Quiet stay

We had a great time out at Belleplain! The only downside is the cell service, but it’s not their fault! The park itself was very quiet, clean, and they even had parks for our littles to play at! The restrooms were clean as well- which to me is a BIG PLUS! A lot of the campsites are very spacious as well, which was nice, as we have a large family and a large tent! Pets are also allowed with no size restrictions with vaccination records and a leash!

They have kayaks available to rent to row across the peaceful Nummy Lake. They also have events regularly scheduled for things to do with your family and friends, like bird watching for instance! They also have hiking trails and bikes!

Nice park, annoying people

Stayed there in October. All the electric sites are usually booked weeks or months out so stayed on the North Shore area with no hookups. Site 27 which basically in attached to site 26 with a trail shortcut entrance between them. Constantly had families walking through our site even through there actual entrance was just a few yards down the road. Had a large group spread over sites 20 to 24 with there chairs, bikes, games all overhanging or completely set up in the road and they gave you attitude whenever you needed to drive though. Park Rangers did nothing about it when told about it. The bathrooms were ok but the smaller toilet rooms were nasty. The CCC and Meisle field side is much nicer with larger spread out sites and cleaner nicer bathrooms.

October camping

We stay in the CCC section that has water and electric. The sites are big. The bathroom are a little old, but we really enjoy camping there. Highly recommend 🔥🏕️

It was nice and relaxing!

Spent 2 nights here. Very quiet and peaceful. Went to sea isle city for the day. We didn’t spend too much time on the campground. Showers could’ve been cleaner. The showers are a big part of a campground.

Tent camping North Shore

This review is for the tent camping sites in the “north shore” area of the campground. My favorite tent camping sites in the entire campground. These are sites with electric or water, however there are water access throughout the north shore area, accessible to all campers. The campsite we stayed at was close to bathrooms with showers and close to a playground, great for families with little kids. It’s a good walkable camping location, also pretty close to lake nummy. The front office sells stacks of firewood for convenience. Great campground, It’s a very good campground for families tent-camping with young kids.

Great campground for beginners

I grew up very close to belleplain state forest. It’s a great campground for beginner tent campers. They have many tent camping sites available with showers and bathroom access and also have RV/camper sites as well.

Neat, quiet and remote

Belleplain is easy to get to, but it’s just remote enough that you’ll truly feel like you’re getting the outdoor experience. Make sure you have a map of the site handy, as it can be hard to navigate with the foliage and lack of marked roadways.

The staff was completely absent when we tried to check in, so we went right to the site. Finding the site was difficult because the leaves had fallen and covered the roads. It was a little tricky, but no major issue. We had some privacy, but for the most part, the sites are open to each other. I recommend staying by the lake.

The closest bathrooms were closed, so we had to drive a few minutes to a different set. That got annoying. Also, there is absolutely nowhere to leave your trash, so be prepared to pack in and pack out.

Quiet and spacious

I stayed in the“CCC” camping area off-season. The campground was very quiet during my stay. The sites were surprisingly level, large, and spread out. The electric and water service seems to have been upgraded in the recent past, so power was clean and the water pressure was good(let it run for a few minutes before hooking up as it had a brownish color at first). There is a playground and a lake, with some short trails for hiking but it certainly is a no-frills park. The point, though, is to get away and to that end, my stay was very enjoyable.

Wanted for nothing!

The site was clean, the fore rings were perfect where you could have coals going for cooking and a simultaneous large wood fire. Huge campsite. Even though there wasn’t a ton of privacy it felt like we were in an enchanted woodland village, like Kokori forest.

The water was the best tasting water! I was so pleasantly surprised and made sure to fill up before heading home.

The bathrooms and showers were immaculate. Easy access to some basic playgrounds to keep kids busy when doing set up and take down.

We will be back!

Nice campground. Dirty bathrooms

To be expected, this place was packed on a nice October weekend. Boy Scouts and families.. Overall quiet considering the amount of people. Nice trails. Close to Lake Nummy. With that said, the bathrooms were disgusting. Little maintenance and cleaning was provided during our weekend stay, especially during a global pandemic.

Nice campground

We stayed here in April. This was a nice campground. The RV sites were nice. there were no elctric/water/ sewer hookups. Our site was across from a water station. There was a dump station at the campgrond. Bathrooms were clean. The campground is not far from the popular shore towns. Diners in Woodbine are close as well.  Cell service with Spint/ Verizon was good. Our camp site on the outer loop was large. Some sites in other areas were smaller.

So far so good

Arrived at 1pm on Wednesday. Check in was smooth. They allowed me to drive around first and pick out a campsite before checking in. They charge $5 extra for a dog. So far it is very quiet and that's what I was looking for. It's just a short drive to the ocean is:Cape May, Ocean City New Jersey.

Beautiful Campground

We stayed in a yurt. it was a great experience that we would definitely do again. There is a small lake that was great to kayak on.

Hiking

I haven't camped here but we love the dog-friendly hiking trails. We have walked through the site areas and they seem to be a nice size but not offering too much privacy. We are usually there in the off season so not sure how crazy it gets in the warmer months with the lake being there.
