Round Spring Campground — Ozark National Scenic Riverway

I was able to get my 28' trailer in site 37 and managed to level it. There's a sign to keep car tires on pavement, but I wasn't able to and parked the Jeep on the grass next to the trailer. Unlike other sites at this campground, this site did not need stairs to get to the fire pit or picnic table; they were right outside the door. The fire pit was clean and I used the grill box everyday to cook all the meals. The weather was too hot to use the entire fire pit for a large fire.

Unfortunately, my view from the fire pit was of the shower building and watching people go in and out at the end of the day.

I have solar panels mounted on top and the large shading tree kept them from charging the batteries, but shaded the site very well. This made me look for portable panels after I got home. The lower branches should be trimmed to avoid damage to taller trailers. The branches barely cleared mine.

The ground is rocky and bent my flimsy tarp stakes. This made me look for better stakes when I got home. Haha.

The dump station is at the entrance to the campground and there were two issues with getting fresh water. The fresh water tower had the elbow nozzle and I couldn't get it unscrewed to put my hose on. To fill up using the elbow nozzle and trailer's gravity fill port meant parking the trailer in the exit lane. Not knowing what to do, I proceeded to site 37. There is water near the shower building and thankfully my three hoses spanned the length and was able to fill up while parked in the site. When dumping on the way out, there was no issue with unscrewing the other non-potable water tower's elbow nozzle and putting my own hose on to flush the tank. Maybe I wasn't strong enough to remove the fresh water tower's nozzle.

The host was really nice and so were the park rangers.

No signs about generators; I used mine during the day. I didn't hear anyone else using one though and felt guilty. Heard lots of music and barking dogs so not too guilty.

The river is awesome, cold, and a highlight of the campground. People take their dogs and chairs to the bank and I'm sure they love it, but it's a busy bank with boaters and not a lot of room to separate from others. Instead, we waded to the center of the river, and after several minutes of getting used to the cold water, sat in the rushing water. It was great and the noise of the rushing water around us drowned (haha) out the barking dogs and peoples' conversations on the bank.

The walk on the trail and across the bridge to the country store was nice and took 15 minutes. Worth the walk for wifi and ice cream. The trail to the store is not marked well but figured it out.

I will go back, but choosing a different site.

The host was great did a nice show at the amphitheater about the local area bathroom and showers are great, not to mention the nice clean river

We were the only campers in this campground mid-week in April. It was small and about 20 minutes from the closest town. But it was incredibly beautiful, and we saw wild horses. The Rangers were friendly and helpful.

It is absolutely beautiful! The color is just as vibrant and turquoise in my photo as if I was standing there looking at the spring. There is also a bridge the water flows under. Pretty neat!

This campground on the beautiful Current River is operated by the National Park Service and features 6 are so full electric sites and numerous tent camping sites. It is located at the very beautiful Round Spring and the Round Spring Cave. Tours of the cave are given daily June through August and cost $5. The lantern tours show an amazing cave with many beautiful formations. An outfitter for canoe rentals and shuttle service is located across the road and offers ice, beverages and firewood. Reservations are a must for the electric sites. While all sites in this campground are reservable it is rarely full. There are also about five group sites located at this area. The current river provides some of the best canoeing anywhere in America as well as good fishing for Smallmouth Bass.

This campsite was nice but there were lots of rocks and the sites are close together, not very secluded, and close to the main road. There are 2 bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms were decently clean. There was a ranger who drove by every hour or so and was kind and helpful! Would probably not stay here again if other campsites nearby were available.

Nice spacious areas to tent. We loved going here. Clear waters on the current river lots of wild life. A little ways to get to any town but that’s ok with me. Clean restrooms. Will be back here.

This campground is perfect for rent camping! Sites are far apart, gravel base, fire pits and picnic tables in each one. I grew up camping here every year. They have a few electric sites for trailers but not recommended, basically a long strip of concrete. River is crystal clear, round spring is beautiful shade of blue. (Unless lots of rain, don’t expect this with flooding going on)

Round Springs in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways of MO is one of the smaller campground areas but it still has some options.

Single or group sites with nearby put in to the Current River make it ideal. Unfortunately the party climate of the area can make it less then ideal depending on who you get in the site next to or across from you. I love this area but it’s popularity takes away from the charm. Some people don’t respect their fellow campers and realize everyone wants to have a good time. Not much problem with wildlife the crowds keep them away but raccoons are still prevalent so store your food properly ;) Saw some deer but that was about it. People also use generators in the non-electric sites so you may be unfortunate enough to be next to them.

That being said it’s still possible to find some areas that are less populated and popular but still interesting to explore.Or if you are going to party, you will be in like company. Plenty to hike, float and explore in the immediate area!

Round Springs campground on the Ozark Scenic River is one of the nicest on the River. Campsites at Round Spring are mostly flat, and there are a few electric sites, but no water. So fill your tank before arriving. There is a dump station. It is a popular park in summer and fall, so reservations are advised. This is a popular campground for canoeing on the Current River, also fishing and hiking. There is also a small cavern with ranger tours

My husband and I would travel to this area that is on the current river every summer and kayak. One summer we decided to stay here as it is on the river and there is also a cave that you can go in via the visitor center. The natural spring is amazing. There are excellent restrooms and showers at this campground. My problem with this campground and in all honestly not the campgrounds fault is that other campers get rowdy and drunk. One family was sitting out trying to make their dinner on the campfire and right across from them was a group of young adults drinking heavily and cussing loudly. The best time to go to truly enjoy this campground is during the week.

This is a nationally run campground and is a put in/take out spot fornfloating on the Current River. It has zero cell service but you can drive about 2 miles up the road to the state park and connect their WiFi. It’s pretty clean with running water, indoor plumbing, and hot showers.

Well kept camping area, spacious, no electric, short walk to the river. Round Spring Cave is nearby. If your looking for hiking though, not so much. Very short trail and that's about it.
