Very noisy and cramped

The site itself is pretty straightforward, with the addition of nice covered areas at the rent sites (not sure if this is at all of them or just some). Unfortunately it was extremely hard to get rest at this location. The golf carts used to make rounds at all KOAs were nonstop, and moving fast enough to be disruptive. I didn’t expect late September on the Oregon coast to be so busy, but along with the carts there were people driving in and out of the campground at all hours of the night. The staff asked how my stay was and when I mentioned the heavy traffic their tone was defensive and slightly rude. I wasn’t complaining, just answering their inquiry honestly, and thought I would be met with a bit of understanding for my frustration. It’s a great location and I will give it another chance, but my first experience was not positive.

Great location and endless amenities

We’re here during a non peak time but still active - spring break. The indoor pool is delightful the outdoor pool is closed the store/gift shop is extensive but closes earlier in the evening, the premium sites are gravel and not gigantic but there’s hardly anyone here. So it’s lovely. We used our campsite grill and had a delicious dinner, explored all of the kid activity zones and swam in the pool. The bathrooms are plentiful and clean, the amenities solid and themed. The staff kind and friendly. A really lovely destination KOA.

Nice place

I’ve stayed here twice and have had really good experiences each time. Showers could be cosmetically upgraded but other than that lots to do in the area.

Coastal access, nice sites

Full hookup at site, great bike trails and beach access. Convenient to Astoria, while feeling more remote. Camp sites fairly separated and shaded/wooded, showers and baths reasonably clean and maintained. Several sites have “high” dump receptacles, making drainage from lower units (Ours is a Class B sprinter) a bit of work.

Lots of activities for the kids to do. Indoor pool and an outdoor pool. Jumping pillow, mini golf. Large campground and very busy. Only downfall was kids riding their bikes thru our site and loud neighbors.

Wonderful for the whole family!!

A wonderful place to stay with plenty of things to do! There's a reason they call it a resort, with a playground, outdoor and indoor pool, hiking trails, yard games, and more. Will definitely bt staying again.

Good wifi

This is a nice campground with friendly staff. The wifi was strong and I was able to work during my four-day stay. But if you're looking to be immersed in nature, why not go across the street to Fort Stevens State Park? The restrooms could have been cleaner, and some of the showers didn't have a hook to hang your towel.

Great for kids!

Spent a couple of nights here and wish we would have had the grandkids with us. The older section, near the office and pool is treed a sites are walled spaced. Newer area is level and open. Back in and pull through sites. Nice pool. Store was well stocked with food items and souvenirs. Sites are gravel and our was a little uneven, but ok. Kids paradise. Pool, bikes, putt putt golf, RC car track and rentals, basketball hoops, and lawn chess. Close to Ft. Steven's State Park. Quick check in. We'll be back with grandkids.

Sites well-maintained

Sites are well maintained. The tent sites are not drive up, however they could have easily made this possibly, it just makes camping more inconvenient if you are not intending to backpack/hike to your site. The spigot could have easily been placed closer to the sites as well, but is at the parking area a small hike up the hill from the tent sites. The tent sites have wooden platforms which is nice as far as flat surface goes, however wood is harder than the ground would be, so camping pads/air mattresses etc are definitely necessary. Amenities are well-maintained and included in the cost of your site which is nice.

Great place to camp BUT

Thos campground is a great place to camp with indoor pool and activities for the kids. My only complaint is a standard cabin (no water) is as much as a hotel room would cost per night unless you camp durring the off season. Just too much to spend to camp. Tent sites are spendy but more affordable than any cabin on-site. Was a koa member for 10+ yrs but.let my membership go because it's cheaper to camp elsewhere than it is even with koa discount

Expensive KOA

Great if you have kids, but not if you just want an overnight stop.  Check in was very slow on the afternoon of Memorial Day.  Got there at 5:00 and there was only 1 check in clerk, to check in and sell store products.  By the time I got to the front of the line, there were 6 people waiting.  Pull through site was not very level, I needed to go back to the office to get another site as all wheels would have been off the ground with my towed car still hooked up.  Little to no shade down by the pool.

Everything kids need and more

To be honest I didn’t have very high expectations for KOA campground. Everything that I had seen of their campgrounds seemed expensive for what they had to offer. We were quite surprised after our arrival to see all the different activities included for the kids. They had a inflatable pillow extremely large in a giant sand pit, free putt putt golf, it’s small or big toy, A very hilly dirt trail that they call a BMX track, and a pool (that we did not get to use). The pool had just opened for their memorial day weekend and people had to sign up for timeslots due to Covid. They also normally have an indoor pool that is open. Overall this campground is wonderful for kids to run around and always have something to do. They have much more activities like movies at night time other play areas for kids they have employees driving around with firewood in the back of their trucks for sale, and they even pick up your garbage at the campsite like they say. We took our 28 foot trailer and it fit nicely in the 70ft. with our truck, the full hook ups worked as expected. The vegetation and grass in between the open trailer area seems to have gotten a lot of use and it appears they bring in a lot of gravel, however there are other spots in the park that a person could reserve that are surrounded by trees and bushes.

There are also some other area attractions that are easy to get to like Fort Stevens which is right across the street to include some old military bunkers and a shipwreck on the beach which are easy to get to. There are a few other parks to travel to and also an easy drive into Astoria or south to other beaches.

Overall I would say this was a good stay, it’s not the nicest park (A little worn and rundown) considering the amount of use that it is getting from families and kids, but we have children of your own I would come back again.

Near beach access, across from Ft. Stevens

Decided to take a chance and not reserve anything. With the Fort Stevens across the street and it being a slower winter weekend, we ended up with plenty to choose from at last minute.

We arrived ready with our tent and heater set up. But there was a cabin available so we jumped at the chance since the cabin was only $47.

We spent most of our time combing the beaches with our dogs and making meals at our campfire. Perfect weekend. Not too cold, no rain. Dogs loved it. Convenient that Fort Stevens was across the street. Used their beach access + *sunset beach access (between Warrenton + Seaside).

*sunset beach access attracts a LOT of vehicles that line up the right and left side of the beach. We parked in the parking lot.

Everyone in the general camping areas kept distance or was masked up. Appreciate that codes are given out to gain access to the bathrooms (very clean).

Ate lunch outside with our dogs at Buoy brewing. Great Covid setup.

Family favorite!

My family and I have been here 5 times. First 4 times we stayed in the rustic and deluxe cabins which were great for our family of four plus 1 Nana. Last time was in our new travel trailer in October 2020. Plenty of Halloween activities for the entire family which included a pumpkin patch ride and haunted walk through village. Nice campsite layout, we will be back again to visit our favorite spot!

Great KAO spot

I’ve camped several times, literally across the street, at Fort Stevens State Park and decided to check out the KOA. At least in January, the rates where within $2 of the state park but with high speed internet.

The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating.  The site was nice and clean even in torrential down pouring rain and wind.

Will absolutely be staying here again during visits to the area.

Very well organized giant KOA

Very professionally run large KOA. We stayed in October and it was nice and quiet at night. We stayed in a premium back in site but it looked that all sites had full hookups including sewer. Tons of family friendly activities. On the pricey side but it was a nice experience. The state park across the road had some nice bike paths and beaches. Might camp there next time just to try something different.

Jam packed with stuff to do

We've only stayed here a couple times and here's the good and the meh. There is a TON of stuff for kids to do. In ground jumping pillow, pools, climbing stuff, mini golf, an RC track. There are multiple tiers of sites from humble to high end. The store is a fun stop alone for Oregon souvenirs. The meh is it is pricey. This is not a low budget get away and the fees add up quickly. Also, because it is so kid oriented stuff is always well worn. During Covid-19, this place has gone above and beyond with cleanliness and organization. Would stay again but not if I had a lower cost option.

Nice place, but...

Great park and awesome amenities. The guys at the front area checking you in are awesome. That said. The trying to get out of the far back loop is a nightmare. Staff doesn’t seem to get that they need a person to direct traffic on a busy weekend. Let them know but got the company line and dismissed just as quick. Plus the speed nazi is on patrol!! Dude is an ass! Turned on his little lights like some kind of nerd and Feebly attempted to display the power that he did not have. Wasn’t even speeding, was kinda funny to watch reminded me of a bad episode of trailer park boys anyway nice place but be on the look out for homie the clown.
