4.5 stars
After paying 240 bucks for two nights and then driving on a bumpy gravel road and into a small and not very flat gravel site with closer neighbors than most state parks, I was thinking that this place was going to be my first 3 star review. Buuuuuuttttt...... then we drove 1.5 miles to Goose Rocks Beach and my kids and I enjoyed one of the best beaches I have ever experienced. Absolutely perfect beach. Then we drove past the Bush Compound and downtown into Kennebunkport. Absolutely gorgeous. Then we got back to the campground and my kids and I took our paddleboards into the salt marsh directly from the campground. Stunningly clear salt water and breathtaking scenery. This campground is all about its location, and it's location is off the charts. Don't get me wrong, the campground is nice, but just not $120/night nice. There are two playgrounds, a pool, bocce court, smashball, The restrooms are clean and plentiful. The sites are closer together and less private than I would have hoped for (though ours was better than most), and I would definitely expect paved roads for the price. That being said, this was one of our favorite places ever. Would definitely come back. After touring the campground, the salt marsh loop is by far the best and most scenic. It is mostly glamping tents down there, but there were several open sites with water and electric right on the marsh, and i wondered why those weren't an option when I booked. The seasonal sites were well kept and the clientele here overall were classy.
Sandy Pines
Beautiful setting, very well run, clean and comfortable bathrooms. Lots of family friendly amenities
Nice place.
We enjoyed our stay here. Great location for goose rocks beach and exploring Kennebunkport. The campground is clean and the facilities are in great shape. Quite a few seasonal campers here and the sites don’t have much privacy would be my only negatives. Would camp here again.
Worth it!!
I tent camped here with my two kids (age 6 and 4) in 2018. I think they have gotten a bit fancier since, with more glamping options (there were some gorgeous ones then too!) but tent camping there was amazing. We were deep in on a loop against the marsh, we had tree cover and it felt quiet and secluded, even with neighbors and booking relatively late so not getting first choice. Out of the craziness of town and SO close to a great locals beach. Wonderful store and facilities, beautiful pool with very natural landscaping, playground and even some simple fun activities for the kids. The very best.

Quiet in a beautiful setting
We stayed here to see the fall colors. The park is laid out very nice. The sites are nice size with gravel. They are under trees so we could watch the colors change. There is some nice amenities but not all were in use this time of year. It is a short drive to the beach and the town of Kennebunkport. They have some fun alternatives to stay in if you don’t have an RV or want family to visit. A quiet place with friendly staff.
Sheik Glamping at its Best
Sandy Pines is located a very short bike ride from Cape Porpoise, home of Nunann's Restaurant , Mussette, Lost Fire and Pier 77. Some of the best food in the area without having to deal with the crushing crowds of the Kennebunkport scene. Ride 10 minutes in the opposite direction and you arrive at Goose Rocks Beach , the best shoreline beach on southern Maine.
Sandy Pines has impeccably maintained campsites for all style of camper and tent . If you do not have either one, you can rent one of their super funky Gypsy Wagons, A Frame chalets or Glam-tents on the platform . Just add yourself and stir. You cannot have a bad time.

A+++
Such a great campground! Bathhouses were spotless and staff was so friendly. We will definitely be back and hope to stay longer next time.
Awesome campground
Awesome campground. Beautiful setting, lots of trees, bordering on beautiful marsh area. Many different types of campsites: rent, RV, seasonal RV, cottages, glamping tents and cabins etc. We stayed at site 4 in Beach Rose area. Loved it. Super well maintained, owners invested a ton in upgrades. Cleanest bathrooms and showers (individual stalls) we’ve ever seen. Great location - can walk to beach on dyke road, good hiking nearby at Steele Nature Preserve. Good road biking with shoulders on many roads. Awesome place, we would return. Note that it used to be called Salty Acres but was renamed Sandy Pines.

My favorite campground
This place is so great! We have camped here every year for the past few years. I love the bathrooms, always very clean and they are singles! Great short bike ride to a beautiful beach! Love it!
Fine campground ... not for tent campers
We stayed here in Summer 2019.
We had a nice time as this is a very well maintained family campground.
Pros
It was over 90 degrees the whole time so we were very glad for the pool.
It's in a beautiful area and you can walk (not a short walk) to beach - it's was also great.
Cons
- The most significant con was that this campground is truly only for RV camping. Us tent campers we on sites with zero trees. It almost felt as if they were trying to dissuade tent campers from coming here. The tent sites we were at were all next to each other, again, with zero trees for shade cover and zero trees for privacy. See photos - we were basically in the wide open.
- It's it's very expensive for what you get in tent camping here

Amazing family campground
This place was great for families with a pool, lots of play spaces and lawn games. They had the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a camp ground. The sites are a bit close together is the only bad thing I'd mention.
RV, Glamp, or Tent
I am really still new to the whole travel trailer thing. We had a full hook up site, mixed in with a bunch of vintage campers. It was Vintage Camper weekend afterall. While the sites are not super spread out, they are not right on top each other either. This campground is immaculate. Everyone we encountered from campers to staff were super friendly. For those so inclined, there is great mountain biking either through the Tyler Preserve down to Cape Porpoise or North through the Emmitt Smith Preserve. While I love the having all the emmenities, I think we would have enjoyed one of the electric only sites closer to the Marsh. Highly recommend the whole experience though.
In love with Sandy Pines
Of the camping we did this summer, this one is the only one on my list of must return. If you want Glamping, this is the place to be. Nice wooded lots. Close to the beach. The pool is very nice. Great place to bring a family. I can’t think of anything they could improve.
Romantic Campground
Even with our three preteens with us, this campground has an air of romance. Happy sounds of children riding bikes, peaceful kayaking, spotless bath house... nearby EcoAdventures made this Glamping trip memorable.

Amazing!
We absolutely love sandy pines!! All of the staff are so friendly and helpful! I had to leave my wife and kids for a few days and they checked in on them to make sure they were ok. They went above and beyond as far as I’m concerned. There are planned upgrades over the off season that should put this place as the number one campground in Maine! We have seen the glamping sites and each is unique and special. Highly recommend at least a long weekend here. You won’t regret it!

Immaculate!
This is our first visit to Sandy Pines and we are so impressed with how well groomed this property is. We stayed in the Beach Rose section and we have full hookups. We took a mid- September vacation and love how nice it is with fellow campers spread out. We are not resort campers, but this is very nice now that children are back in school. The pool is heated and very inviting. There is a playground. So many choices of cabins or glamping tents to rent. Dogs are welcome. Big rig friendly. Very close to attractions and restaurants and stores. We will be back next year with friends. We camped in our Minnie Winnie travel trailer. The Wi-Fi is hit and miss unsecured. Mostly miss.
Pristine beautiful campground
This is high end camping! Cleanest nicest bathrooms and showers I’ve ever seen camping. Also fun game areas and a beautiful store which has good food too! The sites are very nice and not too close together. We tent camp but they also offer small cabins which looked adorable and glamping tents. Easy access to local trails and tourist spots. A fantastic campground I hope to return to

BEAUTIFUL
This is such a pretty campground, whether in an RV as we were, or tenting. Our site was Beach Rose 36, which was far enough away from the other RV's to make it private. The site was level and included all hookups, picnic table and firepit. There were amenities galore, clean bath houses, a general store, heated pool, a great play area for the kids, and so much more! The beach and historic area were only a 10 minute drive!! Would definitely go back! *** Product Review *** As a Ranger with The Dyrt, I get to test and review products that are of use for campers. The perfect t-shirt for this trip worn by my sweetie, is a Roanline original. Just the right thickness, with double sewn hem, to keep its shape after washing. The color, dark navy blue, makes it easy to match every type of pants you have! Definitely a 5 star product!

Great tent site
Our tent site at Sandy Pines was a bit small, and we were a bit closer to the people in the sites on each side than we would have liked, but overall, we had a good stay. We could hear the ocean from our site and had a nice view of the marsh area behind us.
Great place
ound this campground when searching kind of last minute for somewhere to go for the week of the 4th and I can say it did not disappoint. From what I understand they are under new management as of last year and the new owners wasted no time bringing this place up to speed. They have plenty of sites for everything, new bathrooms/showers, lots of upgrades to plumbing and electricity , as well as newly renovated common areas, like the pool. On top of all that there is a small waterway that leads right out to some tidal rivers that go to the ocean, great for kayaking and fishing. Beautiful wooded sites with sunrises over the marshes. The staff was very friendly and helpful with whatever you needed. We will be back.
Excellent recently remodeled and expanded campgorund in an ideal location
The owners renovated and expanded this campground and did a fantastic job. The back end of the campground is a salt marsh, campers can put in canoes and kayaks right from the campground. We love this place and the staff as well. The only reason I give if 4 instead of five stars is that there are only a few transient sites that can handle a camper over 30ft.
