No one respects quiet hours

Nice camp and staff, but dogs barking all night. Diesels running from 3-8am and a garbage truck coming in hot in the wee hours of the morning I not my idea of a good time.

Fantastic Autumn Week

All in all it was a convenient location to visit with family and wrap up some vital items before heading south for the winter. We felt safe and the campground was clean and in good condition. Halloween weekend #3 was so much fun!! The laundromat was out of service our entire stay (8 days) but we had family we could visit to get that done. Our site was muddy when we arrived and only got worse due to only having 2 days with no rain. That said it was one of the widest in the strip and would have suited us and our pups just fine had we been able to really enjoy the space. We thought about asking to move but we had to much going on to hassle with it. If it had been summer, the shade the trees provide would have been fantastic. Some of the "permanent" sites and campers are a little disheveled but those did not affect our experience other than confusion since I was told they don't offer monthly stays/sites. We may return next year for a little while until we can find more permanent space for the summer. We appreciate the space and cleanliness of the campground!

Awesome Staff and Location

Nice little campground near the lake. Great attentive staff and amenities. Pool, mini golf, bounce house, playground. Variety of site types available. Some of the newer sites still need some work, but otherwise ok. For a great in-town dinner try The Chef Shack - great food and a microbrewery to boot.

Clean, well maintained sites

Clean and well maintained sites.  We arrived after the office closed, but there was a packet waiting for us at the night check-in site.  Interestingly, there were still staff patrolling the camp on a golf for a while.  Overall a nice place to rest for the night.

Kabin 7 and Kabin 11

The KOA was what one expects of the KOA lots of features and not very secluded. The Kabins were lovely.

The design is nice as the bunk beds are in their own separate room. This means the back room will sleep four individuals. They also included little tables and benches so you can organize yourself in the room.  The front room has a large bed that sleeps two.  Then outside is the picnic table.  Due to health code rules you have to cook and do food outside of the cabin.

Our first cabin some of the light bulbs were dead and as a result they moved us to another cabin. Problem solved.

The bathrooms were very clean and the folks at the camp store were very helpful. I will say that my friend that took a shower was frustrated as one shower was scalding hot and the other was cold.  The floors were slippery as they didn't have a way to stop the water from going beyond the shower (no rim or lip).  She didn't get to use the Family Shower as you have to get the key from the store.  Shower time was usually before bed time with two little ones as they would get dirty playing during the day.  Since the camp store closes at 8 PM she would just use the standard shower with her kiddos. We thought this was a great feature and would have liked to get a look at the family shower set up.

At the camp store, they would drop off the wood via golf carts as you purchased it.  I was able to buy three bundles for $18.00 as it is cheaper that way.  I also purchased two bags of ice.

The cabin was fun and we were able to keep our trip simple by packing less due to the cabin.  Buckeye Lake State Park is close by and if you don't have a boat they really don't have a lot to offer non-boaters unlike other lake state parks.  We didn't see any trails.  We did go to the "beach" but opted not to swim. Our time was spent at the near by Dawes Arboretum and Newark's Earthworks (mounds).

**Will try to come back and upload more photos and videos later as tonight many of my posts are not fully uploading.

Great place for kids

Tons of stuff for kids, they had a blast! Great atmosphere, friendly staff! Will deliver wood to site & had lots of amenities. Not as close to the lake as we first thought but close enough. Will probably be back.

First Timers at Buckeye Lake

It was a very nice Kampground, however, if you don't follow their rules, you will get admonished for it. We didn't get a car tag when we registered, and we were followed all the way in to our trailer demanding that it be displayed. You can't display something that isn't there.

A couple came up to us as we were setting up at midnight drunker than a skunk, but we entertained them for a little bit and then sent them on their way.

It was quiet and nice all around, except for ranger rick.

Cute cabins!

The little cabins you can rent out are awesome! They have bunk beds in them and are just enough to have shelter to sleep in and then spend the day outside. The park offered food in the store like fresh made breakfast, and there were plenty of activities to do. They charged a lot of money for some of the activities though. The bathrooms were super nice and very clean. My family enjoyed themselves at this campground a lot.
