CRAMPED & Full-Timers
We arrived to a warm welcome and headed to site #27. To say these sites are tight is an understatement. You're practically touching your neighbors. We have a 4Runner with RTT and weren't thrilled with the prospects. We get to our site and see that it's missing a picnic table and a big white truck is parked in our spot. We let the office know and they didn't seem surprised saying the tables tend to walk away but they'd get us one and would contact the owner of the truck. No big deal, we'll grab lunch and a couple drinks. So we get a call saying they have a table for us and have contacted the owner of the truck which will be moved ASAP. Perfect!
After lunch we head back and find a table had been brought over and the truck moved, but now there's a black KIA in our spots. Seeing as we were already not thrilled with the cramped confines, we said screw it and decided on a hotel. We thanked the office for the table and getting the truck moved but there was now another vehicle in it's place. They seemed genuinely disappointed and offered to contact the owners. When we told them not to bother, we weren't staying, they didn't even offer a refund. This wasn't a surprise since when we made the phone reservation, they said they didn't offer refunds for cancellations. This should've been a red flag.
We would NOT recommend this place to anyone that would spend any time at their site. There simply isn't any space to get comfortable. The office staff was friendly but it seems like the full-timers and extended stayers feel like they run the place.
Cozy and Quaint
Small and efficient for tenting. However, tenting is by the highway and under lights. Very noisy and bright for sleeping.
Great place
Stayed here multiple times. Always enjoy being on water and boat docks at site.
Watefront sites are nicest
I missed the turnoff a few times, as it's down a side street. They have a boat ramp and slips. The sites away from the water are very close together. Prime sites along the water offer nice views. Bathrooms clean, laundry available. There are tiki huts and lounge chairs along the water.

Had a great time!!
Drove in seeing campers thinking I was in the wrong spot. Drove around and saw this beautiful view of the water 🥰. Found the office & had a great greeting, was told about everything with the site, filled out paper work that took no time. The price is great for what you’re getting. It being more a RV site the ground is hard, best bring inflatable matters. Bathroom nice, Air conditioned, & clean. Would recommend to all Will come back again!!
Happy camper!
Kings Kamp is a unique property that will work for all visitors. Personally, I camped in a tent, but they also have RV spots and on-site cabins. It was right off the main highway through the keys so it was very easy to get to. Very close to John Pennekamp and everything else in Key Largo. Pretty standard tent sites, nothing glamorous. The campground is in The Keys, so you can't complain about anything! It actually has a small marina, so bring the boat or kayak and launch right there. We found a nice little spot where we fished and had our lunch by (pictured). We did not stay for very long, and truthfully, we ventured out around town for most of the day. That being said, we didn't worry about our gear while out. It felt very safe.
Very beautiful location and reasonable price compared to most other options in the area. Would stay again.
