Very Comfortable - Lacked WOW

This is a very nice, quiet and quaint camping spot! We loved the wooded areas. The flat parking pads and hook ups! There’s nothing extra special here to make it a 5 star. I’d absolutely visit again!!…. But it’s not a bucket list spot!

The coolest thing is we did see a moose!

Choose your loop carefully

We were going to give this a 3 star review based on our first night here in D loop. No water, sites close together and a long walk to the vault toilets, plus the site was not level. Our second night was in E loop. Sites are over 100 feet apart, level, flush heads, near free showers, and water available plus dish washing area, but no tent pads. Loops are either RV or tent. Tent loops also have sites too close for our taste, about 37 feet apart. Though if you choose carefully, a few sites are more remote. Some of the tent loops let you park adjacent to your site (loops H and I). Others you park in a common area and walk to your site. Volunteer staff very friendly. In season camp programs. Much jet noise from airliners leaving Denver. Some road noise also, but very quiet at night. Your experience will vary with your chosen loop and site. Overall nice, much more so in E loop and B loop looks similar. For tenting, I’d suggest H or I loop. Good T-Mobile.

Close place to do a getaway

I came up for a night of camping with one of my dogs. I reserved the area with electric hookup since I brought the van. The area was very organized and tidy. Campsite was large with a picnic table, fire pit, and central spot for trash and recycling. Area was quiet, but close to a road. No cell service for phone if you’re wondering.

Beautiful at 9,000 feet

Stunning campground nestled right outside Golden and Boulder Colorado. We couldn’t believe it…so close but you feel incredibly removed once you get there. Campsites are close together but there is plenty of shade and coverage between sites. Great amenities: hot showers, laundry, firewood for sale, well marked trails. Our loop did NOT have water be aware and look at your maps before booking. Some loops have water and some do not. We did have electric though. Overall had a blast.

Close quarters

We have stayed here several times in our minivan and even got a cabin several years ago. Very clean, great power and you can even get 5G mobile service on T-Mobile most of the time in a lot of areas around the park. Especially in the RV parking area of Reverend's Ridge. Nice spacious shower house bathroom Keep in mind though that the smaller bathrooms around the RV parking loops are only.for when the electricity is out. So you'll need to head to the shower house if needed. My only real complaint is that the sites and cabins are very very close together and can be a bit uncomfortable if your trying to "get away" It's usually completely lights out and silent about 30min after the sun goes completely down.

Beautiful Campground

Wonderful campground only an hour out of Denver. Nice area with many trees and well maintained. Probably the cleanest campground we have ever visited! Clean bathrooms with showers and flush toilets. Great trails and mountain biking around and only 20 a minute drive to Nederland. We had some AT&T cell coverage.

Campground with lots of Trails

Reverend’s Ridge Campground is part of Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Besides the campground reservation, you need a daily car pass ($10) or a yearly CPW pass ($80). The campground is well equipped with running toilets and showers during the spring and summer. They also have. Washer and dryer in their facilities. The campground has an area for tents only, RVs, cabins and a few yurts ($90 per day with a minimum of 2 Days). The site is quite big and the sites, at least at the tent site, were fairly distanced from each other which gives you some privacy. The area is covered with pines and a lot of aspens. There are plenty of trails and a few ponds for fishing. In general, this campground is very good and has really good amenities. Trails were pretty busy due to the excellent weather. Panorama view area is walking distance from the site. Avoid driving there since you probably will walk the same distance from your car. Parking were extremely difficult and CPW were giving citations.

Lots of amenities

Nice campground with a lot of facilities throughout. There’s an ice machine ($5 for 8lb), showers, laundry, flush toilets, etc.- but the sites didn’t feel very private (at least in loop J and the surrounding areas), though it didn’t feel crowded. If you like having the comforts of home while camping, this would be a good choice. If you’re looking for a more private (and basic) site, check out Aspen Meadows down the road.

FYI don’t tie anything to trees, even if you wrap them first.

Dated amenities

This place was "okay". They don't make it very easy to find, but I was glad it was tucked away. The facilities were clean, sure, but everything was old and there was market writing and scratches on the bathroom walls, as well as prison-style TP holders with a piece of bar steel shoved through a cardboard-tubeless toilet paper holder that you had to manually turn for each precious sheet of single-ply. It was off season so I gave them an extra star...

It was also QUITE a trek up the mountain to get there from Golden, with a LOT of steep grades, and multiple SLOW switchbacks.

Campground is very clean. Loop E (electric hookups) is very spacious and well laid out. Every campsite is a pull thru allowing you situate anywhere along the paved area to best suit your needs. Mostly level, fire rings, and very large metal picnic tables. Enormous amount of room.

Great hiking and bike trails

This spot is just a quick ride outside of Golden. The scenery is gorgeous with several trails to hike or mountain bike. The campsites are clean and easy to get to. Great for families with little ones. You are pretty close to your neighbors and it’s busy. We went with friends with adjacent campsites, so that made it fun. However, if we were camping alone it would have been a little close next door. The bathrooms are clean and park rangers monitored the area often.

Amazing drive up to the campground first of all! Beyond that the campsites are so well maintained and the facilities in the campground were clean and well maintained. Racoon trail is right off of the loop we stayed in and it was a truly amazing hike. Fire rings are not very deep but the grills attached were clean.

Great family camping

What a great campground!  This is less than an hour from our house, perfect for a quick night away.  I'm camping for the first time in decades, hoping to give my toddler a love of the outdoors.  Reverends Ridge is perfect for family campers.  In spot 86 (Loop I), we were close enough to the flush toilets (yea!) but far enough away from neighbors.  We were able to explore easily from our site and my daughter had a great time checking out the campsite. The drive-up site was very clean, the tent pads have nice tie-down points and the fire pit and grill gate were fully operational.  We were able to buy wood from the main office. I really appreciated the dishwashing station next to the bathrooms.  The campground is about 20 minutes from Nederland, a nice escape for ice cream and the short rain storm that came in during the afternoon.

There were tons of families around and it was very quiet by 10 pm.  Not so much the next morning!  If you like to sleep in, I would bring some earplugs, there were lots of early risers.  But I prefer that to loud music and rowdy groups at night.

Visited the Reverend Ridge campground the weekend of March 6 for some early camping. The setting was a bit snowy but spectacular. The trailer pad was icy but cleared, and after some shoveling we were able to find the fire pit! If it is this great in the spring, imagine how great it is in the summer!

Perfect Quick Escape

Trees, trails and tranquility just an hour from Denver? Yes please! This is one of my new favorite spots -perfect for a quick weekend escape. We loved the roomy pull through spots for our camper, easy electrical hookups, super clean bathrooms and shower house. So many other campgrounds in Colorado have been hit hard by the pine beetle epidemic, but Reverends Ridge still has towering trees that make the loops feel private and remote. Dont mIss the easy hike to Panorama Point. From there you can let link to the rest of the extensive trail system through the park.

STUNNING!

This campground was absolutely amazing! It was so easy to get to and the facilities were extremely impressive. They offer a coin-laundry room, showers, and clean bathrooms. We were tent camping but had a small u-haul behind our car and there was plenty of room in the parking lot for it. Our site was perfect, we were tucked into loop F, but set far enough back that it felt like we were completely alone. The night was clear and the stars were absolutely amazing to see. I love the fact that this campground is so close to many of the trails in Golden Gate State Park. In the morning we got up and hiked the Mule Deer Trail and the views from the top were well worth the hike!

Hygiene: Laundry facilities on site. Showers weren't warm ar the end of a long day and will cost ya $1.00 for the first 4 minutes and 25 cents every minute after. The state doesn't provide hand soap in the bathrooms.

Reverends Ridge Loop A: facilities within walking distance for restroom and dishes. Electricity and water were great for us semi-tent campers. We had great camping neighbors. Not much deadwood on the ground. Fire wood $5.00 per bundle.

great campground - full of people and huge RVs

This is my favorite campground in GGCSP. Specifically loop D. We have had many Volkswagen Bus gatherings there over the years, and everyone loves the campground. As far as places with a ton of campers and huge RVs goes, this one is tops. It's beautiful, nice clean facilities, and for me it is less than an hour from home.

If you're looking for a place to get away from crowds, this is not the place for you.
