FCFS for the WIN
We rolled in around 9 am Friday morning fingers crossed, hoping to snag a FCFS spot. We did! We weren’t prepared for the complete lack of water filling capabilities, so had to drop a couple chairs to hold the opening, and go find a place to fill up. After toppping off in town at the Elks lodge, we settled in. B29 had electric and opened up at the end to a secluded meadow, which was perfect for doing some one on one training with our huskies (we travel with 2 floofs).

FCFS For the WIN
We rolled in around 9am Friday morning, fingers crossed for an electric FCFS spot, and BINGO we got lucky. B29 for our spontaneous weekend away was great. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. We failed to anticipate the complete lack of a water filling station, had to drop chairs to hold the 1 opening, and headed out to the elks lodge in town to top off before setting up.
B29 backs into a secluded meadow which was quiet, and perfect to spend time working with. Our Huskies. (We travel with 2).

Labor Day Weekend
Huge sites, clean bathrooms, great camp hosts, and tons of hiking trails. You can hike to Baker Beach from the A loop. The entrance is near the group site by the bathrooms. The hike is approximately 2.4 miles one way.
We stayed in site A11 that had a 30 amp hook up. There are no water hook ps or dump sites unfortunately and not all the sites have electric.
Campground is about 5 miles from Florence.

Green and Serene
This campground was super quiet even on a full night. The sites have nice privacy and greenery separating each spot. We couldn't really hear other campers and were situated right by a trailhead.
Great Camp site
We came to the coast for a quick trip and didnt book a campground. We came upon Sutton and the host was absolutely amazing! We have a really long rig with a trailer and she let us have 2 campsites at 7 pm at night. She gave our boys a little goody bag. She was absolutely amazing!
Great camp sites
Lots of camp sites, some are pretty close together… host is nice!
Nice campground, very expensive
The campground here was nice and large. Lots of tent sites and room for trailers. The spots are very expensive as you can see from the info provided about the campground. We paid 36$ for our tent spot for 1 night. That’s crazy if you ask me. The sites are nice and have a fire pit and table. The creek nearby is unreachable from any camp spot. The bank access is overgrown and very steep. So don’t plan on playing in the water here. Bathrooms were nice and adequate. Trails for walker are located throughout the campground. It’s a nice campground if you don’t mind the price, but for my money I’ll stay somewhere else.
Beautiful campground, but…
You can’t beat the location, privacy, and beautiful surroundings at this campground. But, that’s where it falls waaaay short. First off, the bathrooms were all closed-I saw other people posting about this months ago, and thought it’d be fixed when we arrived. Nope. In fact, a sign at the entrance kiosk said the repairs should be done by April 2022. Guess not. In their place, they put port a potties. Great idea , but no one empties them. Inconsiderate campers have dumped trash into some of them. The crap literally is piled so high it reaches your arse in some of them. Disgusting thought. There is no water to the sites, no showers, and no dump. I didn’t even see any trash cans or bins. Not a good idea in bear country. If this campground can add some trash cans, fix the toilets, it’d be a solid 5 here. I don’t care about showers or water at the sites, so that wasn’t an issue. It’s a shame- they would have a lot more business if they added the aforementioned.
Nice Little Score!
Arrived on a Monday in mid August just driving through to check it out and decided to stay and had no problem finding a spot without reservations. There are 4 loops, A through D, each with a Group camp area, though sign said Loop C not recommended for RVs and trailers.
Paved driving throughout the campground and paved parking pads at each site which vary in size but are mostly level. Most sites are shaded with scattered sun so if you rely on solar there are some with more sun than others. Most sites are very private and nicely separated from neighbor and are very clean. Each site has picnic table and fire pit. Some sites have electrical hook up and there are water spigots throughout. There are also flush toilets and clean restrooms but no showers.
Garbage dumpsters are available but no recycling. There is no dump station at this campground.
Hiking trails to the beach. This place is quiet and the sound of the wind in the trees is relaxing. The trees nicely block the pounding wind at the beach. The volunteers are friendly and helpful.
Fires currently not permitted, but normally the host has wood for sale at $6/bundle.
Power hookup are $29. Dry camp sites are $24. Half off discount for Senior and Lifetime Access Card.
Decent cell service with ATT and Verizon but no TMobile.

Quiet campground
Very quiet and beautiful campground, nice trails nearby, and flush toilets. Bathroom cleaning seemed to be just standard adding and refilling soap, toilet paper etc. Could use a proper clean but we only stayed two nights so maybe we were there just before a proper wipe down. Overall very nice spot, close to town - without hearing highway noise. The campsite was nice and private. No cell service with t-mobile. No fires currently allowed due to restrictions.
So quiet
Spent last night at a different campground but the Hwy 101 noise was loud. This place is tucked into the woods and our space is yards away from access to a hiking trail that goes to the ocean. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Bathroom very clean.
Most excellent!
Have camped here more than a dozen times now. Excellent place to unwind and relax. No showers but flush toilets, central water spickets. Private spaces. Excellent hiking. Close to shopping and restaurants. Great accommodating camp hosts. Good geocaching area too. Highly recommend this campground.

Nice campground, chilly and dark
A bit chilly in August. Not much sun to be found in the loops, even on a fully sunny and warm day. Wind picks up In afternoon so bring winter-wear no matter the season you go. No beach or lake access, but some fun trails to hike. As far as sound goes it was very quiet, with mostly retirees inside their RV’s during the week. There is the distant sound of the jetty fog horn in Florence, which can be pretty annoying if you’re trying to sleep. It really depends on which direction the wind is blowing though. Our site was one of the bigger ones, but was right next to the site on the left, with no brush between. The group site in A Loop looked fantastic- lots of sun, room for 40 people, sound of a babbling brook and creek access. Big bonus of this campground is the flushing toilets and super clean bathrooms. Grounds are maintained beautifully, which makes it enjoyable to just wander around the loops. Hosts at most loops had firewood for sale for $6 a bundle. Overall I’d say Alder Dune (a few miles up the 101) campground is a better choice due to the bigger sites and additional trails, lakes and activities. Side note: Florence beaches are pay to park only, which is unusual for the Oregon Coast.
Great campground
Quiet, beautiful Campground.. Sites are large, secluded, some with power. Old gorgeous trees. Only 3 miles from town for supplies etc. Host super helpful. Clean restrooms. Many FF sites.
Foggy but nice trails
Pretty, dark, and close to the beach(but no beach access) is how I describe this campground. Set about a mile off 101 between the highway and the dunes, the campground is in a coastal forest(translation- lots of hammock opportunities). I liked the sites on Loop A the best as the loop is kinda off on its own. You do have the group sites on this loop, but even the group site is fairly isolated so you shouldn’t hear it much. There is access to hiking trails within the campground(some really nice host put maps at the info kiosk) as well as more trail access a mile further up the road at Holman Vista. A local told me to head towards Florence for better beach access. The dunes here provide lots of off roaring opportunities and there are outfitters all up and down 101.

Memorial Day Weekend
Such a nice, clean, quiet campground. Host on the tent side was amazing
Awesome place in Florence
This campground was one of our favorites. Loop A is reservable online and has some electric sites. Loop B, C are first come, first serve. There is 2 group sites that can hold about 100. Group site D is the best, private with a couple of electric sites, but one is a 15 amp. Bathrooms are always clean and available. Spigots are throughout, but no showers at the campground. There is a public shower place in Florence for $15 per person. C loop is all primitive camping with spigots for water. B loop has some electric and spigots sprinkled about.
Cost is $24 per site and $29 for an electric site.
Secluded in the woods
Although there are a lot of camp sites it seems fairly private. Nice hike up to the sand dunes - my son & dog loved running in the sand. Bathrooms were clean but nothing fancy - no showers. Never saw the camp host. Only complaint is that there were a lot of mosquitoes!
Quiet but near Florence
Largish( for a Forest Service camp) campground just north of Florence. Its just far enough off 101 that there is very little noise from the road. I got a really nice cozy private tent site on the C loop..the other loops looked to be more RV type ones. It was pretty quiet and had a nice hiking loop around the beautiful creek. Had a nice time later watching the bats do aerobatics catching their dinner at sunset..there is a large open space which makes this fun. Nice park, had not been here since my kid was a toddler..good memories
Love the trails
Great trails and views along the trails. Clean and quiet and rustic. Does have some electric sites and sites are roomy. It is not walking distance to the beach. No showers but regular bathrooms. We go here regularly and also do winter camp there too.

Surprisingly nice
Usually when I stay at a large campground I expect no privacy, and load campers. However I was very pleasantly surprised to find lush, dense vegetation that lended some privacy. The place was clean, well maintained, with good sized camp sites. I was able to set up a 7 person teepee tent, as well as a 3 person dome, with plenty of space away from the fire pit. There is a nice hiking trail connected to it, as well as Sutton lake a short distance away. Highly recommend. And it is $24 a night, little spendy for me.
Nice wooded campground
National Forest campground with a host in season, good bathrooms. Some campsites provide more tree cover and privacy than others. Fire rings and tables at sites. Great little picnic area as well!

Rustic, private
Although we didn’t have full hookups for our rv, this campground was everything we love about camping. It was private, wooded, had clean bathrooms and was quiet. It was also in a nice location to access sand dunes, sand boarding and ATV rentals. Also a beach really close.

Great for families!
I have been here many times wIth small children. There are several kid friendly trails and large open fields to play in, the bathrooms are kept clean by camp host and there is shallow creek access. Also beach access.
Group Camping
Sutton is probably in our top 2 or 3 campgrounds. We get the group site which is the D loop, and it has a sand hill in that loop, so it is fantastic for the kids. Close to Florence for the activities (Car Shows, Rhododendron Festival, City wide garage sale to name a few). The campground in clean and quiet.
