We love Stone Mountain!
Beautiful park with lots of activities available for the whole family. The park is well maintained and clean!

Campground has it all!
I love this campground. Sites are usually clean and staff are friendly. This is my second time camping here. I come for the Highland Games here. Sites are close so it would not benefit you if you want seclusion. Bathrooms are clean. And in October there are different activities for the kids. Fall fest and Halloween parade.

Beauty around the Rock
We camped over the Labor Day weekend. The park was a little pricey but the lake is nice. There is a pool, a playground & a gathering area. There are a lot of sites as well as Yurts. On top of the $70 a night you must pay a $20 parking fee. The full use of the state park is $39.95 a day.

Beautiful Campgrounds
We were only there 1 night and came in late, but beautiful location with a lake view. They have a 2 night min, but you can pay for 1 night. However, you need to do it by cash only. There is no way to pay w a cc or leave a cc number for them to charge. Also, be ready to pay an additional $20 fee to enter the park. So, at the min rate of $45 you’re still at $65 at least for the first night.
The fireworks were very loud, but it didn’t bother us. There’s also train noise. So, if you’re sensitive to that, prob not the bet choice for you. But this park is gorgeous with a golf course and lots to see if you can handle that :)
Wonderful view!
We had a wonderful spring break visit in March 2023. We stayed in, according to the map, red#279. Please go by camp site number when there though. It was a little confusing when we arrived as the signs had changed. It is a number range now. The site needed the leaves removed but it didn't stop us. We fit the site, it was a little snug but we loved it!!! The view was fantastic and just what I was looking for! I know they have been making some improvements and hope they get to the inner side of the circles soon. I would love to go back to this area again. I would suggest an outside rug to keep from taking everything in. It was amazing to have!!! I would stay in this area again anytime!

Large, professional, active and busy
Picturesque site on hillside overlooking Stone Mountain Lake. Paved site is bumpy and challenging to level. Large park with many entertainment choices.

Extraordinary Attractions
Stone Mountain hardly needs another glowing review, but it is a pleasure to stay there. First, everything is contained and available. The views of the lake, and, yes, the mountain are gorgeous. There is a nice spacious check-in store. Your trash is picked up constantly from your site. Each site has a deck, a grill with a propane tank already attached, a picnic table, and a fire pit, electric and sewer hook ups. The sites are close together, but the decks are pretty private. If you bike, hike, run or like trails, boating and fishing, all are right there. It helps to have a car/truck, as the place is pretty immense, but my neighbors had a Class C and were throughly enjoying mountain biking to everything. Another neighbor with a gorgeous Class A was driving his towed truck to a neighboring Petco. There is everything. Deer roam in the morning and at night, and if golf is your sport of choice, Stone Mountain has a highly rated public course. The staff is very friendly. I liked the purple area near the playground and pool. The sites seemed a little more private. It’s not cheap, and I don’t know what discounts might be available. But, if you’re in or around Atlanta, this is the place to go. It will NOT disappoint.
Spacious sites with lots to do!
We had a great weekend getaway here. We reserved an Orange Site overlooking the lake and highly recommend it. Every Saturday in December, there is a golf cart parade through the campground. The golf carts and RVs are decorated and everyone is in the holiday spirit. Plus, Stone Mountain has a whole Christmas celebration which provides lots of activities. Will definitely return!
Best Around
Grew up coming here every weekend. So much to do. So many hidden gems. Lots of fun touristy stuff but also many things the tourist don't ever find. We rented a camper which is the way to go, has its own shower, bathroom, and is very nice. Campground is kinda crowded. Not much privacy, but honestly you don't spend much time at camp with all the things to do.
Beautiful lakeside campground
I went end of season so it was pretty quiet, and I got a lakeside spot. I was disappointed the shuttle wasn't running but hopefully they'll get that back up soon. The area is gorgeous. The campground was really clean, and I loved my extra big spot. Bathrooms were nearby and clean. The entire place also felt very secure.
Stone mountain hiking & RV camping
Awesome hiking. Extremely pet friendly, lakeside campsite

Amongst the activities
Stayed in site #253. Ok campground. Sites are small and uneven. Premium price but not premium site. Our site was on loop with a lot of shade. Camp has mostly full hookups including cable. Pool at campground and store. Yurts, rental campers, premium tents are also available. Lots of activities in this park. Very touristy but that's what I expected. Stone Mountain can hike or take sky tram to top. Many other options to do especially for kids. The laser show is a must see!! Many trails in the park for hiking, biking, running, walking. We kayaked the lake. In July it's very hot. Within 45 minutes to Atlanta. Good campground to enjoy many activities. Will return in fall/winter to enjoy some hiking.

Different Loop -Lime Green
Well we stayed 5 days in the orange loop and that had better phone reception with less trees 🌳. That loop was more crowded and busier near the tents. The last 5 days we were in the lime green loop, which is near the laundry and it was much quieter, less traffic and more shaded. However less phone reception (TMobile) in this loop. Full hook up site with cable and has been re-done or refreshed like the new orange loop. I wish they would re-do all the camp sites like this.
Great stop with amazing hike
This trip was a stop along our way to Florida from Connecticut, we spent 2 days here, the grounds we amazing, great place for kids, the hike up stone mountain was memorable for the whole family... we would definitely recommend this place for families who love to hike.... we would change nothing about this camp ground or park
Beautiful Park & Views
We had a large site in a new loop (orange) with views of East Lake and the side of Stone Mountain. Roads are nice and wide, easy to get in and out of the back in sites. Full hook up with cable. Camp store has reasonable prices for fire wood and ice.
Beautiful
We stayed here for 2 nights on our was to Gatlinburg. We went up the mountain and then walked down. We did the rope challenge in the park and did the laser night show would highly recommend. I didn't not give it 5 stars because the pool and shuttle to mountain was closed during our stay. We had a great time with our oldest grandson.

Awesome grounds with basic to full-hookups. Pet friendly.
Awesome grounds in a family and pet friendly atmosphere. Neighbors were kind and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful time. Walking the grounds was nice and hilly. There’s also trails in between areas and around the campground. If you like the water, bring your trunks, kayaks, and poles.

The Northern Estate on the road
Great location, nicely laid out park, what an incredible focal point. The 30 amp breaker was broke luckily we got a 50 to 30 adapter, all good. We took just 20 steps from our camp to see the iconic rock. Campground was inside the city park, must pay an additional one time $20 for vehicle to enter park first the campground. One of the nicest city parks worth the $20! We
We love it so much we got married there!
You will love this campground as much as we do! From the registration process, to the staff, the scenery, tent and RV campsites ... SMP is a winner!
Camping @ Stone Mtn Park
We had a blast the year we camped out at Stone Mtn, We rode the ferry boat, the train, then walked up the mountain to ride the skylift back down it just in time to watch the laser show. After the laser show was over and we ran around the big grassy area waiting for the cars to clear out we headed to our camping area, & made s'mores.
We didn't camp but exploring the park and hiking up and down the mtn made for a amazing day full of beautiful terrain
I had a great day exploring the park
Great campground
Stone Mountain Park has a very large campground and there’s a wide range of sites and prices. The restroom and shower facilities are always clean. The main park is beautiful and has a really nice cycling and walking/running path around the mountain. There are also really good hiking trails, a lake with kayak rentals available and other attractions.
Great place
We go to camp here at least twice a year. Despite the crazy traffic in the capitol city, there are many restaurants with good food nearby.

Wonderful view
Park is wonderful, can be overcrowded. Surrounding area can be a bit rundown
Awesome views
We camped here for 3 nights and will definitely be back. We were in the red section because I thought it had more views and ambiance. We were in a lakeside site and the mountain and the lake was simply beautiful. The site was tight and a little scary to back in as we got there after dark. The drop off was steep at the back of the site. But we managed and was glad we picked it. We did not use the bath house so can’t review those. We were there to visit our daughter in Decatur so we didn’t spend nearly enough time at the park. But next time we will! The WiFi was okay but not great. I’m sure it fills up in the summer as it is a great place to take your bikes or simply walk.

Absolutely one of the best
The title says it all. The grounds are excellent. Plenty of spots. Water, electric, sewer, primitive sites, cabins, drive thru, back ins, lake front, golf, stone mountain itself, washer/dryers, store, etc. Wow! Will definitely be back. We parked with a 41’ motorhome by the lake for 2 nights and absolutely loved it.

Great spot in pine trees; Accessible to the city
SITE: Pretty spot among many pine trees so feels private. You can see the water from the site and it's a great area to get around and walk outside. Our site was pretty level, we just needed a little boost on one side. Our sewer hose didn't fit in the hookup and it's higher than the ground so you had to assist your hose when dumping. Some of the asphalt getting to the site was really messed up so you have to dodge pot holes, but if you go slow it's perfectly doable- just bouncy. It froze 3 of the nights we were there so had to plan accordingly with our hoses.Â
AMENITIES: We were right across the way from Comfort Station#10 so to use the laundry room was really convenient. Daily trash pick up at site was very handy.$2 for both washing and drying. The dryers didn't work that well for us- had to run the cycle twice on towels. It's a very quiet and peaceful location.Â
WIFI/ CELL SERVICE: Wifi would occasionally load emails, but was not reliable and very slow to load basic searches, if at all. AT&T was 2 bars, but it worked fine at the site for calls and video calls.Â
You do have to pay a one time fee of$20 for your car entry into Stone Mountain on top of your RV park fees. Stone Mountain has great areas for walking and biking!
Leveling for pros. But great location
This has been the most difficult to level site we have ever stayed at. We could not find an even surface to put our sons pack and play outside. That aside, this place has so much to do, great for biking and hiking. With beautiful views all around. We would come back but def to another site. Try to avoid site #172.
