Nice place

Very family friends and pet friendly. Mostly quiet. There is NO Wi-Fi. Plenty of trails and things to do. Only downside was our site 252 had a giant spotlight on our site from dusk and until dawn. It felt as if someone’s car headlights were shining on us all night. We’ll be sure to pick a different spot next visit.

Bed bug infestation in cabins!!!

The staff was well aware they had a bedbug infestation in their cabins and I had been unsuccessfully with treating it previously it was filthy we had to seek medical attention for the bedbug welts and bites and severity of the infestation we have tons of losses in damages and we’re asked to leave after we found more live bugs in the cabin bed they canceled our reservations for the following year as well we do a yearly trip with about 35 people who gather from all different parts of the United States for our weekly Fourth of July trip for staff are liars and they had this bedbug infestation from their guest and we rented our cabins the same night they asked us to leave with no explanation of why our trip was cut short if they were rewriting our cabins not that we wanted to stay with the bedbugs either

Huge Disappointment

I just drove through the campground. Was looking for a place to take my girls. Their website is very deceiving. This place is PACKED with large RVs. I’m guessing mostly seasonal campers and very few transients. Every site was booked only saw two sites with tents. It was so congested I couldn’t find a place to park and walk around. So many golf carts and many sites had multiple personal vehicles. I honestly don’t know how anyone could find this relaxing. Resembled a trailer park, but one without any rules governing the appearance or cleanliness. Apparently they had an issue with many seasonal campers flying political flags and now the campground has signage everywhere discouraging the practice. I’m going to keep looking. I would seriously avoid this place.

Horrible experience

After coming to this site with a group of friends over the weekend. I was shocked to see how the manager handled another large group that was there. She claimed they were disrespectful and loud. It was a large group but they were very respectful and not being loud at the slightest (no loud music/excessive party) I saw many police over the weekend and it was just a tense environment. I will never return.

Great campground

Been camping here for many, many years. New ownership has improved a lot of previous criticisms (water quality, staff friendliness). This is our "base camp" as we camp multiple times per year every year.

The bathrooms still are in need of a remodel, and their could be more kid activities. That's the reason for 4 stars.

Lots of shade, decent size sites. Loud and kid friendly, which is fine for us but might not be for some.

Nice camp sites in the pines

They have 300 camp sites spaced out nicely. All the hook ups you need. Many activities. Live music in the summer. Very nice wading river next to the camp grounds. You can tube down the river from one end of camp to the other.

Just a awesome place

We loved this campground. Friendly staff. Plenty for the kids to do. The river is right there to go tubing or kayaking. Playground is cool. They allow golfcarts which is a plus in my book.

Friendly management but ...

Stayed for a long weekend with the family. Management at the front office/store were very nice and welcoming. Camp sites were very tight together. The seasonal sites were a little routy but didn't keep us up too late. Kids loved the fishing pond and exploring fantasy island. Found out too late that the train only ran on the weekends, kids were pretty bummed.

Was ok

Check in was easy but the roads are narrow and we had a hard time getting on to site 145. We had seasonals in front and behind us who weren’t very friendly and one woman looked annoyed we were there. Our neighboring transient campers were very nice. The campground is PACKED! Very busy with kids and golf carts-even kids driving golf carts. We didn’t take advantage of any of the activities and I heard a band playing Sat night, although it was hard to hear over the music each seasonal group seemed to be playing. If your a young party goer, than this could be a fun place. Just wasn’t our thing. We did have a great time tubing on the river. Have someone drop you off at Hawkins Bridge and float down to the campground. A little over 2 hour ride.

Great weekend

We camped here in July. Besides the weather being ungodly hot. Had a good time. The only thing I would say is that the bathrooms need an upgrade. Everyone was very friendly at the resort. Staying there again soon.

Terrible live music

Never stayed at Wading Pines, but have camped in the state park next to it and their live music (a terrible cover band) blasts every weekend until midnight into the park. Can’t imagine how loud and awful the music is in the campground. Definitely not relaxIng camping.
