West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA Holiday

We had two problems with our stay here. 1. The tent sites seem to have been an afterthought of the planning they have little to no shade/shade, no privacy and a very busy roadway quite close to them with nothing to separate them. There also is pretty much no flat ground.

2. My second problem was their security staff. They ride around on their golf carts and were rude and a little aggressive for no reason. They told us off for driving around the campground looking for the showers.

The showers and bathrooms were fairly clean and were pretty nice and the shop had lots of food and goods. For RV camping it might have been fine, but do not go if you are tent camping.

All the amenities you would expect at KOA. Super friendly staff. Pizza and wings at the office, delivered to your site. Bathrooms nice and clean.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The bathrooms & laundry room are clean,a little outdated. The pull through sites seem to be all gravel/stone. Our back in site had a patio, fire pit and nice patio furniture. Looked like a lot to do for the kids. The camp store is well stocked with RV supplies and parts. After driving all day, then doing laundry it was nice to get a pizza and relax.

Plenty of amenities, clean bathrooms and showers and a nice playground. Sites are very close together which I thought would be more of an issue than it was. We had very quiet camping neighbors and everyone was friendly and helpful.

We stayed here overnight on our way out west, so we didn't have big expectations. We are fairly new to pulling a 5th wheel, so we wanted an easy pull-through site plus we wanted it to be paved. Well there are 2 premium sites - we stayed in site# 89. It was HEAVEN! Not only was it paved, but also had a huge patio with a table and Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit with additional seating. The site was situated such that our "good side" was facing the trees, away from the rest of the campground. We have a 43' 5th Wheel plus our truck, and there was plenty of space. That is the best setup we've had so far. We didn't have time to use any of the amenities, and are not traveling with kids, so I can't speak for how good it was in that regard.

Good stay, clean bathrooms and showers. Nice camp store that’s sells pizza! Very close to the Nebraska crossing outlet mall! 😊

We usually stop here at least one night on our way West (or going home). Maybe stayed here 5 times? This is a great campground to overnight. I think families also stay for a weekend, because there's lots for kids to do here.

 Clean bathrooms/showers. Friendly staff. They're expanding for larger rigs. There is traffic noise from I-80, but it's easy on/off to get to the campground.

This is my first time staying at a KOA, and I think it’s fine for an overnight RV stay, but I definitely wouldn’t make an entire trip of it. The campground is crowded and the sites are very crammed together. I believe all of the sites have full hookups (power/water/sewer) which is nice if you’ve been without for a few days like I had. I can’t comment on the bathrooms, didn’t use them. The playground and other amenities looked extremely old, rickety and borderline hazardous. The noise from I-80 is definitely present and pervasive, but I didn’t hear it from my RV. Like others have mentioned, the entrance to the campground is next to a blind hill, but it’s not impossible to see oncoming traffic.

Nice KOA. There is a nice playground for the children and a pool with snack bar. Management was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice end campsite that gave us extra room with full hookups. The wifi was good and we were right next to a cell tower. They also had some nice cabins!

We selected this campground as a base for a family get-together near Omaha, for 4 days/3 nights (Fri-Mon). For that mission, it worked well, but overall we were not super impressed for the price. This was our first KOA experience so maybe the thing we noticed were "normal" but there were some definite cons when compared to other campgrounds we've stayed at this year.

1. Very busy & packed... we noticed a lot of traffic seemed to be just a quick stop over for the night, so lots of rigs coming in the afternoon/evening and leaving the next morning. There is just enough room to park our average-sized trailer and truck, and have a picnic table next to it, but neighbors are very close. This is not what I would consider a campground for settling in and relaxing as a destination unto itself.

2. Some "deferred maintenance" was noticeable. The mini-golf course was in terrible shape. The playground equipment (swings, slides etc.) could use an update for sure. The road getting into the grounds has terrible potholes.

3. They seem to be very particular about some odd things, like not allowing rugs on the grass (which is definitely not premium grass!). Have to pay extra for a site with a fire ring, or even enough space for one, and the base price is already on the high side.

...BUT... it's not all bad!

1. Lots of good amenities, including picnic shelter(s?); community room with tables & games for larger gatherings; the pool seemed in good shape (though on the small side), big jumping pillow was a hit with the kids.

2. On-site shop with a good selection of basic items for you and your rig. Free coffee in the morning, pizza available for delivery (we didn't try it but heard it was good). Friendly and helpful staff overall.

3. The Kabins are really nice! A part of our group had rented one and it was a great base for gathering for meals, and had a decent firepit area. If we didn't own a camper, we'd consider this KOA just for the Kabins.

4. Close to Omaha - great as a jump-off point for family activities, shopping, etc.

In Summary: If you don't mind paying more for a campground which has plenty of amenities and is best suited for a quick stop, or, if you are looking to rent a cabin and would like to be located conveniently in the Omaha area, this is a good option, but is a bit overpriced when considering other campgrounds which have more generous spacing and a more laid-back and relaxing environment.

It’s was the first time I towed the camper by myself and they were so helpful and made it easy. Nice campground. Proximity to the outlet malls is nice.

It’s in the middle of what used to be fields and next to a highway. BUT that’s not a bad thing. I don’t think this is a destination. We’re using it as an overnight during our roadtrip and I like it. Pool is nice. I went running on a country road across the street.

We needed an overnight stop on our way to Kansas and this KOA was perfect. We pulled in just after dark and there was a note on the door stating staff was limited due to Covid. We pulled into a very large pull through on the west side of the campground (site 16). The KOA was pretty full but everyone was respectful and we didn’t hear much noise. We had full hookups & the site we were in was spacious with a picnic table and fire ring with grate. It had rained quite a bit before we arrived so we didn’t sit outside, due to mud close by our site, but we had a nice view. The next morning, we paid at the office before we left & the Manager only charged us half price (we intended to pay the full price) because he felt bad for not being able to be on site when we arrived (the schedule on the KOA app said staffed until 7pm & we were there just after 6pm).

We always stop here when we're traveling on I-80. It's the perfect distance for us to overnight before moving on. Clean campground, showers/bathroom. Courteous employees. Lots of activities for the kids. We've stopped on a couple of holidays& a reservation is a must! They are very busy! Easy on, easy off means some highway noise from I-80. It looks like they're putting in new sites for longer RVs. We camped at West Omaha/ NE Lincoln KOA Holiday in a Travel Trailer.

Arrived out of Denver. We crashed here for the Night. Key was in the night drop. It was quiet and the amenities looked nice but we really were only here for about 6 hours. Would recommend as a great place to crash just off the interstate so easy access in/out.

As with all KOAS they’re always near a main road or freeway so there was noise from cars passing - but becomes white-noise so was okay. There were 2 trains in the night - but we were able to fall asleep again. Other than that - clean tent sites, restrooms with showers and nice staff, oh and a huge bump in the ground that was a bouncy trampoline that all kids were having a marvelous time on. We’d go again.

Please note: the entrance from the road needs extra lighting - please be extra careful when entering!

This campground had amazing staff, was clean, and had great amenities. The sites are very small however, and to do anything besides swim and play on the playground you need to drive. It’s a great place to stay when visiting family! We will definitely stay again.

I only stayed the night, but as I was walking my dogs I saw the camp. Everywhere you turn there was something to do. Good fun.

This site is great for any size family. The range of different camping options and amenities is incredible. The facilities are well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is nicely spread out on the grounds, and the location is near the highway to reach other amenities. A definite winner!

Stayed one night. That was enough! Sites were so tight we couldn’t use our picnic table. Wouldn’t recommend them unless there was no other choice.

This campground was very nice for us! We were able to get in and out of our space without any issues.

The weather was amazing and we were able to get so much work done before we had to leave.

The campground itself was fine and very convenient in location to vIsIt famIly. The entrance/exit is difficult and it looks like it’s not their fault as they have been trying to get permits to fix it but the NE transportation is not being cooperative so I recommend patience on this section. What the “but” is, is that we were given an inappropriate size space for the rig we stated, super narrow and we stuck over the road by 2 feet. They had larger sites all around us but were told we could not change. Because it was only one night, we dealt with it and I just used the empty larger site next to us to have some outdoor space. One foot off our door was the next site’s sewer hook up and the picnic table was on top of the fire pit because there was no room at all. This was just stupid. If we go back to visit, we will insist that we are in a larger site as it was actually a nice campground. Apparently I didn’t get a picture, but here’s the map, do not stay here in sites 34 - 70 if you have a rig over 30’ and dont want to touch your neighbors camper.

Sometimes you just want to camp, and when you have the option of the West Omaha KOA just 15 minutes away, you use it! We stay here often because the kids have plenty to do (bounce pillow, pool, bikes) and we can relax and meet new friends! We have stayed here multiple times and it never disappoints! The employees are very friendly!

we stayed one night but took advantage of the pool and pizza delivery. there are many fun activities for children. showers nice and clean and hot. it is on a busy road and was noisy during the night, however, we were nearest to the road. would stay again.

neighbors are close not much of your own space but there is a play ground for the kids that's wonderful!!!!!

We went to our local KOA for the first time in a few years and we had a blast. Tons of activities (most were free, some with a small cost) and just what we needed. We would recommend this campground to anyone looking to get out or coming through!

We stayed for only a nightwhile passing though. The campgrounds were very clean, sites well maintained bathroomand showers were clean as well. Only complaint I have is there was a major storm that rolled though and upon arriving I asked about the weather, which I was watching closely at the radar. They didn't seem concert about it however news reports were saying other wise of his very storm system producing 90-100mph winds. I and others asked a few staff members where should we take cover in case it hits us. (Which the radar was clearly showing that it would) they then whispered the bathrooms or a underground shelter. We'll e his in the bathroom when it hit. No one was hurt and everyone property that I was was okay. After the storm they all look shocked it hit but we're in top of. checking with everyone and getting clean up started. The campground had lots of trees down and the power went out. Only thing I would hope they change for he future is keeping their customers current with sever weather cause most of us were from out of state.

I decided that while visiting my cousin I would make a weekend of taking her kids out to "camp." This KOA provided a fun experience for us kids of all ages... Little Tony got to ride a zip line and my wife and I enjoyed wine while making smores around a fire pit. Really if you are looking to dig in to nature a KOA is not the best place. It is like the Yogi Bear sites. They are convenient, and can be cheap tent pads for sleeping but if your looking for nature this is not the spot. You would be better off at a state park for about $10/night. But we were looking for an intro to camping for my second cousins and it was a lot of fun here. They had a zip line (it didn't cover a long distance and wasn't high off the ground) a pool, general store, and just enough seclusion to feel like we got the youngsters out out of the suburb and into another that had some adventure and trees... Awesome place if you have kids with you and your entire goal is to get them out and try something new.
