Beautiful but closed right now!
Closed for maintenance.
Definitely outdoor and in nature.
Enjoyed the wild turkeys walking by frequently. Bathrooms clean and staff was helpful in allowing me to switch my site that better accommodated my vehicle. No showers. Had cell and WiFi with Verizon. Spaces are paved. Lots of shade with trees but still hot in upper 90's in July. Also, river dry in July 2021.
Great campground!
Very nice camground and very clean bathrooms. Some sites were a little noisy past quiet time and it would be a non issue if the sites were spread out better. But it happens and they usually calm down after awhile. My kids loved the wild turkeys and there are alot of them! We drove down to state street and the beach which is only about 25 minutes. Overall we had a fantastic time and will be back!

Ok
We drove from Long Beach. It’s a little far to travel for a campground that doesn’t have cool trails, big trees or creeks or anything. It’s nicely kept, but it’s probably better if you are local. There was a drought this year and the place was all brown. However, on the way to Solvang it hit me that you could do wine tasting while staying here. Maybe I’ll be back with a different plan when the place is greener!
Great campground, provided you get one of the good sites
In walking the campground there are some spaces I definitely wouldn't want, but there are some great spots here. The outer campsites have plenty of space, privacy, and tree coverage. The campgrounds are also close to Lake Cachuma, which has a nice recreation area.
Wild turkeys!
Seriously, there are wild turkeys here! There were two in our immediate and small campsite. We took a small drive and we must’ve seen 60 more turkeys crossing the road.
We stayed in the smaller loop and loved it. Every campsite up there was taken and it didn’t feel crowded at all. Walking around the larger loop we felt like we picked the better area for us.
Even though people were close, it was not noisy at all. The bathroom facility which was not too far was very well kept.
T-Mobile cellular service was pretty much zero but for maybe one bar near the camp entrance. A short drive back to the main road and you’ll have strong signal.
We would definitely return to this campsite.

A turkey's paradise!
We stayed in #12 &13. It was so nice. The bathrooms were clean and the site was so beautiful. It was turkey mating season and they were all over the place. Some sure fun trails. Nice and quiet for a relaxing weekend.
Wonderful mornings
You see your neighbors but if you get one of the camp sites on the outer areas, there are little trails to wander around in the morning. Lots of birds around and the dawn chorus is beautiful. There were even turkeys (mom and chicks) at our tent opening when we woke up.

Clean bathrooms, Quiet, But Slight Slope to Sites
Enjoyed this campground. Bathrooms were very clean. Our campsite was large and fairly private. Some sites are more private than others, would suggest the small loop off the main campground, sites 19, 20, 21 are great options for some privacy and lots of room to spread out. Only issue was some sites are on slopes and it was difficult to find level ground for the tent or anything that needed stability.
It was fine.
We only stayed a quick overnight on our way up the coast. The sites are close together, so you see and hear everything going on in the campsites next to you. It’s fine for car camping because you can drive right up to your sight. Bathrooms have flush toilets and are close.
Nice Weekend Getaway
A nice gem not far from Burbank when you're itching for a weekend getaway. Our camp host was extremely nice and came around with dog treats for every single dog there so they all loved her. Water spouts vlose to each site and bathrooms surprisingly super nice. The real treat is how close the campground is to Cold Springs Tavern that is clearly the hot spot in the area.
A beautiful place to camp near Santa Barbara
This site is in the Los Padres National Forest and is managed by a third party and not the USFS.
It is a clean and quiet site with lots of shade provided by huge oak trees.
Each site has a table, bbq, and fire pit. There is running water. There are flushing toilets.
each site is allowed one car, but there is parking right outside the site along the road.
The site is near many trails and about 6 miles from the red rock day use area.
It was 20.00 a night to stay. You can make reservations online but there is a 10.00 charge to do so.
Dogs are allowed must be on leash.
