Transients and mosquitos but beautiful

Ive been here throughout the year at different times for many years and experienced a lot of mosquitoes and interesting transient people. Bring spray and long sleeves. They are worse near the water but spray keeps them away. :) You will meet some good people and not so good. Most will drive in after dark waking you up in the middle of the night then leave before light without paying but the few that stay have a story. A few incidents experienced would be Domestic violence, (that was scary) cats let out of trailers to hunt all over the park where you wake up with dead mice all over your camp site. Car alarms that wont stop and people walking through sites when residence are not present. Women changing in the open completely naked. (Cool but I have young kids 😱) Feels safe during the day and is beautiful but at night keep your stuff locked up and be open minded 😂 Worth it if your a people person and love nature.

Lots of mosquitoes

Beautiful campground and often not as packed as others, bathrooms are somewhat clean, no camp hosts, no running water, no wood. The campsites are nice and big with level ground. You are next to a small waterfall which produces a lot of LARGE mosquitoes. So be aware of this.

Secluded Beauty

So much beauty is on the North Umpqua River. It’s been a while since I stayed at Whitehorse, but I recall it being gorgeous and very private. It’s a small campground, with just five sites. If you’re lucky to get one, you’ll love it. It is also really close to Clearwater and Toketee falls, and the hot springs. Definitely plan a trip up Highway 138. Hit all the falls and then Crater Lake.

Small; good backup plan for Diamond lake

I stumbled across this "mini" campground when I was in the area waterfall hunting and staying at nearby Thielsen view campground. This would be a great backup plan, if you find that all other options are exhausted around the area. It is small and primitive with no amenities other than a pit toilet. It does have the falls right at the entrance and is close by many other falls and the Umpqua hot springs. It is in proximity of Diamond Lake and it's many outdoor activities.

Not the greatest spot, but a good 'last resort'.

great views

Love it here the views are great but the mosquitoes will eat you alive!
