Amazing place

We arrived Late afternoon took the road about 3 1/2 miles to our site which has a small waterfall actually there are three waterfalls here next to our site the one that can be seen easily the other two a little bit harder to get to by foot but we’ll worth the walk. The was water extremely cold couldn’t stay in it for more than five minutes. Most roads up here are only dirt and helpful if you have 4 Wheel Dr. to get to certain secluded areas we saw blackbear no venomous snakes but did come across a few black racers. As for firewood you can scrounge around there for branches and such but better to buy the wood out on the main stretch in Clayton the town outside of warwoman wildlife management area. We paid $125 for a 8 foot bed of semi seasoned split wood also known as a cord that lasted us the 4 days of tent camping. There are a few places before you head into warwoman wildlife management area that sell wood for a nites fire. There were no bugs and the temperatures were in the low 50s at night and mid 70s during the day. The fall leaves where a little late to show there true colors but still beautiful. Most sites have bear proof food containers that you can utilize and very heavy well built picnic tables. We had a restroom near us that is like portable toilets with toilet paper provided. No internet service but did find certain areas on the roads up there that you could use your cell phone. The only running water is the creeks and no electricity. Everyone we meet had kids and that was during the weekend. No body was camping there during the weekdays.

Great for Tent Camping!

Stayed here in July 2020. Campsites are available on a first come, first served basis. There is no cell service. It's pet friendly. No water or electric hookups. Bathrooms are toilet only and no running water or temperature control.

There's the facts. Now on to the good stuff.

The road to get to some of these sites is ROUGH. Definitely not a road to drive for those who aren't skilled in off road driving.

We stayed in one of the back sites near the creek (I can't recall the number). Most of the sites were VERY secluded. We could see our neighbors in the distance, but not very well.

Some of the sites are HUGE. Ours was one of those large ones.

There are bugs everywhere. Make sure you know how to set up your site to repel bugs!

This campground has it all - fishing, hiking, waterfalls, wildlife, etc. It's a primitive camper's dream!

Great Site to Escape the World

Amazing site. Plenty of spots and space for camping. Some require water and creek crossing. If you’re looking to do some wheeling or off-roading, you’ll have some trails to ride and mountains to climb. The site has no cell service, so be ready for that. You’re truly alone on a mountain. The creek offers places to relax, fish, and even swim.

nice campground with off-roading

We didn’t spend the night here but we did pull off into one of the sites to play in the creek for a while after driving on the trails. Nice campgrounds along the creek with a fire ring and grate. Probably best for high clearance vehicles, there are some water crossings and rocky roads. The start of the trail is very steep and narrow. no signal here

Perfect for families

Access to the campground is a narrow partially-paved but well-maintained single lane road with only one area to pull over, so be careful when entering and exiting because if you meet another vehicle one of you will be backing back the way you came!

The campground is very clean and well-maintained, with every site having its own fire ring, lantern pole, and at least one picnic table. Trash bins are located near the pit toilets (one at the entrance to the campground and one across the creek deeper in.

Past about site 15 the road gets slightly rougher and you will need a vehicle that can cross the creek.

All in all, the campground is perfect for family camping or for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors without needing to backpack supplies in. Only a short drive from Clayton, GA if supplies are needed.

Well maintained WMA

Sarah's Creek has some really nice designated sites that are clean and well taken care of. You can't beat the price of $10 per night! Local rivers and streams offer great trout fishing in the spring.

A neat retreat

Sarah's Creek has a lot of campsites, but some require water crossings that would not be recommended for lower-clearance vehicles. Some sites are more private and spacious than others. Some are in the vicinity of pit toilets. Sites have tent pads, picnic table, fire ring. Most are along Sarah's Creek. Bring your own water. Never had a bear bother me there, but seen bear activity. No cell service in campground but can get signal at higher spots on drive in. Gravel road can have some sketchy spots from season to season, especially in the last descent into campground. Can have some late night people driving through and trash has been evident from time to time. There are trash receptacles on site.

Some wilderness fields behind campsites 1-5 across creek, up hill, where you can see deer grazing on occasion, as well as some of the other fields throughout the area.

Campsite 1 has a really small waterfall/swimming area - great spot but lots of people can walk thru your site to access it, so keep that in mind.
