Wonderful campground with tons of amenities, including a snack bar, private beach and tiki bar with live music! Also has cabins. Downside: Pricy$$$
Great bayfront campground
This is a cool place to visit. They have a beach with a little tiki bar and a really nice pool.
Nice, but you are paying for it to be!
This campground has been Eagle's Nest, Castaways and now it's been taken over by Sun Resorts. Very nice, but you are paying for that as well. We stayed on an Island Oasis site. These sites are small and we paid $250 for a weekend. This was before the pools were even open yet. There are things on site to do....they have a Tiki Bar, nice restrooms, a lovely beach, but you would expect that from a campground like this. If you are looking for the kids to be busy and not around, this is your place....we went as part of a shakedown for our camper, just to make sure that all the systems were working. I thought about going again, but the prices are a little unreal for just camping.
There is a neat brewery close by.....we really enjoyed that!

Great time at the beach!
We spent a week through Labor Day at Sun Outdoors Ocean City (formerly Castaways) in Berlin, MD, as our final trip of the 2023 season. This was our second visit— and we had a great time!
In addition to a great beach area on the bay, pool, and other amenities, this place is about 15-minutes from the Ocean City beach/boardwalk. They run a complimentary bus back and forth to the Ocean City boardwalk and to Assateague Island which is a great reason to stay here. The bus driver, Becky, was great. She gave us helpful advice and provided easy way to get around without having to drive.
Our site(# 254) was a good size for our motor home. It was partial gravel and partial grass/dirt. It would’ve been nice to have more gravel or grass because I hate how the sandy dirt tracks inside. It backed up to a dense wall of bamboo which makes for partial privacy. We rented a golf cart which made it easy to get around(and entertainment for the kids). Our only negative is that the wi-fi was non-existent which is common among many of the campgrounds we’ve visited.
For the 4-legged campers, there is a designated dog-friendly beach plus dog run and dog wash station. We used it all and are glad they offered these amenities.
In addition the Ocean City boardwalk and to Assateague Island, the town of Berlin was fun to walk around on a day that was too cool for the beach.
The place went from having lots of empty sites earlier in the week to being nearly full by the weekend. And even with so many people, the place was kept fairly clean and quiet at night. The camp store was well-stocked with all the usual stuff plus beer, a cafe for food, an ice cream parlor, and arcade.
Bottom line: We had a great time at Sun Outdoors Ocean City and can’t wait to go back!
THINGS I LIKED: Clean and well-maintained property and facilities Complimentary shuttle to the Ocean City boardwalk and to Assateague Island Proximity to Ocean City
THINGS I’D CHANGE: Give us working wi-fi(please!) Add some gravel to the site to cover up the sandy dirt

What a Great Place!
We spent a 5-day Labor Day weekend at what used to be called Castaways RV Resort as our final trip of the 2022 season. And what a great place to be!
In addition to a great beach area, pool, and other amenities, this place is about 15-minutes from the Ocean City beach/boardwalk. They run a complimentary hourly shuttle van back and forth to the boardwalk which is a great reason to stay here.
Our site(# 252) was a good size for our motor home. It was partial gravel and partial grass/dirt. It would’ve been nice to have more gravel or grass because I hate how the sandy dirt tracks inside. It backed up to a dense wall of bamboo which makes for great privacy and there were enough trees to create some shade(which is great).
For the 4-legged campers, there is a designated dog-friendly beach plus dog run and dog wash station. We used it all and are glad they offered these amenities.
I’m not sure if this was amped up for the holiday weekend or if it’s normal at this campground, but there was live music at the beach and a DJ at the pool which made for a great atmosphere. The camp store was well-stocked with all the usual stuff plus beer, a cafe for food, an ice cream parlor, and arcade.
My only complaint is that the wi-fi didn’t work for us at our site. We couldn’t use our phones or stream movies because there was no signal. When we rode up to the front of the campground, by the office, it worked better but that didn’t help us at our site. I know most campgrounds fail on this item, but it’s 2022 and we want wi-fi!
Bottom line: We had a great time at Sun Outdoors Ocean City and can’t wait to go back!
THINGS I LIKED:
Clean and well-maintained property and facilities
Complimentary shuttle to boardwalk
Proximity to Ocean City
THINGS I’D CHANGE:
- Give us working wi-fi(please!)
- Add some gravel to the site to cover up the sandy dirt

Great Camping Near the OC, MD Beach
An awesome campground located on the east coast near Ocean City, MD and the Atlantic Ocean. This was our first visit to Castaways. Lots to do and loads of fun. We love it! our site was roomy and nicely kept. The bathhouse, laundry and pool areas were very clean and looked new! The dock was close by for fishing, crabbing and kayaking fun. We enjoyed the pool and beach areas. Close proximity to Ocean City, MD and we hitched a ride on the campground’s shuttle bus to the beach and had a wonderful time. This campground will definitely become a yearly visit and we look forward to our next stay.

Fun
Great spot for family
Nice campsites, big campground, no privacy
This is a nice campground but it is crowded! The sites have more living space than some we’ve been to but don’t come here for privacy.
Awesome RV Beach Resort
The location is amazing. You are a stones throw away from the boardwalk at Ocean City Maryland.
The resort is very nice. It has, hands-down, the best dog beach we’ve ever experienced at an RV park.
Warning, the tiki bar gets lit. The crowd is pretty rowdy at all times of the day (and night), so if you prefer for it to be a little quieter, do not reserve a spot near the tiki bar.
The tiki bar typically has live music and it’s pretty good too. We really enjoyed the music.
Also, be careful of raging golf carts. Everyone has them and apparently they can only be driven at max speed.
Overall, this is a really fun resort and definitely a place where people come to party.
Found the Love of Camping at Castaways
We started camping for the first time in 2020 and were extremely new. We jumped right into the Class A and went to Castaways for the first trip. While there we had many problems with the Class A. Not mechanical problems but "never having camped" problems. The staff at Castaways bent over backwards to help us out the entire weekend. Never did I see a frown or " here they go again" face but always asking if there is anything else they could do for us. Because of them we have fallen in love with camping or glamping as we know it. We made several trips to Castaways last year and in 2021 our first inaugural trip was there again. We had no problems this year but it is very reassuring to know that if we need help we can ask. The staff remembered us from last year (hopefully that is a good thing) and we will definitely go back. Thank you Castaways for giving us the "Love of Camping" .
Relaxed Party Beach
This is a fun mainly RV and Cabin campground. It has a bar on the beach and lots of fun amenities. The camp store/ restaurant has nice options and fun merchandise. The campground is load of fun to walk around, drive a golf cart around, or just people watch. I have stayed in both an RV and cabin. The RV spots are easy to pull into, in great locations, and decently spaced out. The cabins are very well laid out, has a lot of room, and are super "beach bummy." The cabins are fairly pricey, but worth the cost! I have only stayed here on the "off seasons" but have been impressed. The place does have a bit of a trash problem, but that is due to the people staying here. It is not a wonderful place for the kids as it does remain quite loud at night and it is a partying place, but I have always camped with my family with younger children and faced no problems. The beach bar is VERY strict about being 21 or older and can get extremely rude about it, but it is understandable. Overall a great place to stay!
Love this place
What a great visit are having. Beautiful location with lots of space for everyone. Great beach and tiki bar. Pools for the family and very pet friendly. We stayed in the ‘big rig’ site within Club Castaway right on the water as we have a 40ft rig. Amenities are clean, staff friendly and helpful. Our dog, Daisy, loved the beach and the dog park and socialization w her pooch friends. Will be back.
Top shelf
Great RV park. Right on the bay with sunset views. 12 min to Ocean City boardwalk. Beautiful golf course right next store. I’ll be back!
Will not be returning
We did not have a great experience this time around. 7 hours after set up, the"camp host" came by and told us and all of our immediate neighbors we needed to move because we were all 3 feet back to far. Apparently we're not supposed to back up past the electrical boxes. There are no markings indicating that and also if that is the case, they should have people dedicated to guiding people into their sites. Our neighbors had already been there for over 2 days before being told to move. Upon arrival, the site was dirty(empty cups, bottle caps,& cigarette butts). The pool furniture was old and rusty. The day of check-out, someone was on my site, 3 hours before checkout cleaning out the fire ring and I hadn't even had a chance to cook breakfast over it yet. We paid resort prices and have stayed at MUCH better resorts for the same price. After this, we unfortunately will not be returning.
So worth it
This is such an amazing place to take a family for vacation. Club Castaways is the place to be here, though. The campground is a bit crowded and lively outside Club Castaways but it is still an amazing place for how close you are to the water. Bayfront campground, can see Ocean City lit up at night. Such a beautiful place to stay.

Love castaways
A beautiful and very well maintained campground. Friendly people, good sized sites, plenty to do. Kid friendly!
Club Castaway is the spot to be
A majority of the park is a mix of sandy sites sparsely covered by crabgrass and sand spurs. But there’s a gem... the club Castaway area is an extra gated spot on the water with grassy sites and level paved pads. The area had a private dock for fishing and crabbing and the sunrise is a must see from the deck. You pay for this view but it’s worth it.
Very nice
Very nice campground. Great location, beautiful scenery, friendly people.
Small but beautiful
Site #271
Full hookups: 20/30/50 amp water & sewer
Very nice/small campground on the Sinepuxent bay. Gets very busy during the weekend, even though it's considered off season but people respect quiet hours. We could hear the live band perfectly from our site which we liked. Not too many planned activities but free shuttle to nearby Berlin & Ocean City.Short drive to all Ocean City has to offer. Clean bath houses and golf cart rental was an added bonus! Highly recommend our site to anyone with littles as you can literally relax at your site while your child plays at the playground! All sites included a fire ring with cooking grate and picnic table. Fairly easy to back in but they do have pull throughs available as well. Site was fairly spacious and campground is SUPER pet friendly!

Absolutely beautiful bayside campground resort
Beautiful well equipped and appointed campground on the water facing the beautiful Assateague National Seashore, home of the wild assateague ponies. You won’t be disappointed in your stay here! Lots to do nearby and just minutes from Ocean City Md yet away from the hustle bustle. They have two separate beaches even a big one for your fur kids. Which mine thoroughly enjoyed.
Near Ocean City and Assateague Island
Different camping zones, beach, dog beach, waterside bar and grill, nice pool, clean.
Camping Resort, All-in--One
Castaways has been making more improvements, if that is even possible. Many different tiers of camping and cabins. Shuttle runs into Ocean City during the season. Pool, stocked camp store, lunch and ice cream available, not to mention the Tiki bar. You really never have to leave once you are set up here.
We've held numerous Heartland Owners Club Rally's here and always drew larger than normal participation. Participants like that they can visit Assateague or Ocean City, both within a close drive
Once you've stayed here, their reservation system make new reservations a snap. They even keep the dogs' rabies information on file! It's like family!
Camping In Luxury
This truly is a resort. Beach, Pool, Music, Bars, and many other ameneties all in one spot! Lots of activities for the kids as well.
