Sycamore Springs’ 250 acres are home to 10 shelter houses, numerous playgrounds, fishing ponds, a softball field, basketball court, wedding chapel, 35 tent camping sites and 64 RV camping sites. As a bonus, firewood is free for campers. Sycamore Springs is family friendly (alcohol is not allowed) and offers sites for all types of camping. Water views are available and there are fire pits on all sites. Camping cabins are offered at a discounted rate during the week, and the fully furnished House of Annie & Bud also awaits.

Awesome campground

This place is so beautiful. It has at least 11 playgrounds for kids and a small "town" complete with school house, play houses, a library, and a building for parents. Goats to pet. A small river two ponds and areas for tent campers all the way to full hookups. Super clean bathrooms are nice.

Sitenot sure number stayed at a few twice on pond side .

FREE FIREWOOD!!!

I did not know what I reserved when I did, so it was pleasant surprise when we pulled up to a pull-through site with full utilities and lake front. Very quiet, amazing sunsets, unbelievably clean and well-kept park. Each site has its own trash can that staff haul off. There’s a creek that runs the perimeter of the park that’s great for dogs wanting to take a dip. Best of all - FREE FIREWOOD!

Perfect family campground

We spent the weekend here and absolutely loved it. It's perfect for our young kids. There are multiple playgrounds, over a dozen, and our kids loved traveling around to play on them all. The spots are level and nice, even if a little close together, which was our only complaint. But we were right on the creek and the kids loved walking in it. The trails were great and the bridge is a must see. We used the shower one night for our kids and they were so clean and had great hot water. This park is clean, dog friendly (our dog loved it too), and has tons to do.

Excellent family camping

One of my family's favorite places to go camping. Tons of room for the kids to roam and explore, so many playgrounds they're almost a tripping hazard, and free firewood. We like camping in "Deer Lake" #s 405-408 and "Timberlake" #s 315-318. (Deer Lake is electric, Timberlake is not.)

Water spigots are plentiful, and the campground has maybe a dozen large pavilions you can reserve for free, or scurry into in case of a pop up shower. I've already mentioned the playgrounds, and in addition there's a waterfall, old steel bridge with a connected spiral staircase, and even a village of tiny houses. They recently installed a BMX track, but made the mistake of using large gravel to "pave" it--it's too soft and nearly impossible to ride on quickly.

The only real knock I can give the place is that the sites are REALLY small, and some are not so level--I strongly advise you get at least two to gain separation from your neighbors. They're also sticklers about the numbers of tents on each site--they'll allow more than one but WILL make you pay for each. Sites are not prepped (no tent pads), and have no fire rings so prepare accordingly.

There is a decent creek (Little Blue) and a pond (Deer Lake) you can fish, but I've never managed to pull anything bigger than a small sunfish from the creek, and I've never seen anyone pull anything at all from Deer Lake, including myself. Deer Lake does provide excellent sunsets across the water though.

Overall, with the free firewood and all of the features to occupy the kids, this place is a winner for families. If they'll start giving campers a little more room and would improve the sites a little, it would be perfect.

I love this place!

Playgrounds everywhere. Nice big sites with full hookups in the newer section. Price is very nominal for the amenities in my opinion. We were able to go “creeking” do trail walking, bike riding. Just a super neat little place. They even have a little village set up houses to play in! There is even free firewood! Would definitely go back. Throughly enjoyed by all of us!

Friendly, quiet and clean

My wife and I went to Sycamore Springs Park a few weeks ago and stayed for 3 days. We tent camped and it was fantastic. We were right at the lake edge. The campsite had electric but no water, but the water was just across the road at a shelter. The park assigned campers to where they were distanced from each other due to COVID. The showers were the best I've seen, clean and strong pressure. It is also pet friendly. Our Golden loved the camp and the lake. I recommend this camp to all who want a quiet get away.

Best Family Camping

It used to be free with an email request for a reservation but eventually the foundation that runs this campground did have to start charging a small fee to help with maintenance and operating costs. It’s a very family oriented campground with more rules than many campgrounds, such as no alcohol. They want it to be kid friendly and not a party destination. My husband is a “sit around the fire with a beer” kinda fella but he didn’t mind giving up a couple beers for such an awesome experience. They have great hiking trails, a creek with a couple “swimming hole” spots, several large wooden playground systems, a village of playhouses for the kids, an awesome stairway and walkway on a cliff, beautiful surroundings and an awesome staff!!

Great Family Campground!

I can only reiterate what others have posted. Beautiful wide open property! Kids can ride bikes all day long, splash in the creeks, and play on the multitude of playground equipment. The river sites are a bit close and were evacuated during a flash flood for good reason. Water came up to their sites. Very clean restrooms, sites, and trash cans provided throughout grounds. Great place for family retreat!

This campground has RV sites and tent sites, pond to fish in and plenty of playgrounds for the children. Clean showers and bathrooms and friendly staff.

Love it!

We’ve been camping there for three years! Clean and very well tended! Bathrooms with running water and showers. Free firewood is provided. This is a very kid friendly place for families.

Beautiful escape!

I've been to Sycamore Springs for 2 Girl Scout campouts and one family/friends overnight. The campground has firewood nearby each camp sight, lost of rest rooms and shelter houses, as well as beautifully maintained parks and play areas. There are multiple hiking areas and a pond to fish in.
