Small, safe, quiet KOA with lots of trees.

Great KOA that has all of the usual KOA amenities. They have a pool, slide, jump pad, playground, and dog park. Would stay again.

Stayed at this campground a few years ago and it was okay. Recently stopped and spent a night on the way south. Definitely had some changes made since I stayed last. New bathrooms, laundry rooms, and upgraded amenities. Will be staying again next year.

Woke up to the sewer backing up all over the campground! Power cord and water hose was covered in it! The staff didn’t really care! I would not come here because they have no intentions of cleaning it up! If I could give the place a minus star I would!!!

New Year Trip

We took our T@G on its first big trip. We rang in the New Year camping and we loved it. We had a big site near the bathroom. The park was good, they had breakfast each morning, A store with essentials, activities around the park and we could see the fireworks on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s day from our site. There were some run down and dirty RVs in the park, that had been there for a long time. The bathrooms were in need of repair, this was noted on the KOA review page also. There was missing trim, old wood under the sink area, and the bathroom floors were always flooded. Not sure where the water came from, but it was there every day. The weather was around 80 most of the time, only one cold night. Overall a good trip, probably wouldn’t go back to this KOA.

Very disappointed

Passing through for 2 night stay . Left after 1 night, I knew before we parked the vehicle that couldn’t stay more than that night. We paid extra for the PAw Pen and my dogs couldn’t spend one second in it. It was so muddy and full of holes dug by dogs( no maintenance) The staff was very nice and offered to send maintenance over but no maintenance that day could make it playable. The bathrooms were unusable, discussing mold. The traffic noise was pretty bad. The staff very friendly. The biscuits and gravy very good( free) But I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. A never again for me.

Hello Angie. We appreciate your feedback and would like to let you know that this campground is under new ownership! Our staff checks the Paw Pen site daily to make sure that any holes that are dug get filled in. They also clean it out to make sure that no "presents" are left from the previous 4 legged guests.

The bathrooms have been completely redone and look AMAZING! Sprinkles, our friendly neighborhood bunny may try to hop in there, so be sure to keep the door shut. She can get into mischief if she doesn't get biscuits or snacks.

We hope you give us another chance in the future. If there is ever anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, please reach out to me at jacksonville@koa.com

False advertising/left early

Heated pool broken. We stayed 2 days and got different stories from all staff. Finally a clerk informed us part was in order. Old facilities with poor circulation in shower rooms. Right off highway so lots of over night traffic. Only great thing is complimentary breakfast daily. Waffles. Biscuits and gravy and pancakes. No sightseeing pamphlets in store. Most places closed on Sunday and Monday in the town. Took ferry to Cumberland Island on Sunday. Fun experience but really most exciting thing in the town.

Roadside Camping Playground

Weary-eyed after driving up or down I-95 for countless hours, but don't want the hassle of getting too far off the interstate to find a decent place to rest your weary head… then look no further!

St. Mary's KOA is just a stone's throw once you get off the highway (just 2 lefts and 1 right and you'll arrive at your destination). While KOA's are very well known for being family-friendly, complete with all the bells and whistles to distract the kiddos, this one offers convenience, decent amenities (although some updating of the roads and the campsites themselves are needed) and an open playground for camping.

While the upside is its convenient on- and off-access from the interstate, that's also the downside: you'll hear traffic throughout your stay. But if you can get beyond that, then this could be a good stop, complete with a mini golf course, pool and waterslide and a number of other distractions.

The main office has a store complete with just about anything you would need, and there's even some WigWam teepees and semi-permanent cabins on the property that you can rent.  Happy Camping!

Easy highway access with wide RV spots

We stayed here for one night on our way to Florida. We checked in after dark and were able to easily find our site. Sites are grass, mostly level, and plenty wide (for a KOA) so you don’t feel on top of your neighbors. There are plenty of activities for the kids including a pool with water side, mini golf, and a bounce pad. The campground offers free WiFi through a 3rd party, but the poor speed made it unusable during our stay. We had 3 bars of LTE coverage on AT&T. The free breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Try the biscuits and gravy!

Nice KOA, needs some maintenance

We had a nice two day stay at Jacksonville North KOA. The pull through sites were close together, as is typical of these commercial campgrounds. Smelled like sewer throughout the campground. The playground would have been nicer if it was maintained appropriately. Not much to do in the area. We visited mill ruins which was cool. Were going to go to Cumberland Island, but it would have been $200 for 1 adult and 3 kids with bikes. Yikes.

We had so much fun camping here for the weekend with our family. The staff was absolutely delightful. Very clean with lots of fun activities like mini golf, pool, jumping pad and a dog run for your pet. They serve free waffles and pancakes in the morning too. We drove to the Okefenokee Swamp (about 30 minutes away)and spent a good part of the day touring the facility and learning a lot about alligators. Definitely want to return in the fall when the weather is cooler. If you are looking for a simple and fun weekend to just hang out with your family , this is a winner!

Great for kids

While we only stayed overnight I could see how, with all of the amenities such as the pool and giant slide, bounce pad, mini golf, etc., this would be a good stop for families. It is right off I-95 so the road noise is ever-present but it does diminish the further back you go. There are a variety of sites offered—some are gravel with a cute patio set while others are just grass. They are all pull throughs. The sewer hookup at our site (C14) was at an angle which made it difficult to keep the hose in when emptying our tanks, so poor design there.
