Spacious Skies Minute Man

About

Spacious Skies Minute Man Campground is a peaceful campground located in a piney forest grove in historic Littleton, Massachusetts, set between two National Historic Parks and famed Walden Pond, and just a short drive or ride on public transit into Boston.

We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate most rigs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 20/30 or 50-amp electrical service, and many offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.

RV AND TRAVEL TRAILER CAMPING

Our campgrounds offer a variety of full hook-up sites (water, electric and sewer) and water/electric only sites. We can accommodate 30-amp and 50-amp needs. Many of our campsites have cable and wi-fi services.

CABINS

Spacious Skies Minute Man has 6 one-room cabins and 1 two-room cabin: Your cabin rental includes: • Air Conditioning • Heat • Lights • Electrical Outlets • Charcoal Grill • Picnic Table • Fire Pit

TENT CAMPING

For your short term adventures, we will offer spots to pitch your tent that are either standard rustic or with basic hook ups.

Come relax by our heated pool, hang in the rec hall, send the kids to the playground, or play fetch with Spot in one of our two dog runs. Our camp store carries many convenience items and treats, and nearby restaurants offer both takeout and delivery. We have a number of cozy rustic cabins for rent for those without their own RV or camper but who may not be ready to tent overnight!

We are proud to announce our partnership with Black Folks Camp Too and are now the first “unity blaze certified” collection of private campgrounds!

Being Unity Blaze Certified confirms that all 15 of our campgrounds and our team are committed to making sure all campers know “You are Invited and Welcomed” — the Unity Blaze motto. While Spacious Skies has always firmly held this belief, we wanted to go one step further in partnering with BFCT to make sure all campground staff completed the Unity Blaze training program.

Good time

Staid at this camp ground for almost a week. Was quiet and relaxing. The staff was nice. The store seemed to be lacking some stuff even though it has plenty of space. The rec hall had no games in it like the website showed. But I would stay there again.

Great PLace to Stay

My family and I stayed at this campground overnight on the way to and from Acadia. The staff was very nice to deal with. The sites were ample size and space for our rig and needs. The pool looked very nice, and the rec room was impressive, with games and movies for campers to enjoy. The campstore was very nice and even had a video library that campers could sign out movies to watch free of charge ( their selection was pretty impressive). There was bocce, horshoes and volley ball courts that were well maintained and had the needed equipment so that anyone interested could play. The dog park was nice as well.  The campground is close to many restaurants and gas stations also. Cell service with AT&T and T-Mobile was great.

Nice, clean, accessible

Some of the FHU sites are pretty tight, but overall the campground is nice. Pretty tall trees and clean.

Game room was pretty much non-existent for us, maybe they were getting ready to make some changes?

Easily accessible by car to shopping, groceries, etc. but no hiking or good walking paths from the campground.

Overall a pleasant stay

We had reserved this campground before realizing it had been sold off to a corporation. Unfortunately they did not have enough help to keep up the property so amenities like the dog run and games weren’t really available. Sites were mostly kept up but the grass was horrible to deal with. Half the washers/dryers were out of order which made doing laundry difficult. Talked with several other campers how had stayed here previously and they were highly disappointed. We had booked a pull through and informed the original owners of our 3 pets, but the new owners marked our spot as a back in and would only accommodate 2 pets. That was a little disheartening.

Beautiful Camp!

Nestled among tall pines is this hidden gem. Sites are moderately sized in good condition and we experienced no noise issues during our week here. Pool is small but quality. We enjoyed the ping pong table!! Also have arcade, volleyball, and pet walk area. Womens bathroom is clean and large. My husband said the mens got a bit full of trash during weekend. Did not notice seasonal campers. If there is they keep their sites uncluttered. Only down side is office is inflexible on $25 fee if you arrive before 2 pm.

Overall good, but no private sites, noisy neighbors

We had a great time here despite everything. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, facilities were VERY clean. Bathrooms and showers are heated and air conditioned, no smell at all. The pool is huge and clean and there is a ton of seating around. The shop has everything you could need. There are horseshoes, can jam, basketball, and bocce. There’s a playground and a rec room.

HOWEVER, the sites are JAMMED together. You’ll get zero privacy from your neighbors. We happened to have extremely loud and obnoxious neighbors who yelled at their children the entire trip. We couldn’t get any space from them at all. There is also a lot of road noise from the nearby highways, and the commuter rail passes nearby all night and early in the morning, blowing its whistle every time.

The campground is great, but not being able to get space from our neighbors will be the reason we don’t come back. We won’t want to risk it again, not knowing who we’ll be next to.

Planes, Trains, Dump Trucks...

The campground itself is beautifully wooded with mature pine trees. However, the sites are packed so tight you can barely maneuver in and out. We only have a 17' travel trailer pulled by a Ford Explorer and had great difficulty backing it in. I did not see any pull-through sites. Our site had a picnic table, fire ring and water & electric hookups. When we arrived we were given a rules list (as customary) that strongly threatened to remove anyone who was too loud, including dogs. I was a little worried because our Border Collie sometimes barks when people walk their dogs past our campsite. Anyway... after we went to bed we were awakened by a cacophony of road noises, including trains, trucks, and tractor trailers. Planes sounded like they were flying right above our heads. Trucks sounded like they were dumping rocks only feet from our site. In between those noises, we could hear a group of people partying outside on the deck of a house very close to the campground. This went on well into the night. Even though my husband has poor hearing, he couldn't sleep through all that. And yes, the irony of the campground's stern noise warning wasn't lost on me. We were there 3 sleepless nights. I would suggest bringing quality earplugs if you go there. Oh- and they do not allow you to choose your site. You get what's assigned to you.

Great Campground

The spots are a bit tight but I live the mature trees and the fire pits. The fire pits are surrounded by rocks with a large rock backing one side. It gives the feel of extra warmth coming from the space.

It was a bit muddy on our arrival and because of the nature trees the sites still haven’t dried out enough to enjoy the grounds but otherwise I am very impressed. The kid’s activities are far from our campsite which is unfortunate.

They have laundry and they are about 30 miles from Boston, which was the reason for our stop. Di Napoli is an Italian restaurant that delighted right to our campsite!

Lots of noise and rude staff

We stayed at Boston Minuteman Campground for 2 nights on our way home from Acadia NP. It was fine for a stopover. This is a pretty big campground, with lots of trees and shade. It was a little muddy when we were there. The roads are gravel, and there are hills and some tight turns, but the sites are level and some are large. Water, electric and sewer, plus a dumping station. There is no internet! The motel6 down the street had a stronger network server then the campground at our site. When I could get on it bumped me out right away. I asked in the office and was told there were too many people on it, and I should wait until someone gets off. (How about a stronger server?) There is a pool (closed in October) small store, laundry and playground. There are also cabins if needed. They are just about 12 miles from Concord and Lexington for history buffs. The campground is in an industrial area. There were truck and train noises from early morning till late at night. I took my dogs to the dog play area in the morning and a staff people came and told me they were making too much noise, which was laughable considering all the trucks and trains!

It boils down to who your neighbors are

We originally had a one day stay here but after some glitches we settled into a spot and it was very nice. At first (and this has nothing to do with camp it’s the people and their pets that make or break a visit) we had lots kid noise some had 8 kids!! Lots barking and we have dogs so I love dogs just not dogs with no training . But inside the rv we were fine. Next day lots people left and luckily for us a lot of noisy spots were now quiet. So we booked another night. We even talked about another night but this space wasn’t available and to move is a lot of work. Camp site mostly level. Lots trees for shade. Nice fire pit and table at each site. Owners unbelievably nice. They lent us a tool to fix a problem. Lots tents amongst rv’s. Tents have nice big spots with power. We detached tow because we read interior roads narrow. Plus we wanted to site see. The roads are narrow but doable in our 37’ motorhome. Yes big rocks but it’s ok. To leave we think we can attach tow and get out fine. I’d come back here again. But you know it all depends on who pulls in near or next to you and many are respectful and understand rv etiquette but there’s a definite group who are here for their own enjoyment without consideration for others. All it takes is one and that can happen at any campsite. But we we comfortable here.

Very Clean, Very Friendly

We live just down the road from this place so went there for our first-time trip with our new-to-us trailer. Of course we had issues! LOL! And the staff was so helpful and patient (as were nearby campers). As older people, we didn't use the amenities, but our little spot was great, the place was clean and quiet, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Amazing campground and super friendly and helpful staff

I am in the process of doing a long-distance move and am combining this with a long-overdue vacation. This was the first time in my life that I rented an RV. When I arrived after a long and very stressful day of packing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed me my reserved spot, helped me back up into it and patiently answered quite a few “newbie” RV questions.

It’s quite sad that I already have to leave tomorrow because I still have a long journey ahead of me, but I can only warmly recommend this place and if I’m ever back in this area, I will definitely stop by again.

Check-in during COVID times went smoothly. Some sites are a bit close together. Be aware that you can hear a train horn throughout the night, so if you're a light sleeper, that may be an issue. The trees were wonderfully tall, with plenty of shade. Picnic tables and firepits conveniently located on sites.

The White Mountains, New Hemisphere, is a must, worth the short drive especially if you can go in early October, when the leaves are changing. Boston is only 40 minutes away, and the best of Maine is also very close. If you’re not up for sightseeing, and you want a good pizza take the 7 minute walk from the campsite to Chip Shots, yum. The staff and campgrounds were both very nice.

Location! Location! Location!

For being in an urban area, you don't feel it once in the campground. You might hear a distant train, but not too much else. The location was perfect to see so much in the area (Minute Man National Historical Park, Boston, Salem, Plymouth, Cape Cod, Providence etc). It also is near all conveniences, with multiple choices for groceries, restaurants, shopping etc. We headed to a nearby Target one night just to get my fix since I hadn't been in one for ages and we were getting stir crazy in the RV one rainy night during our stay.

The customer service was great - they escort you to your camping spot so there is no confusion. We liked our site "F" which was in the back outer edge of the campground and was at an angle which gave us more privacy between our neighbors and a gorgeous view from our back window. We watched chipmunks, squirrels, hawks and other birds from our windows. It was a 30 amp, back in. We were told that we got the last site, and we were so surprised this was the one - it was so nice! We quickly realized that more people seemed to want the pull through sites, but as you can see in our picture, you skip out on the size and privacy of your site then. The only downside for our site was that it was rainy during our stay and we had some muddy spots to deal with when getting out of our car.

There was only one showerhouse which is at the office, so if you're in the back of the campground, it's a bit of a hike. It was super clean, updated, and they have speakers playing country music 24/7. They also had a nice looking laundry area (we didn't use), a rec room (didn't use), and a pool (didn't use).

The dump station was tight but fine to get into while we were hooked up to our tow car, even though it is on an incline to get out of the campground.

Weekends seemed to be pretty busy, but the campground was dead during the week and we were all by ourselves in our spot. They have cabins tucked in between sites that seemed pretty popular too.

They take a few different discount plans and have a weekly discounted rate as well.

One of our recommendations would be to go to a nearby Korean restaurant, Woo Jung in Ayers. It was soooo good. We found out they weren't open Mondays or Tuesdays because we tried to go back a second time before we left. You won't regret it!
