friendly and will answer any questions. There are plenty of activities all around the area for all ages. There are activities inside the campground as well. Not far from convenience stores and general stores (Walmart). There is a camping world nearby. Firewood and Ice available within campground.
Most campsites have tent pads, but they could be bigger.
Nice campground for sure!
We got a spot for two nights in the pet area. We were shaded by trees, but the spots weren’t very private. Bathroom facilities are nice. We were right next to the big field and playground in spot 140.
Beautiful Lake
The campground has places to launch boats and kayaks. Nice bathrooms and hot showers. Small store for last minute items but nothing major in the way of groceries. Be aware that the sites that are not in the woods are very sloped and leveling could be an issue. Park was about 9 miles from the Heritage Rail Trail for biking. Fellow campers were very respectful and quiet. Enjoyed our visit.
Great place and location
The park is located on a beautiful lake. We picked loop A to stay in the woods. Campgrounds are nicely spaced and clean. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen at a park. There is a nice little shop at the gate with very friendly staff.
Very well maintained park.
Paved sites, modern, clean bathrooms.
Loved it!!
We camped at Codorus State Park for the first time a few years ago while out east. We really love this Campground! There is a wide variety of sites so finding one that you like should not be difficult, there are some in wide-open park-like settings, and some that are treed. For the most part we didn't notice any that really seem to be right on top of each other, but we think the site we got was the best one in the park. We were in 132, which was huge and had nice open flat areas for the tent, there were actually three spots that we could have put it on, and lots of trees to hang our hammocks and options for our tarps, but there was no chance of rain at all that weekend so we did not hang tarps. Those trees were bare however until very far up, so they did not afford any privacy, but we definitely were not on top of the people next door anyway so it was just how we like it. There is some hiking, not strenuous climbing mountains hiking, mostly easy, and the lake was the biggest attraction for me. Campground bath houses were very clean, nice hot showers with great showerhead that stayed on without pushing a button. Our site was close to the bath, a trail head, and field where we lay in the sun and played frisbee. We are definitely going back!

Great for a state park
I stay here for my first camp out with my new camper. No water but the bath house was close and very clean.
Perfect Family Camping
Nice campground. Very clean facilities. We typically stay in the primitive tent loop which is right on the lake. It can get a little busy on the weekends since there is a boat lauch at the end of the primitive lane, but some of the sites are secluded/set back enough to be private.
You can bring your own boat (gas allowed) or rent one from their marina. There is no swimming allowed in the lake but there is a pool located at the park, there is no extra cost to use the pool if you are at the campground. There are also a lot of trails available for hiking, biking, or riding horses.
This park has a lot that you can do or just relax by the fire. Perfect for families.
Great first weekend in our new RV
We took our maiden voyage in April to this camp ground since it was close to home. We’ve tented camped and pop up camped here prior so we knew the area. Beautiful weather! Great camp ground! We walked all over, watched crew races on the lake, drove into Hanover where there were stores and went to the Utz chips outlet. Our site was great and there was only 2 other campers within sight. There’s a huge pool though not open at that time. There is a marina to rent boats and a disc golf course. A small store at the marina has some essentials. There’s a nice nature center as well. Bath house was decent. Great place to camp!

Great campground and fishing
I went to Cordous State Park, outside of Hanover PA, with my 5 year old grandson. One night and two days, and we had a ball. I included lots of pictures in this review.
The lake has lots of game fish, as you can see by some of my pictures. There’s lots of places to fish from the shore, and boat rentals if you want to fish it deeper. The lake is overrun by white perch and shad. When you catch either, they want you to take them to eat, and not release them. We caught a stringer full, along with a nice small mouth bass that we released for another little angler to snag. I don’t think my grandson cared what kind of fish he caught. He had as much fun with the perch as the bass. He did say the bass was a real fighter, but he’s never caught a pike or walleye🙄.
Campgrounds are very nice. Not a lot of spaces for tents, but the ones they do have seem to be well shaded and quiet. Looks to me like 90% of their sites are set up for RV, and larger vehicles. They also have a few cabins, but I was told you have to reserve them far in advance. Showers and men’s rooms are nice. I can’t talk to the fairer sex side, since it was a trip for the boys.
Very kid friendly. They have playgrounds and other fun things for kids, including a huge pool with slide. You can’t swim in the lake. The pool opens when it gets warmer. Everything you need to fish or camp can be gotten in the park, but I brought everything we needed to save some money. They also have hiking trails, but I couldn’t do them since I’m ADA material. They do have lots of parking, with plenty of spaces for me and others that don’t walk so well.
If you want to eat a meal out, there’re a few places within 15 minutes, and a great family style place, called Friendly Farm, about 20 minutes south. Just in case you don’t want to cook👍.
It was my grandson’s first camping trip, and he’s hooked😁. I plan to take him up for a longer stay, and maybe do some day trip fishing there. I highly recommend this site. I’ll let you know if my rating changes when everyone else invades later this summer😖. For me it’s a short trip, so Tom and I can go there anytime. It’s open year round, but you got to leave at dusk.

Avoid in summer!!
This place is packed with history, but amid going in summer.. it gets to busy and hot to see much.
Codorus
Went camping here back in 16’ with my family. Campsites were not very private at all. the campground is a far walk from the marina and the pool. Picture is at a stop in the marina area.
