Linville Falls Campground — Blue Ridge Parkway

This campground is fully established and the rangers and hosts are wonderful. It's not deep forest or fabulous views but has access to the river. There is water and some buggy bathrooms (if that bothers you) but no showers. What it does have are very nice hosts, good sites, some shady, some sunny for rigs and tents and access to Linville, Banner Elk, Spruce Pine, the Falls and Linville Cavern. Some sites are hellish to back into (like mine) so check it out first. Spotty cell service with T mobile. Overall though, a very nice experience.

We camped in this quiet and comfortable campground for 4 nights. We really appreciated the warm shower rooms, large, clean and private. Though we have a 28’ Open Range with shower and septic hookup, we preferred the shower rooms. There is a beautiful area for tent camping with lovely tent sites. And some were occupied by campers who braved a couple of below freezing nights and the first snowfall. The owners are so friendly and helpful you feel like a long-time neighbor. Fully functional septic, electricity and water. Well maintained.

We stayed 2 nights in our 17' travel trailer and enjoyed clean bathrooms and hot showers, plus our site #2 had a small deck that came in handy when we were able to move the picnic table under our camper awning to avoid a light rain. Don't miss Linville Falls, but especially don't miss the drive up to an amazing lookout over Linville Falls Gorge if your vehicle can handle a pretty bumpy drive up the mountainside. Campground proprietress was helpful tho' efficient. Premises clean, with sites tucked into a hilly area.

At the top of Linville Falls you can hammock camp on a Rock are within 50 feet of the Waterfall.

Some of the most inspiring and challenging hikes are to be had here! The entire gorge is hikeable and you can even spend days walking through it on a backpacking trip. This campground is where I spend all of my serious summer camping and hiking. There's campsites for car camping or park in a designated parking lot and hike on in to the wilderness! Be prepared to see the most stars you've ever seen in your life!

We camped in mind-September and had a great time. These are the cleanest bathrooms we’ve ever seen. The on-site store is a life saver and the hosts are very helpful. We will return.

The campsites were open and very close together. The area is very beautiful, but the parking pads were very small. The bathrooms were clean. I'm not sure if I would return.

Tuesday, September 15, 2020.  I had originally planned on staying at Julian Price Campground but came upon this one first.  After looking around I decided to stay here for the night.  Plenty of spacious sites and I loved the fact that there were plenty of "first come, first served" sites.  There were a lot of campers here but there was plenty of room and I didn't feel crowded.  There were flush toilets but no showers.

Great campground! We are tent campers and loved our time here! There are A LOT of spots in a small area. That would be my only complaint if you want to call it that. The campgrounds clean and the owners are super nice and helpful. We have a dog and love the dog park! The bathrooms are very clean and nice! I would definitely recommend this campground!

Highly recommend this campground if you are someone who loves water.  The falls are a must see and it's a beautiful sound to fall asleep too.  Water up in the mountains never gets that warm,  but I tend to notice around June to end of August the water is at its warmest.  After a long hike around the mountains, you won't even notice the temperature.  You'll be extremely happy to just jump right in!  As a side note- you can camp at Elk Falls (FOR FREE) instead of going to Linville Falls Campground.  I couldn't find that on this website, but I highly recommend that site over this over, if you are someone who likes a more secluded, off the regular trail camping.

Camping around Boone is filled with beauty.  Linville Falls is moderately trafficked.  The best benefit is you have your campsite and very close by you have the gorgeous falls.  I recommend camping no earlier than June.  Unless you don't mind the cold.  Most body's of water stay pretty cold for a lot longer up in the mountains and the nights can get chilly.  You will feel at peace here.

It doesn't even deserve the 1 star. The sites are too close to each other. No privacy...people walking through your site to get to the bathrooms and loud about it. Updated bathhouse is nice but the wait for the showers can be down right ridiculous. If you are in the lower tent sites, it can be quite a little hike at 3 am to get to the bathroom. I don't recommend making reservations too far in advance. We had to cancel our last reservation because my daughter is having surgery and they were NOT nice and we didn't even get a partial refund.

There are MUCH nicer campgrounds close by. I will never stay here again.

The area is beautiful and the falls are a worthy destination, but the campground leaves a little to be desired. The spaces are close together and many of them are not shaded very well. There are better campgrounds nearby.

Beautiful sites.  Welcoming hosts.  Bath house clean and maintained.  Easy access.  Little tight driving they but campsites have plenty of room.  Easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Less than 3 miles to Linville Falls.  Little more to the caverns.  Office has a small store with essentials    The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 is the lack of WiFi.

I was very disappointed when we arrived for a 5 night stay to say the least. Very small, dirt campsite with a short section (6ft) of wood fence separating the next small dirt campsite. We had to go down a hill to the fire ring. There was no parking space at all. They put as many campsites as humanly possible there. There was a very new, nice bathhouse and a nice playground. It was a very loud place, too. If I was planning on staying in camp, this is not the place to relax.

Another lovely campground along the BRP, close to Linville Falls and gorge, picnic area and visitor center.

Get a map at the visitor’s center.. redundant: the gorge is rather crowded on the weekends.

Check online for road closures when visiting the parkway.

There are 70 sites, some reservable sites and walk ins -and an RV loop {dump station} All sites non electric, generators permitted before quiet hours.

Lovely rangers and camp host that I found to be pleasant and helpful.

Open field sites, with decent sized pads, fire pits & picnic tables. Some of the sites are more secluded, the ones nearest to the parkway road.

There are bear lockers, keep food and supplies in the locker and in car at night.

Alcohol is prohibited

No showers but access to clean water and flush toilets.

You may collect dead wood or bring in HEAT TREATED firewood that is certified with a federal seal.

The campground is laid out well, spacious, clean and located near awesome trails, falls, look outs and shops and restaurants.

This campground was great for the night I stayed. It was spacious enough so I didn’t feel like I was on top of my neighbors, but I also felt safe having people around me (I travelled alone). I brought my dogs down to the river for some refreshing fun. The only reason I have this site 3 stars is because there weren’t many accommodations, compared to other campgrounds in the area. I didn’t expect any but if you’re hoping for high end camping, this is not the place for you! I would definitely stay here again.

Cute campground with the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen. If you’re in the tent sites, prepare to go on a little hike up some stairs to reach them. But they are lit with string lights on the way up. When we arrived it was pouring the day before and all the fire pits had puddles inside. All we had to do was tell the owners and they came over with a pump and fixed it. They even had kindling for sale at their shop. No need to purchase wood, there was plenty of it all around you can gather. Overall a good experience!

Loved this campground! Great level tent pads, lots of trees for shade, rhododendrons galore! Great trees for Hammock camping!! Only downside was it Poured on us, but the campground doesn't control mother nature! Weather made the hike to Linville Falls nearly unbearable - but the view when we got there . . . AMAZING!!!! Would love to stay here again!

It has tent sites, camper, and cabins. The people who own it are great. It has a store where you can get your basic camping things, also has a place to do your laundry, wash dishes and has a few showers plus family shower area. They have a playground for kids.

Easy access to the trails around and over Linville Gorge. You can easily spend 2 days exploring trails along both sides of Linville Gorge and staring at the Falls. There is a less strenuous walk along one side of the gorge and a trail that allows views from the top of the waterfall that is accessible for most people.

On the other side of the Gorge are more challenging hikes. Maps are available at the visitor’s center. I highly recommend researching the geology of the Gorge to add to your appreciation & understanding.

Warning: This is a very popular tourist area and it’s crowded in summer. Get there early if you want to park without a wait.

As you would expect, there are restaurants and shops in the area to serve visitors.

Remote, quiet family friendly campground. It is a basic campground with both tent sites and hook-ups. We enjoy tent camping here on the large field where fireflies light up the night sky! There are sites that are close to water so you can fall asleep listening to the gurgle of the creek - and sites near the woods. The bathhouse includes toilets and sinks with a hand dryer. You can drive to the falls or drive to the visitor center and hike to the falls - a great campground!

This is a nice little privately owned campground. There are cabins, RV spots and tent sites all with access to newly renovated restrooms and coin operated laundry. Should you have an issue, the owners live on site and are available and happy to help. Sites offer a nice amount of shade for hot summer days and the facility is located close to a number of beautiful western Carolina gems.

Absolutely stunning. Well marked trail's. Never a dull moment. The falls were breath taking. I definitely will make an effort to return to venture further. No handicap access.
