Clean Friendly Service Easy Check In

Wide variety of sites, not directly on top of our neighbors, plenty of nature, we love the beach!

Cleaning

Love this place but this Thanksgiving weekend there was no cleaning of the baths. Several emails to the office brought apologies and an offer of a refund We just wanted those who were getting paid to clean do their job. Camps hosts were hardly ever seen

Nice city park beach and lake

Stayed two nights in a 21 ft motorhome. Loved the city park with tons of amenities including beach and lake access. Provides full hook up with 30 or 50 amp service. Our site 283 was great as close to park entrance, beach access, lake and store. Only disappointed in the bath house shower facilities. Bath house was close to campsite and was a no frill shower but not maintained well. The on line reservation is a little tricky but when you get to speak to someone they are very helpful.

A must stay! The campground is like being in a tropical forest.

The campground is like being in a tropical forest but yet its just a short bike ride to the beach. Absolutely fantastic place to stay. We would come back if we weren't so far away (AZ).

Site215 was a bit short for our 34' 5th wheel and truck.

Worst site in 5 years rving

Arrived excited to stay in a "purple" (up to 35 feet) 50 amp rv site with full hookups for a week by the beach. Have read great reviews of this park. We made this reservation in December. We checked in and arrived at our site, #25, only to find a low front, high middle, low back end back in site, too narrow for slideouts and with great washed out tree roots extending towards the center of the high middle. We would have bottomed out badly to straddle the higher center after the rear wheels dropped down in the lower back end of the site. This also put the sewer uphill from our black tank. Our 33 foot class A was not going to work. I went to the office, only to be told they were full with no other sites available, oh, and no refund because we had checked in, and that is City of Jacksonville rules. Did I mention it was raining, cold, and about 2 hours until dark? We left, drove through the rain out of Jacksonville and found a nice private RV park with an available level site outside of Callahan, FL.

Great jungle like camping with one caveat

This is our second trip to stay here. Each time has been for a week. It is our favorite campground. The Atlantic Beach on one side, freshwater lake on the other. Quiet and very natural. You will track more dirt in your camper since there are no concrete pads but so what. Now for my negative. Both trips we had a sewer connection that was stubbed off at least 8 inches high. Whoever did this certainly doesn't know the first rule of plumbing drains. If we come back again I will put several cinder blocks in the truck to try and raise my sewer line as a Slunky doesn't begin to solve this issue. Pretty frustrating for a week's stay when tanks are emptied several times.

Most unique campground we have seen

We stayed 5 nights in January. This is a one of a kind experience. Staff was very helpful from check in to departure. Campsites are not concrete so be extra careful stabilizing your RV. We are returning in March and will have more 4x4 chocks to use. Every site has full hookups with lighted power posts. Only negative we had to move once and the second site sewer connection was stubbed out pretty high, be sure you have a slunky and even then I had to raise the hose to empty it. Easy access to the Atlantic beach on one side and a nice fresh water lake on the other. Access code is needed to enter and campers are provided with the code. Didnt use the restrooms or showers so cant comment on those. Camp store was open reduced hours but seemed well stocked. If you are interested in local seafood Mayport has 2 excellent restaurants nearby, Safe Harbor and Singletons are really good. Dollar stores are nearby as well. Bottom line we LOVE this place!

Camping at the Beach

Really enjoyed tent camping here and the hiking/ biking trails were gorgeous and well maintained. Stayed a week to renew our spirits. Hot showers and great camphosts!

Overall good experience

Overall we had a good time here. We booked private Back-in RV site for our rooftop tent. We also had a hammock tent which is not allowed in this campground (as we learned later) if you are planning to tie it to trees. Bathrooms need some updating - some shower heads were broken. Nice campground otherwise. Access to lake and beach was pretty nice but require a little walk. Several playgrounds for kids. Would come back.

Great location.

This is a great place; the beach is 1/2 mile away, there are outstanding MTB trails, hot showers, great lighting, clean bathrooms, outlets at each camp site, and more.

Hidden gem

Hanna Park is a great camping spot. The sites are generously sized and level. It's a short walk to an extraordinary beach that's never too crowded. At worst (4th of July?), walk a few yards from a dune crossover.

The park also has the best mountain bike trails in the area. Weekend mornings locals fill the parking lot at the entrance to ride, and the trails are empty pretty much the rest of the week. There are also hiking/running trails through the same woods to keep everyone separate.

Another biggie is the park has a gated entrance so you don't have problems with theft like some parks. The location is nestled between Mayport Navy base and Atlantic Beach, a tony beach town with several grocery stores, great restaurants and night life.

Have no complaints

Great park! Lots of trees for shade. Great variety of spots and sizes. My spot was not level. Needed extra stinky tube to reach sewer dump.

Very beautiful park

There is a lot of stuff that could be updated but all in all it is a great place. Beautiful beach, huge lake, and tons of bike trails.

Tight spots, beautiful place

Hanna Park would be five stars if it was just a little more groomed. We have a 38 foot fifth wheel and it was tough getting it in! The trees are hanging over the road so prepare to scratch your rig. Other than that, it’s amazing! The beach is beautiful and there’s a lot to do both in the park and nearby.

Great Weekend Getaway

Has a little bit of everything: beach, hiking, biking, mountain biking, lake. Spots are a bit close. It’s really quiet at night, so it’s really a non-issue. There’s no alcohol permitted. Just don’t be obvious or obnoxious and it’s nit really an issue.

One of the best kept secrets in Jacksonville

I took my son and a number of his friends here for a two day car camping trip. The facilities are clean and well taken care of. All the boys enjoyed going on hikes and bike rides through the many trails with a nice cool down swim in the ocean afterward. If you are lucky you can catch a US Navy ship departing or arriving from the nearby Naval Base.
