Great stay
This place was absolutely beautiful. I got a "full hook-up" site which apparently meant they drive around in the morning and clear your tanks. Not ideal but it worked for us.
So many amenities!
We stayed here for two nights. The campground is very large and very clean. Most spots are pull-through and ours was super clean and had a good amount of space. We stayed in row D but I’d recommend row A as the spots were a little more tucked away.
Pool and hot tub was super nice and they even have a food trailer open on the weekends
Great for family with kids
Great playground, jumping pillow, petting farm and mining fun :)
Will visit again
Love the camp ground and the staff. The spaces are nice. Lots of things to keep kiddo’s busy. It’s not to far from San Francisco without having to go into town with your rig. There is a regular mall and a outlet mall just down the road a bit

Lively place, great for families, but sometimes to noisy
We were happy we could reserve a spot last minute for a Saturday night. It turned out to be next to the playground. Not a good spot if you are tired of driving. Animators kept circling around us with their hay wagon full of kids . Positive: wifi, clean restrooms. Unfortunately the washing machines need an app that is not available on non US appstores. Staff were very friendly.
Great location for families
This campground is so friendly and lively! It reminded us of the vacation scenes in Marvelous Mrs. Mauser or Dirty Dancing. A great vacation buzz/sound of kids having fun, people riding bikes and visitors walking their pets. Facilities are clean and the staff is courteous.
Good place
It's good just it's hard to find a spot here and also always there's a lot of people
Great place for a 1st-timer
Came here for our “shake down” trip of our new to us travel trailer. Stayed in a pull-through site (thankfully…lol). The campground is pretty dense but there are lots of trees and open spaces. Loved the off lease dog area! Will return.
Great place for family fun
There is so much to do here. There is a store, big playground, jumping pillow, pool, petting zoo, and more. All the amenities were very nice. It’s a bit pricey and they charge for kids over 5 years old
Good and bad
A wide variety of experiences are available in this campground. Some sites are definitely better than others. But if you just want to pack up the kids and go, this is a good option.
Great first RV spot
This was a great spot for a first timer! The staff were friendly and helpful, access was easy from 101, and the campground was well maintained and incredibly clean. The bathrooms were some of the best I’ve seen at a campground.
A fantastic KOA
I have stayed here several times and always have a great experience. Large park with a variety of sites. Great pool and tons of stuff to keep the kids occupied. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating.
Great camp for the kids
This KOA is pretty big with plenty of options for RV sites. Wide variety of full hook-ups or partial hook-ups. Like most (if not all) KOAs, you can also tent camp or tent cabins. Good size dog park for the pets to run and be free, as well as plenty of fun activities to entertain the kiddos. For us, this is a great spot to shoot down the highway and pull in for a few days to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life! Close to downtown Petaluma with plenty of premium shops and restaurants.

Family Friendly
Very clean with pool and several play grounds. Clean bathrooms and nice washer and dryer rooms
Convenient Location, Good Facilities, Limited Solitude
If you want a great "base camp" location for exploring wine country north of San Francisco, this is a great place. Located in Petaluma, this campground is an easy drive to Napa and Sonoma county wineries, a bit longer drive to coastal locations like Bodega Bay, and easily within reach for a day on the Russian river or Lake Sonoma. The majority of the sites are full hookup with 30A or 50A power, water, and sewer. We didn't have sewer at our site, but every morning a small tanker truck would drive around and empty our tanks for us and others that didn't have sewer line hookups. This is the only campground I've ever been to that does this, and I wish more did. That's the positive. The downside is that this is a large campground, and it doesn't feel so much that you are camping so much as you are parked in a lot with a lot of other RV owners around you. That doesn't mean it's not fun for kids - they can ride bikes, go swimming, and generally have a great time. We were there in October and there was a great pumpkin patch nearby. It was a fun weekend. But as someone who prefers a bit more solitude and space when I take my trailer out, this spot was too crowded for my taste. Would I go here again? Sure. But I wouldn't consider it a camping weekend. It would be a wine tasting weekend where my lodgings happened to be my trailer.
Lots to do for families!
This place is great for Families. Has ton of activities as well. The campsites are quite close to each other which maybe the only downfall to this place. The employees are super friendly and helpful.
Very grateful
My family checked in from just a 30 minute drive from our home due to evacuations taking place in Santa Rosa due to fires. Petaluma KOA told us to head on in and check in with no minimum night stay and we were able to go home a day early than we had planned and paid for, and our money was refunded for that night. Thank you for being there for us during these crazy times. My kids were able to swim after zoom/school and get their minds off of why we left home. We’ll be back just for fun next time. Beautiful grounds!
Best KOA we’ve stayed at
We stayed 3 days over Labor Day and were so impressed! They were full but everything was safe, clean and organized. Woody, the manager, was very helpful and accommodating! We had a beautiful site under shade trees and a grassy area ! Lovely time 🌲
Quiet, cleaned and decent camp sites.
Stayed couple of nights. Camp sites are decent in space. They have a late check in which is not ideal as the place is pretty dark at night but convenient as we had some road troubles. Wifi wasn’t as good but we got average phone reception. Camps come with a fire pit and with a double water faucet which is great when you need additional water to clean up. Overall good experience at this place.

Pleasant Surprise
We are on our way north so this was a in transit stop. It is a big campground, but very well organized and very neat. Lots of space between campsites and lots of trees. We normally prefer less crowded campsites, but this was a nice compromise along the way.
Getaway KOA
We stopped here on our way to the Redwoods and it was a beautiful stop. This campground is clearly a getaway from the more congested parts of the area. Cute petting zoo and a pool that was open during COVID! We didn't stay long enough for sure. We also appreciated that it was close to city amenities like Lagunitas Brewing Co.
great and they're making it better
great accommodations. the bathrooms and showers were always clean. there was some construction going on, since it was the off season. it looked like they were renovating some of the bathrooms and aisle end sites to add grass and decks. the location was close to the freeway, which was a positive and negative. you could hear some traffic from the freeway or nearby road at times, but usually not. no complaints.
Awesome place for families
Had a blast here. A lot of different areas for the kids. Swimming, giant bounce area, and mild weather. Coffee bar, large play grounds and near shopping for any needs.
Great getaway in a great location
Clean simple and fun place with loads to do for the family. Swim, play and explore all the north bay has to offer.
Great campground for kids
Playgrounds, swimming pool, lots of space to run and scream. We stay when visiting the area and endure the screaming kids. The kids do have fun, I give them that. But this is not wilderness camping. It's camping among giant caravans and lots of families. On one visit, the campground was filled with vintage camp trailers It was fun to walk around and see the oldies.
Petaluma is a cute town with lots of good food and things to do. I recommend the area, and recommend KOA if you're driving a big caravan. There are some tent spaces and cabins too. Something for everyone.
Great place to recharge
A nice KOA close to Petaluma with great facilities. We took advantage of doing some laundry and having a hot shower. This KOA also offered all sorts of amenities for families including a small petting zoo, a pool, playground areas, and more. Sites were fairly close together and offered little privacy but overall it was a great place to recharge and get organized.
