Not for tent campers
We stayed one night on our way to Acadia and the tent sites were extremely small and very close together. Seems more of an RV spot
Nice Place
The campground is not far from Portland, ME. It is nice and clean and the restrooms are very clean. The camping sites are pretty close together, but that’s normal being this close to town.
The Blissful Duck
This place was definitely what my wife and I were looking for, a quiet, peaceful stay! Check in was easy and staff was very friendly!
Quiet and scenic
Went here in late April right when they opened so it wasn’t full. It was probably half full and exceptionally quiet. We had a full hookup premium site on the marsh (site 30). Enjoyed wonderful sunrises/sunsets and watched egrets hunt the tidal pools at dusk from our campfire ring. Owner was very nice. Didn’t use the bathhouse so can’t comment on its cleanliness. Eastern Trail and Audubon Wildlife Refuge is nearby, and several good restaurants. 20 minutes drive to Portland. We enjoyed our weekend and will come again.
Great experience! We will return!
Spent three nights in a nice sized, quiet spot, on the camps’ outside loop. The park is well located, near the beach, shopping, and with access to Portland. Good walking, good restaurants, and a great specialty grocery store around the corner. We will return.
Not for tent campers
This campground is more an RV/trailer park. No privacy. Tent area seems like and afterthought. Stay one night and receive a partial refunded for the second night.
Quiet campground
First time for us at this campground but not our last. A small campground with not a ton of sites but that is what we like. The owner was great during our stay and made us feel very welcome. Centrally located to many spots. This is a quiet and low key campground so if you are looking for lots of activities then this isn't the place to be.
Great location!
My wife and I enjoy riding our bikes on rail trails. This quiet campground is about a mile from the Eastern Trail through the Scarborough Marsh. This campground is small but well maintained. We had a "seasonal" site for two nights in September. It was very large and level with a picnic table and fire ring. The owners spend a lot of time on site making sure everything is in order.
Hidden Portland Gem
Close to the city of Portland, about 20 minutes, but tucked away in the beautiful riverside marsh. 21+ up, I called here short notice and they were able to bring me in for a budget friendly price. Sites are close together but kept very clean and level. A good amount of RVs but everyone was extremely respectful and nice. Would definitely recommend to those looking to get away for a weekend! Kayaks/canoes available at the front desk.
Adults only campground
Quiet. No pool. Mosquitoes.
Outstanding campground
Very great campground. This location gives you a whole new look into old orchards scenery. During sunrise and sunset, the marshes reflect the sun and give the perfect picture for relaxation.
The bathrooms and showers are very clean, and the staff keeps the area very clean! We will return to this campground in the coming years.
A little buggy
This campground is small. It is an adult only campground, so no kids running around. It was nice and quiet. They lacked a camp store. Since it is by the marsh there were a lot of mosquitoes (August). The shower and bathroom area is rather small but very clean.
Nice campground. BRING BUGSPRAY!!!
My husband and I stayed here in our popup for two nights in June 2018. The campground was veeerrryyy quiet, we almost felt bad making noise as we set up upon arrival. The grounds were well maintained and the owners were very nice and accommodating, especially given our late arrival. The only negative of this place was the mosquitoes. They were TERRIBLE. In the time it took after we parked the camper, to when I could dig the bug spray out of our truck I was covered in bites. That night the camper was full of bugs too. Overall, I would recommend this place if you were interested in staying close to Portland.
Beautiful & Quiet
We stayed here on our way from Boston to Acadia. This is a beautiful campground that caters to adults only. It feels very secluded but it's close to everything. The tent sites are pretty close to each other but we had no issues with noise. Bathhouse and bathrooms were very clean. I would definitely stay here again!
