Overview

Bell Bay Campground is a prime place to set up camp on Coeur d'Alene Lake. The upper camp loop is on a hill overlooking the beautiful lake, while the lower loop sits on a short ridge along the shoreline.

Recreation

Hikers enjoy the Bell Bay Trail, a foot path that runs for a mile around the lake shore. The lake beach offers plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, power boating and canoeing. Anglers enjoy the abundance of trout, salmon and panfish in the vast lake.

Natural Features

Located in the Panhandle of northern Idaho, the campground is surrounded by a forest of Ponderosa and other mixed pines. It lies on the southeast shores of Coeur d'Alene Lake just north of Harrison, Idaho. The lake spans 50 square miles, offering countless recreation opportunities and scenic views for visitors.

Nearby Attractions

The town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on the northern side of the lake, is a popular destination. About an hour away, the area offers paddle boat rentals, ferry rides, sea plane rides and more.

From Pinehurst, Idaho, take Interstate 90 west and turn south on Highway 3. Make a right on Highway 97 and continue north for 13 miles. Turn west onto Road 314 (also known as East Point Road) and continue 3 miles to campground.

Some sites on the water

Nice, pleasant campground on the bay. Some tent sites overlooking the water, or can be used with truck camper or van. Some sites across the road can see the bay. Not big rig friendly. Water available. Clean pit toilets. &24/$12 with senior pass. 36 miles from town, but takes about an hour to get here. Stayed 8/1. Campground closed after 9/25.

Beautiful, but cramped

Had the most beautiful view of the lake, also very well maintained. The sites however are kind of small and super close together so if you’re wanting a romantic type of camping trip this ain’t it. Also the swiming dock is at the bottom of a pretty steep hill, so as a single mom trying to get my kayak down and back up all by myself was a beast. Once we got to the lake we had a blast though! Over all we had a good time, we may go back, but we may not

The campground is closed

I was planning to spend my night in this campground but upon arrival the gates where locked up both for the upper and lower campgrounds, it seems that this campground was closed for a while because even the signage can't be read because of overgrown bushes on it.

Nice but Better Nearby

Fun spot. I have only boat camped it. The docks offer mooring and a porta potty at the lower part of the campground. Steep but doable hike from the water up to the RV campsites. Some campsites offer incredible views looking south over the lake. For better Lake camping look up Mica Bay Boaters park or Mowry campground which I do not see listed on TheDyrt map, but is just a 5 min boat ride across the lake from Bell Bay.

Nice place

Amazing camp spots if you can reserve one on the lower loop water side, you'll have a campground looking directly out towards the water. Campsite had plenty of room, toilets and water close by. Boat docks for water access down a steep trail, and several short hikes. Come to enjoy the view and relax.
