Awesome place to stay
We had a blast. Rode horses, hiked geocached, lots to do.

Very roomy
The roads are not marked very well and it took a bit to find our site which needed level blocks and is just wide enough for the Rv. Nice to have water supply within 10 feet. Very quiet, shady paved sites in Taylor’s Ridge loop.

The best of Indiana State Parks
I love this campground. My family has always had a great experience. The campground is very well maintained and the sites are heavily wooded and well spaced apart. Generally speaking, the other campers are friendly and I have always found the staff to be incredibly courteous, professional, and helpful. Could not recommend the state park system enough and I consider Brown County the crown jewel.
Beautiful State Park
Nice camp sites with privacy, clean bathrooms and shower facilities. Quiet and peaceful. Fall colors were amazing. Mother Nature gave us a a little snow which was unusual for this time of year.
Nice Campground
We've done day trips here in the past and have always enjoyed this park. Lots of trails to hike, for all levels of hikers. Nice playgrounds and beautiful sites for picnics. This was our first overnight trip in a travel trailer. The different ridges offer a variety of experiences. We stayed in Taylor ridge. The sites here were not level, heavily wooded and more rocks than grassy areas. Site 211 was a handicap site and close to the shower building. Had to fit the trailer between 2 trees at the opening of the site. Raccoon ridge appeared to be more for tent campers. Buffalo ridge appeared more level, lots of grassy areas, close to the small camp store and playground and open areas.
HUGE park and campground!
General: Three main campgrounds (Buffalo Ridge, Raccoon Ridge, and Taylor Ridge) with a total of over 400 sites (including 10 accessible sites in Buffalo Ridge); we stayed in Taylor Ridge. There is also a lodge and cabins. You will have to pay a day-use fee in addition to your camping fee.
Site Quality: All of the sites in Taylor Ridge are electric which is likely why we reserved here since we did not know what the weather would be like on the downside of October. All of the sites in this campground are nicely wooded; not all are level, but we lucked out with site 315, which is at the end of one of the “cul-de-sacs”. The only downside to this was that cars constantly drove to the end and whipped around the turnaround. You are given a map at check-in which shows this is obviously not a through road but maybe a sign would be helpful? As with other Indiana state parks we have visited, the picnic table is very skimpy and cannot seat more than four comfortably.
Bathhouse: Three very clean bathhouses with ample stalls and showers. Did not use the shower. There are several vault toilets to supplement the larger bathhouses, and these appeared to be clean and in good condition.
Activities: There are many hiking trails. Unfortunately, we arrived in the late afternoon and had to leave early the next morning, so we did not explore any of the trails. Mountain biking is also popular (there are several trails for this) and there is a HUGE horseman’s camp, which appeared full during our stay. There is also a swimming pool that is open during the summer. In October, the park was geared up for Halloween with a site decorating contest, a hayride on the weekends, and other activities.
Conclusion: I was a bit overwhelmed with how big this park was, and I wish we had more time here to explore some of the hiking trails as it seems like a very nice park. Exiting the park to the south can be challenging, as the road Google Maps directs you to had a gate blocking it and the maps direct you through the Horseman’s Camp which you are not supposed to drive through, however, a park employee called ahead and we were told it would be ok as long as we drove very slowly so as not to spook the horses.

Great weekend in Brown County
Stayed in the Taylor Ridge Campground at Brown County State Park. We had great weather and a great time. We have visited Nashville Indiana several times but this is our first time camping nearby. My wife loves to visit Nashville and all the little shops they offer. The park offers great trails and several playgrounds for kids. Two lakes for fishing. Abe Martin lodge offers breakfast lunch and dinner at the restaurant. My sister rented a cabin and was able to get access to the indoor pool that also has a water slide. All around great visit.
Clean, family friendly
We went camping with a bunch of friends, two campers and two tents. Had a great time, bathrooms were clean, kids had fun. The fall months are crazy busy. Not all lots are truly great for tents and the backs of some lots can have a super steep drop off since the camp grounds have a higher elevation so that made me a bit nervous camping with s kids. Lots of great hiking trails, a nature center, public pool, small market, horse trails and water views.
Perfect weekend trip.
This is our go-to when we want a fun weekend, but don't want to go far. The campgrounds are gorgeous, with lots of shady spots, and some awesome trails, including two around the two lakes in the park. Nashville is only a 5 minute drive from the campgrounds, and it's a blast going to all of the different shops and restaurants located in town.
Simply amazing!
I didn’t want to leave. Everything was clean, good trails and friendly faces everywhere.
Always a treat
We love it here. We always stay in “Taylor’s Ridge” Campgrounds are nice, plenty of dump stations and water fill stations. Hiking trails are great! This is a regular stop for us.

Brown County State Park
Not a bad park. No paved sites. Built on ridges, so all sites have a slope of some sorts.
$9 non-resident entrance fee plus $30 (and taxes). For a Thursday night the place was filling up fast for the weekend. ATT & Verizon signals were weak, but usable. Did not use the facilities, so no comment on them.
Would return for a night over, but certainly not a destination.
Popular state park campground with lots to do
Brown County (BC) campground is very popular and frequently full in the summer. We recently stayed in spot 203 in the Taylor Ridge loop, which is an electric site. There are many sites in the area, but this site is more private than most as it backs up to the ravine. It was a large site. All sites have fire rings with grate and picnic table. Most sites have gravel driveways but some are paved. The Indiana State Parks Reserve America site indicates the driveway grade. Our site was labeled as "slight" and required just a little bit of leveling for our trailer (small teardrop). Some sites have a much more severe grade, and some trailers looked a bit precariously parked due to the grade.
Bathrooms are so-so in the BC campgrounds. There are vault toilets and modern restrooms with showers. Showerheads could really use a descale. Water temperature was great, not too hot or too cool. The modern restrooms were cleaned once per day, pretty thoroughly. 1-ply toilet paper.
BC has three campground areas, Buffalo Ridge, Raccoon Ridge, and Taylor Ridge. Buffalo Ridge is pretty much an open field but has the nicest restrooms. It's also right near the entrance and campstore, so it's busy with lots of comings and goings at all hours. No shade, no privacy.
Raccoon Ridge is semi-wooded and smaller. It is a loop off of the main road so you don't get as much traffic driving by all of the time. Taylor Ridge follows a long ridge (hence the name), so sites are mostly side by side along the main road. A drawback to this is you get the main road traffic driving by most sites. A plus to this is you don't have people to all sides of you, just left and right (for most of the sites).
There is a mountain bike trail and a hiking trail that connect right off of the Taylor Ridge campground. You can hike for miles connecting to the various Brown County trails.
There is a pool, inn, several playgrounds, nature center, and a fire tower in the park. Many of these things were closed due to coronavirus, but will reopen at some point.
BC has recently redone several of its accessible sites and they looked really nice.
BC gets four stars for me because there is a lot to do in the park and the campground isn't that bad. There are much nicer campgrounds in the region, but they don't have the other recreational amenities BC has.
Beautiful place
The hiking trails here are awesome! Something for every level! The campground is pretty and spacious. Very peaceful. Great for just day trips as well.

Beautiful
This campground is huge! It has a ton of spots. We got a group of spots pretty far back so it was a bit of a drive through the campground. We went on multiple walks and my 2 year old loved it! They have a few playgrounds, including one nestled back a little bit in the trees. The nature center was cool for all of the kids and even adults and the views were just beautiful! We will definitely be back. Would love to make a trip in October when the leaves have changed next year!

Great time
Tent camping & hiking
Awesome campground; great views!
This was our first family visit to Brown County State Park and we really loved it. The park is gigantic! It takes a long time to get from the entrance of the park to the actual campground, but the drive is beautiful. The sites around us were spacious and had a lot of mature trees. The nature center is really fun with animals and a bee hive that the children really enjoyed! There are a lot of diverse hiking trails for all. The nearby shopping, wineries and restaurants are definitely a plus as well. This is now one of our favorite destinations and cannot wait to return!

Safe and Family Friendly
The camp grounds at Brown County State Park are safe and family friendly. They can be crowded at times, however the other campers are normally very friendly and inviting. The park has a great deal to offer with regards to activities, such as swimming and hiking. The mountain bike trails are some of the best in the state. Great place for a family vacation.
Very nice
We love camping here. Very clean bathrooms and shower houses
Taylor Ridge is awesome!
All of Brown County State Park is beautiful, be we particularly love camping down in Taylor Ridge! It’s very secluded, quiet and beautiful. We have not made a long trip there yet, so we are not aware of the condition of the facilities. But I’m sure they are just as beautiful as the rest of the park. Brown County is the whole package, camping, hiking, horseback riding, breath-taking overlooks. It’s definitely worth the trip! I recommend spending an afternoon in Downtown Nashville while you’re there! It the the most adorable little town.

Love;love;love
Love this place!
Great trails nearby!
We stayed one night driving through the state. The trails are great for mountain biking! The camp spots are pretty close together but we were able to distance ourselves since it was during the week.
fun
lots of fun short hikes and a couple old fire towers to climb. campsites are small. there is a winery and distillery close
Nice place to stay
Campground is kept clean, sites are average size.
The views were amazing.
There are 3 separate campgrounds in the park Buffalo Ridge, Raccoon, and Taylor Ridge. We stayed in Taylor which was dubbed "wooded" and the one I would most suggest. The others were pretty cleared out and too close together.
High capacity park, plenty of trails
The property is gorgeous, with lots of campsites. They aren't too close together. But on a busy weekend (basically any time during peak season) there are going to be SO MANY people there. Definitely not a back country experience. Still love this place.
Great SP near Nashville, IN
This place is beautiful in the fall. Great campgrounds with lots of sites to choose from. Some can be small in size.
